Summer 2014: Your Expectations and Anticipated Series
http://anichart.net/summer (Has yet to update the official image lineup in full)
Will likely watch most of those except sequels of anime I haven't seen and shorts I could not care about. The shows I have extreme anticipation however include: Aldnoah Zero: Hooray for more Urobutchness! His works I have watched were really good even though his latest show (Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet) dissapointed me mildly. Rail Wars: Makoto Uno's godly designs never failed to impress me, the premise is intriguing and I'm ready for more epic music by Yoshiaki Fujisawa. It better not kill my impressions when it airs after a few episodes. Jinsei: I like feel.'s works, especially Outbreak Company which I throughoutly enjoyed a lot, a shame it does not sell very good (I don't have a problem with otaku references but I would rather show it to experienced anime watchers), so I knew I'll love it. Only thing that made worried is that I heard it does have a bit too much fanservice (by looking at the background pics from official website if you pay attention to it) though since it's from Gagaga Bunko, I hope it turns out awesome like I expected. Will rewatch Psycho-Pass in glorious director's cut 1-hour episodes to be fully prepared for the next season as well carryovering my spring stuff.

I will definitely watch Sailor Moon Crystal, Fate/kaleid Liner Prisma Illya II, Free! Eternal Summer, Glasslip, Persona 4 The Golden, and Sword Art Online II. I might watch Ao Haru Ride (my interest isn't that great from the preview material alone, but I do enjoy romance and shoujo), and there's a slight chance I'll watch Aldnoah.Zero also (I'm not really a fan of mecha, but I am a fan of Urobuchi). |

Space Dandy 2 - Because he's the dandiest motherfucker in space.
Aldnoah.zero - Because Urobutchi and he hasn't let me down yet. Ao Haru Ride - I'm picking up the manga eventually and I heard good things about it. Hanayamata - Studios have done good things with more everyday cultural stuff, and I'm keen to see how a series based on a traditional Japanese dance will fare. P4 Golden - The original adaptation was pretty good despite hokey animation and combat. I'm curious to see how a bigger budget adaptation of a "remastered" version I actually never played will be like. Glasslip - P.A. animation porn and slice of life. That's all I need.

Guaranteed watch:
-Akame Ga Kill -Tokyo Ghoul -Aldnoah.Zero -Psycho Pass: Never watched the original series, so this is a nice bonus for waiting it out I guess) Possibility: Sword Art Online II: I haven't seen the first season due to so many negative feedback about that seemingly 'horrible' second half of the show. If this new season does better, I might marathon it up to the current new episodes. ----------- Still so many uninteresting slice of life/moe shows as always, but there are definitely some possible gems here and there. |

There's no shortage of people that think the second half wasn't particularly bad at all, though, myself included; I considered the second part to at least be on even ground with the first, if not slightly better (though I could swing either way depending on my mood). I think it's worth giving the original a shot if you have an interest.

Akame ga Kill - Worth tying out at least
Aldnoah.Zero - always up for mech. Very High exceptions for this one DRAMAtical Murder - not sure why I put this on my list but oh well. Kantai collection - Could be amusing. Don't know much about it though. Liked blue steel though so I will give it a try Sailor moon - This could go either way for me. Though I tried to watch the original and failed to get past the minute mark. The hype has me intrigued Shirogane no Ishi Argevollen - More mech! Sword art online - enjoyed the first season so I look forward to this. tokyo ESP - could be intresting Zankyou no Terror - Reminds me of eden of the east somewhat, which I loved, Hanamonogatari - always up for more for of this. Sometimes.... After a packed spring season, summer looks be be another great season. Can't wait. I would more say that the second half wasn't nearly as awesome as the first half. That says more about the first half then the second half |

I never got into the original Sailor Moon either, but will try watching this version.
Will continue to follow Free, Sword Art Online, Psycho Pass, Sengoku Basara, Strange +. Looking forward to Tokyo ESP. It was a fun read early on, then I stopped reading it at a certain point. I stopped at a good story arc's end. I haven't had much time to pick up many manga stories for awhile. Will be good to be refreshed of the storyline through anime. I usually check out most new titles. A quick glance tells me I'll check out the mecha ones, Akame ga Kill, Bakumatsu Rock maybe, Barakamon, Kantai Collection maybe, Rail Wars, Sabagebu maybe, Tokyo Kushu, and Zankyou no Terror. I've seen Hamatora, wasn't impressed at all. Not sure why it has a second season. I thought Space Dandy was pretty dull. It has some great appeal to some I understand but I'll pass on the second season. |

Watch:
Bakumatsu Rock: Pretty boys whose BURNING SOUL is so powerful it causes their clothes to disintegrate. HOW COULD I NOT WATCH. Sengoku Basara Johnny's Entertai-- er, Judge End: As much as I'm definitely not fond of this Mitsunari and I'm already having issues with the story based on the summary (what's with the damn drama again ), I just hope we'll get some good old SenBasa fun. Also: YUKIMURA, MY BOY, YOU'RE BACK. (I hope. Writers, please don't sideline him again. Also, please don't make him angst, he's angsted enough. Let him be badass again.) Barakamon: Seems right up my alley... Nobunaga Concerto: Yet another take on Nobunaga, with a very promising story and stellar cast, not including Miyano Mamoru who I predict will fail at being manly and hot-blooded again. Zankyou no Terror: Also seems right up my alley. Shounen Hollywood: More pretty boys. Check out: Tokyo Ghoul: Could be interesting. Free! 2: As long as Rin is not too obnoxious, and Rei gets the respect he deserves. >_> DraMurder: Finally going to find out what's so great about this... Ao Haru Ride: For the seiyuu, and potentially the lulz. Sailor Moon Crystal: I never liked the Sailor Moon manga, and only really cared about the first season of the old anime (for the baddies), but why not. Gekkan shoujo Nozaki-kun: Sounds hilarious, I hope it'll live up to its promise. |

Will watch - those I'm most excited to watch from reading the descriptions, watching PV's or having read the material to be adapted:
Tokyo Ghoul - enjoyed very much what I read of the manga, so I'm excited to see what will come out of it in the anime. Studio Pierrot doesn't inspire much hope, though from the trailers you can see they put up a bit of effort into it at least. Akame ga Kill - Read like 2 chapters of the manga and enjoyed it. Would have continued it, much like Tokyo Ghoul, if an anime hadn't already been announced. This one wins over TG in excitement levels though, because it's freaking White Fox doing it, and I love that studio. Aldnoah.Zero - I confess, I've never watched anything Urobuchi other than Gargantia, which I absolutely despised. I know it's considered his worst written anime and yes, I will get around to watching Madoka, Fate/Zero...but that will be later, after I try out Aldnoah.Zero,a mecha with an interesting plot (ironically much ike Gargantia) that got me excited to watch it from the first PV. I hope Urobuchi doesn't disappoint me again. Zankyou no Terror - I hadn't even heard about this until last week, but the trailers and the amazing staff were enough to build on the hype. Betting this will be the dark horse of the season, 'cuz it looks amazing. Interested - those with descriptions that look decent enough that are worth watching: Barakamon - if this is anything like Usagi Drop I'm gonna love it. It looks innocent enough, kinda like a SoL to heal your soul. Argevollen - I love mecha, but this looks...bad from the PV, but that doesn't stop me from being interested and hoping it will surprise me. SAO II - Second half of S1 was awful, so if the second season keeps the same quality I will drop it instantly. |

My must watch:
SAO II : Beside the first arc,the Phantom Bullet arc is probably my favorite SAO arc so far.I'm really digging the whole thriller/murder setting. And Sinon is probably one of the most intresting and awesome female anime character in a long time. Aldnoa Zero : I loved the writing in Fate/Zero and the series as such. It'll be certainly intresting to see Urobuchis take on the jaded mecha universe. Akame ga Kill : Every series that has Assassins in it must be awesome and after reading the first chapter I'm sure this one will be an fun action ride. |
