Spoiler:

Well, basically I'm not exactly sure what to do. This is the first time that I'm working on a modification kit.

It's basically that black box text there. It has the numbers of the instruction set which I assume are from the main RG Exia kit.

Is it basically telling me to "skip" those parts of the main text as I'm building my RG Exia or is it telling me to "reverse" the things I'm done on those steps. Considering the nightmare of a time I had on building the RG Exia....well I'm trying to avoid the same pitfalls especially since this is more limited in supply and way more expensive (relative to the amount of material you're actually getting)

I have a spare RG Exia kit anyways (specifically for the purpose of having an RG Exia Repair), so I'm fine building from scratch or modifying my existing one. But regardless I want to get this right so I'm trying to be as careful as I can here since.

I can understand the pictures mostly fine but I get the feeling that instructions are telling me something important before I'm supposed to proceed to the picture section so I'm trying to be as careful as I proceed, hence the thread. Anybody worked on a modification kit before?
It's basically telling you to follow the original manual and make changes on some steps where it is needed. Example, once you reach step 01-2, refer to the exia repair manual to make the appropriate changes.

I have this kit as well. It's not that hard to understand how to build it really.

Verdict: Stick to Gundam panel lining marker, folks. I found that the inkflow was not as consistent, and could be irregular at times, whereas inflow on my gundam marker was steady and constant.

Also I've been trying out my Tamiya files. OH MY GOD. WHAT KIND OF TAMIYA SOURCERY IS THIS?! I just rub rub rub and the nub is FUCKING GONE. So fucking worth it. Very much looking forward to using all my toys on my MG Jesta next year.

Also MG Jesta + Red LED = EXAM Jesta. This is now my headcanon.
I see you finally got a cutting mat, good stuff!

I'm a stickler for this type of thing, always say if your gonna do something got to do it properly

Oh and nice panel lining

You mean to say excellent capitalization on Bandai's part. Gives you one less arm, but more correct colors. Looks like the average straight builder might just need to bite.

Did they ever correct the color of the original rozen zulu?

What's the problem with changing color formula anyway...

it looks like in the runners the Rozen Zulu still almost comes with pieces to possibly give it right arm.

Thanks!

Also, anybody use Tamiya files? I've heard that I should use some kind of thing called a file card to get the gunk out of the files, and that I should use another magical substance on the magical Tamiya files... that arecane, magical spray called WD-40.

I've got a question. Aside from coming from the original RG kit, was exactly does the "faded" parts means? Because from what I can see, you're supposed to omit them sometimes, like in 01-4 but in some parts like Section 9, I'm pretty sure you're supposed to use them in the construction of the GN Sword.

The faded parts doesn't mean that they should be omitted. It just means that they are the exact same part you would use when building the regular Exia.

Just got this thought while rewatching Unicorn for the Nth time: given its size and Unicorn's popularity, Kshatriya (and Repair) might eventually become a RE:100 if Nightingale and Gundam Mk 3 does well. Totally random thought, but well... *shrugs*

totally possible, since a MGs inner frame more or less kills the prospect of it getting a functional MG kit. RE:1/100 is so much more likely

And we have the HGBF Build Burning Gundam, with LOTS of effects parts:
