I think I like this arc more than any other one I've seen, though I didn't watch Sinon's. I think second is the one with Leafa at helm.
Anyway, the music was great and Asuna's running thingy was amazing. I already have a feeling about what's going on with Yuuki, given what they all are saying. |

Boku is a term often used by Tomboys. Yuuki definitely acts like a Tomboy, but is still too cutesy for me to believe she is a guy pretending to be a girl. As for the repeated nee-chan, unless Asuna has a long lost little sister (I only heard about her older brother a couple episodes back, but then again, I might need to re-check, if I can find it, the first season scene when Asuna talks about her family.), Asuna probably reminds Yuuki of someone Yuuki calls her nee-chan (either real sister, older cousin, or older close friend).
What really gets me is why does the Sleeping Knights have to disband? What's going on where they don't have time to play anymore, considering they used to play online so much? Well, springtime usually indicates the start of school, but that shouldn't stop online meet-ups like what Asuna does with her friends. If they all graduated from college and needed to start working, then I can understand that; however, they seem to be kids in their teens. Asuna and Kirito were both awesome in their respective fights against the guild. Asuna just destroyed everyone in her path. Kirito using Excalibur destroyed the other guild. I bet if Kirito and Asuna joined forces, they could probably have wiped out that guild of 50.

I want to add a side-note to my previous comment about hints.
If you're an anime-only viewer and don't know what's going to happen and want to speculate about it, please go to this thread. The more times you post a question about the content of the story, the more times some source-reader is going to see it and think "oh I'd better answer their question!" and that will just get them banned. So to help out, please put your speculation in the speculation thread so that people know clearly that you don't actually want to be spoiled. And if you do want to be spoiled, please don't post those questions in this thread. Source-readers should remember that any time anyone asks a question, it's to speculate about it or to see if they missed an answer already given, not to be told the answer from the book.

Note that I did move some posts to the Speculation & Theories (no spoilers) thread.

Kirito was showing off his coolness.
Asuna was amazing as well. I really enjoyed watching those fights. The boss fight was really nice too. After party was well deserved! Yuuki's behavior is getting weirder though. Good episode.

Yeah, now I get to give my thoughts about the episode itself. I really liked it a lot. I really like the way they direct the fights, and particularly Yuuki's ending move was all kinds of cool. I felt like cheering when she delivered the finishing blow. Really exciting and fun.
But... whatever it is they're holding over our heads about Yuuki and the Sleeping Knights is getting almost overwhelmingly heavy. There was so much angst about it in the second half that it was almost uncomfortable to watch. They're doing a good job in the sense that they're setting the stage for something big... but I hope they reveal it soon. This much foreboding almost borders on being too much, but I have faith that the payoff is coming. However, I'm guessing that we may end up transitioning away from the game for a while next week just to let the angst built even higher... not sure if I can take it. Perhaps I should have waited to just marathon the whole thing, but I'm still enjoying each week.

Kirito showing off, for the most part anyways, is actually thoroughly entertaining and I think even though it's been like that throughout the whole series, they manage to not keep it so repetitive in situations as such.
I'm not one for predicting but I am interested to see where it's going. Maybe Yuuki is related to Asuna or something. Judging from the opening theme sequence, and stating the obvious here, she has a sister and was maybe separated from her (?) ... or it could be Asunas brother...... lol |

Okay, so it sounds like a Nudist Beach weapon, but is that really a problem?
Bonus blooper version. Yuuki's moods are interesting. There's obviously the big change that comes over her at the end of this episode, but she abruptly switches from her cheery self to a more serious mode when Asuna takes the gloves off during the test duel (and then back again), and she also slaps her own face into a mood change in this episode. I think it's cute, but it's peculiar. |

The "smack her face to force herself to concentrate/wake up/stop thinking about something distracting and focus" thing is not unique. I've seen it in a number of places. I've even done it myself, on occasion. That wasn't a good time for her to be dwelling on her angst, so she forced herself to snap out of it and focus on the "now," which of course brought back her cheerful mood because that was the mood appropriate for that situation.

Another nice episode. The combat scene is epic and Kirito's magic blast is well done.

I can't help but imagine if Yuuki is in SAO and fought together in frontline with Kirito, Asuna, and Klein
Heck! She would be very awesome I could understand now why most SAO best fanfic always include her Perfect imouto for Asuna indeed I felt it little funny when Asuna stated that usually people defeat boss with raid teams... Isn't she forget that she only need three people (Asuna, Kirito, Klein) to finish off a boss at lvl 74? Asuna in "berserk healer" mode, Kirito slashed spells, and Yuuki's fast combo are really a joy to watch and what the hell with those random feels we got at the ending? I feel heartbroken for no reason Is Kirito the one who cooked that fish? meh! I think it's Leafa or Lizbeth and I'm glad that all SAO BGMs that I missed a lot are coming back at this episode Last edited by ~Yami~; 2014-12-01 at 09:10. |
