Definitely saw this coming eventually but I'm glad to know it's real now as being legit. The manga is also confirmed to continue.

All right, I actually lied when I said there was no new s2 news in the event streamed today (more like I was busy screaming for White Kaneki appearance).
Apparently there will be a newly created original story for s2 by Sui himself. I'll recheck the stream later to make sure I heard it right, but 2ch's discussion seems to point out I'm on the right track of hearing correctly. EDIT: They're using original drafts from Ishida. EDIT: The short PV announcing s2, courtesy of Tumblr. EDIT 2: Higher quality: EDIT 3: From Moca-News: Quote:

Took a long time until I can find a non-artifact, good version of this pic (aka I can't navigate Chinese sites so lol)
Source Second OP by österreich, titled "無能". I have no idea about österreich other than it's a solo project of ex-the cabs' guitarist (and google having fun with giving me only a country's location lol, I can't even find much with more keywords... ), but as for the vocal it will be sung by Kamano Ai from Haisunonasa. (Just search via Tumblr lol, I'm too lazy to kick my net to work anymore w) The full page pic is in the source, and you can see some screenshots of the PV shown in the 11/30 event.

That was an entertaining first episode, if not confusing a bit. I guess the confusion was that it has been awhile since the last season, and that season was so compressed. I'm not sure exactly what is going on and who are all the characters, but it was entertaining.
I do hope manga talk will be at a minimum, since people have mentioned that this story is different from the manga. It does allow for better discussions.

I was actually looking forward for the new season...after watching the first episode I'm not even going to give it a chance. There's nothing I hate more in an anime than when they deviate from the manga and this is just completely overhauling the plot, it always feels like a bad fanfic rather than a proper adaptation.
Anime viewers enjoy, I'll go back to reading the actual plot in the manga. So much bullshit... |

Honestly, I personally think this is a better last episode for s1 than an opening episode for s2. Should have used this for last season just for maximum effect
In any case, it definitely piques the interest when Kaneki joins Aogiri. Some of the cut scenes/dialogues are regrettable (Ayato's certain fate from the original being the most obvious), but considering Kaneki is joining Aogiri, I think the scenes being cut are quite a logical decision. Wouldn't think of Kaneki being able to join Aogiri if he do the half-kill to be honest. Tsukiyama saving Banjou tho is unexpected. O-o; As for the OP, imo animation is boring and the song can't surpass last season's TK unravel, unfortunately. Though I don't dislike the song itself, might give achance for the full version. And really, the OP's more suited to be an ED both animation-wise and song-wise wwww Love the ED song though! Speaking of that, higher version of the cover drawn by Ishida from Natalie: As mentioned by the aboves, different story for anime.
