that is the million dollar question my friend. I mean people get the sense that Reine is both the first spirit and Shidou's mother so that implies yes. But thats something they HAVE to address soon.

What's obivous ?
There's million ways that the author can explain how Shidou can do that. He's just a kid with special ability, he's a result of Kurumi messing timeline before, he's got into a contract of sort with either Phantom or First Spirit to gain special power, yes, even the theory of him being half Spirit.

after volume 11, all indications say yes. based upon the content of volume 11, Shidou's mother is hinted to actually be Phantom.

It's her name. There isn't a number directly in it but 2 of it's kanji are actually the parts that make up the kanji for the number 0. The kanji of "zero" (零) can be created with the first kanji of her name (令) plus the second kanji of her surname (雨). also she was strong enough to beat a bandersnatch single handedly.

I personally don't think Reine is his mother but she definitely knows more about Shidou than she lets on. It's at the very least likely that she knew him when he was still a child.

I don't know about Shido being half-spirit or Reine being first spirit or Phantom without concrete evidences but at least Reine is definitely connected with the first spirit.

The fact he is the only person who can do that, the fact he can use the powers he seals, the fact Ratatoskr is afraid of him for using angels. It doesn't take a genius to realize Shidou is not a mere human with powers.

as i stated before, the evidence that Shidou is half is actually his conversation with Phantom in volume 11. It basically screamed that it was a conversation between a mother and her son who hadn't seen each other in several years. especially some lines like Phantom not wanting it to be a mistake and such.

Phantom was quite close to Shido alright, but that does not automatically mean she's his mom.

That is stretching it too much. The conversation all but confirmed that Phantom was his mother and that she regretted abandoning him.

It is also identical to the dream he has in volume 1 where he wakes up to Reine just inches from his face. Then there is Reine's odd reaction to learning Shidou was near suicidal due to his mother leaving, The level of rage at what was done to Mana, her reacton to Shidou saying she would make a good mother.
