I find this episode absolutely hilarious. The battle-element might even be stronger than a normal battle manga. Their movements are so fast that my eyes can't catch up to them? The power ups in this episode definitely remind me of games as well, or even trading card games. Akashi turning everyone around into super saiyanjin. And Kagami reminds me of Tomoko in RKB in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax game where she can summon her teammates in her various moves. I have endless tsukkomis for this
The stance of the five players in True Zone was also funny (like a trading card ). But yes, otherwise, the animation of this episode was pretty enjoyable. And the battle-esque power ups are definitely better and more fun than those in PoT. |

the past two episodes are very interesting.. as they reveal Akashi's past.. and finally bringing the old Akashi back to the match
Putting aside the superpower stuff, I think basically the whole Seirin is just tried to match up Kagami's speed by using their instinct after playing together for quite some time... I can't help but think that this is actually a waifu war looking at Ogiwara... and how Aomine cried *possibly due to regret for putting Tetsu away from his playstyle* overall, it is an interesting match and can't wait to see the wrap-up in next episode |

So apparently, because of a soccer (or football for the rest of the world) match, the finale is delayed until Tuesday (June 30). I am loling hard right now at all the poor saps who held off for half a year and then binge-watched the third season yesterday/today, only to be thwarted at the last minute.

Apparently, the episode took place shortly after the Winter Cup. No further details as of yet.

Mm so Seirin does win the Winter Cup in the end while Akashi tastes his defeat. I think that's fitting considering all the buildup and execution towards this finale. I still liked the first half of this season better than the latter though.
Ah the memories...

Nice finale. I'm so sad it's over. Can't wait for the OVA, no matter how short, trivial it is.
I loved this series a lot, and I'm sad to see that it is finally finished. What I'm most excited for is the release of the season 3 OST. This season had some absolutely amazing OST's, which I think I prefer at least half of the time to the second season's which was already phenomenal. I really liked the ending, but I wish there were a bit more there... though I'm not really complaining, that ending was just perfect. Anyway, I really liked that teamwork at the end... and more than that, I really liked to see how every member of the team was individually crucial to their win in those last 40 seconds. Also, that part where Kuroko just appeared in front of Kagami... that's always just the best. Well, that and Riko's reaction to them thinking they had a day off. That was just perfect. My only main complaint for this third season was that they should have tried to take more episodes to animate the entire, full Teiko arc... because that was by far the best part of this series (in the manga). But they still made season 3 work just fine, so I'm happy.

Akashi & his team were doing their best to prevail.
Seirin was fighting hard too. The game was more than intense! All the sweat and hardship finally payed off for Seirin. Of course the final shot had to be made by the epic Kuroko-Kagami duo ^^ A victory well deserved. 2nd half of the episode wrapped up things & opened up possibilities for another season. Great final episode!

Wa ho! I spy a 'See You!' in that end card! Does this mean Extra Game might be animated as a one-cour or an OVA series in a few years?
I liked seeing the manga epilogues animated, since they weren't exactly circulated that widely, although the anime did leave out Kirisaki Daichi's epilogue. And speaking of the end card, is that person in Haizaki's panel supposed to be Nijimura?? Captain Rainbow! We're still waiting for you to come back one day!~ If I had to list cons though, it would be that there were a hell of a lot of pans/stills for the final episode. I was expecting them to blow the rest of their budget or something, but I supposed that happened last episode... |

The end is a nice anticlimax after such a build-up during the match
I must admit that the last match adaptation is lots better than my expectation well, it has been a nice ride anyway it is just a pity that no romance is happening in the end |

I was wondering the same thing. However, I think Seirin was pretty much taxed out, and they probably thought they would not win in overtime. Zone was already on borrowed energy and would not continue for Kagami. Hyuuga was 1 foul away from fouling out. Teppei's knees were essentially done. Izuki... not sure about him... He's fine. Finally Kuroko was... well... being Kuroko. So yeah, they probably felt that they had no chance in overtime, so tried for the win in the last second.

Even though there was some ambiguity in the lines, the photo has been speculated to be taken after the Winter Cup tournament during Kuroko's birthday party, as Kuroko's birthday is 31-Jan, after the tournament. But no one can confirm though, and Momoi's ponytail might make it seem like junior high days.
