That rescue mission certainly had consequences. So far the characters seem nice enough so I'm really just curious about what direction this story will go in.

After playing Kerbal Space Program for a while, I can't help but find shows like these extremely stupid.

I honestly don't know what route this story would take. It appears that the so-called "corporate conspiracy" happening in the beginning is only there to introduce the club's Big Boss, and the story might as well actually stay within the confines of a typical school club anime.

To be frank, there's not enough plot to make it interesting. As it is, the story is as mangled as the X-2. Worse, that running scene towards their command center is obviously repeated, which implies a possible low-budget production or a shitty storyboarder. My gosh, no wonder Kiryu is pissed.

Oh, and to those wondering, here are the countries that are shown with Martian settlements aside from Japan: Colombia, San Marino, Chile, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Ivory Coast, the Netherlands, Argentina, Liechtenstein, Sweden, Turkey, Mexico, Palau, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Nigeria, South Africa, France, India, New Zealand, Singapore, Greece and Benin.

Also, the X-2's max speed is apparently not 25km/h but 25*10000km/h or 250,000 km/h.

Every aspect is quite stable. Animation quality is good, conversation is smooth and comical. There is a little problem with the presentation for group actions and rolling backgrounds. I hope those will stay as minor problem.

Kind of surprised that it takes corporate and budget issues to the topic, but that's why there's a crisis, and that seems like something to be anticipated. There isn't much to tell about the story at this point but the way in which the events unfold is quite interesting.

Honestly rather than Valvrave or Argenvolen it looks to me more like Amagami Brilliant Park, but where protagonist trying sink department rather than save.

ABP was fun and Thu is sci-fi on boot. That's double win, isn't it?

The only thing good so far is that Mizuki is kawaii. That's pretty much it. This is a rather strange way to start off, throwing us into some serious kidnapping problem and stuff. I'm not sure I'll go any further. I was watching this for the ClariS ED and I was disappointed because this episode had no ED or OP. I'll give it one more episode. I'm not sure if it'll keep me interested.

I thought Iris was cute, but then the other protag came up. Are we supposed to find this guy cool or something? Execution wasn't the worst, but boy is the conflict of boring. Dropped.

25 "man" km/h? The speed limit is probably due to air resistance... Luckily the X-2 didn't have to slow down much at the other end of the trip. {insert smiley face here}

It's anime physics, worse still it's anime space physics. We will pass quickly over the Metroid "asteroid belt" game emulation, the lack of gravity on Mars (one third that of Earth) and so on.

Frankly this series isn't doing enough in other areas like plot, characterisation etc. for me to engage my Willing Suspension of Disbelief, even hitting the turbo button (which I will do quite happily for other series based on a terraformed Mars, like Aria which uses giant amounts of Handwavium to sidestep the anime physics problems). It's got one more episode to change my mind but it's heading for the drop if this goes on.

Crunchyroll's subbers need better ears, among other things.

That Iris sure know how to make an entrance.
Kidnapped transfer student problem dominated throughout the episode.
The prototype, space fight and setting in the future give this a chance.
Well, at least they do with me.
So far, not bad with some fun parts.
Will decide after seeing more.

I like this cool and tough Kyousuke. A guy who can whirl his cards like that deserves to be elitist.

I do respect someone that can talk their way out of a hostage situation. But....yeah not very likable at this point.

Iris seems like a fun character to have around with that level of recklessness and the teacher himself seems solid.

I really don't like those Rei types. Why are they so popular .___. Why can't I like them?! The girl should get severely punished for acting without proper orders and destroying the equipment. Why am I sure that it won't be her getting punished? And then they're shocked the guy want to downsize them… I'd close them down. The teacher really is unsuitable for this role.

The transfer student though seems hilarious and thanks to him I will keep on watching it. I really like those characters – cold, logical and efficient.

Rei Ayanami acting impulsively and without orders, isn't much of Ayanami. Plus teacher is mechanic not pilot capable of navigating through asteroid field and if protagonist were anyone else he would be dead without paying in time.

Well, he obviously has point that one life isn't worth so much money. Wow, that came out wrong lol.

Now, now. You can't put a price tag on life. So why bother paying?

The student pilot seems fun though. she keeps putting everyone on high tension with barely an expression on her face. I really like those characters – indifferent, illogical, and reckless.

I don't care about pairing, I'd like to put them in the same place so that they to turn everything inside out

The first episode . . . wasn't what I expected at all

I don't think this is my type of show after all. Based on the premise I thought this show would focus on the daily lives of working teenagers ("in the near future"). Maybe something similar to Working!. I did not expect to see space travel and a hostage situation.

While unexpected developments can be entertaining, I thought this show mashed together two entirely separate storylines in a way that wasn't at all convincing. In my opinion there was a sincere disconnect between the two storylines. The ending brought the two together in a way that was so messy I found myself shaking my head.

I'll give it one or two more episodes to see whether or not the unevenness evens out.
