I cringed a little with the chant, but nothing to drive me away from the anime. I still like the design and characters.

Episode 2
Pretty weak episode. The comedy was okay, there was more service here than the previous display. It was rather stupid, but that "stupid" didn't come off as funny all the time. I'm losing interest in this one. Maybe when it gets a bit more serious or focuses more on the world it will get more interesting.

I dunno, I haven't really seen why it gets so put down for being more comedic when we are still introducing the characters. We still get lore, we still get exposition, we still learn more about the characters along the way. There is no need for the overarching plot to be in the first couple of eps, or for some antagonist to drop just to say we got the plot rolling.

The whole "wasting it's potential on fanservice" is coming a little too fast imo, and disregarding everything else we are getting.

That said, one of the things that got my interest in this ep was Haruhiko investigating that machine, it's pretty obvious we'll see something come of that soon. The other thing is Haruhiko actively trying to develop his skills, you don't usually see that this early until the first cliche crushing defeat.

Not as much breast rubbing as in the previous episode, lots of bare legs though. I like the dynamic between the main trio so far, dunno about the new girl. Her chant seems to be something that can be easily intercepted, although that could be said about any such technqiues which needs a whateverwordtodescribetheworld Saussure has thought up. Useless knowledge trivia ftw! XD

Gotta say, Haruhiko summoning Marchosias as a cute puppy is so hilarious. But hey, at least his Phantom partner is useful on stopping a UFO Phantom!

Meanwhile, I'm hoping that Koito Minase would join Mai-cchi's group!

In this episode of the World's Most Incompetent Ghostbusters ...

They attempt to fight a small flying object in an enclosed space filled with fragile objects with a bo staff, a demonic summon that manifests as a very enthusiastic puppy, and defenestration of a team-mate for purposes of comedy.

No wonder Headphone Girl felt she had to pencil in "Insult the buffoons" into her day's agenda.

In other news, 2015's Japanese Teen Jeopardy Champion talks about destructive interference and linguistics as philosophy. The Genie of Inappropriate Comedic Timing was rather more annoying. The fanservice is still obnoxiously blatant.

I really don't know if I can sit through this one episode at a time ... might be a nice marathon series, when I can absorb the juicy plot details all at once and overlook the things that annoy me about this show.

I'll give it one more episode.

Well in this episode Kyoani didn't changed things too much, Mai got less fanservice scenes and more "feelings" development - thank god - and this was Reina's time showing how she's getting closer and closer to Haru, even getting jealous - so damn cute, jesus kyoani you really did it -.

As for the other girls and the loli, well they are just side characters forever and the worst part is how the story is just focused on 3 characters.

I must say this is the point where we can see Mai's feelings coming out - but she failed -, same goes for Reina which is pretty obvious since she already have a crush on Haru.

Other thing that can be confusing is why after Koito's debut she didnt get any time now, well the explanation to this is simple, Kyoani rushed her presentation in the story and now they can't change the rest of the episodes to fit her here.

Hmm, not much fan service this week unless the Chinese style dress count but that's more stylistic for training.

For some reason, I liked the "date" part better than the fighting since they were trying to help out with Mai's memories. No headphone girl this week but a lot of Mayonnaise-sama. The little girl with the teddy bear was kinda distracting in the backgrounds.

On the positive side one can't say they went stupid with the fanservice this week .

Was a nice episode to delve into Mai's past a little bit and also poking at Reina's feelings of being an outsider within that group. At least it covers why Mai might have had a rough time assembling a team until now. It takes certain people to deal with her overly energetic personality.

Though I suppose it might be considered devastating to some that Haruhiko was unrelated to that flashback. Does leave me all the more curious about when he met Mai and decided to create a team with her.

Just a lot of nice little things. Reina's jealousy in general. Though I'm not sure which of them she was jealous of

It was kind of fun though having Haruhiko get into the fights. And it was perfectly suited that while he had the knowledge and skills, he didn't have the physical condition to use them. But is kind of interesting that he could copy not only memories, but her power. Makes you wonder just what these special abilities are if they can be copied along with memory. Also is interesting since his true strength could be the ability for them to basically double whatever power they need for a situation.

Good third episode.

You've read the light novel? How is it and is there any actual romance development or is it purely for the comedy? Have you read both volumes do you think they animate both?

It felt more like Reina grow crush for Mai rather than Haruhiko, well not that it's surprising. Onee-san is loveable regardless of which genre you are.

As for Haru himself, it seems that in theory his power can be used almost for anything.. Not fond of this kind of powers, but if it help him to be usfull without stealing show I guess it's OK. Oh and he likes them big. Isn't that sad Sacchin Reina?

Yeah, good thing his power is flexible enough that red paint is good enough .

It is kind of funny how you can see Reina's jealousy going both ways. Jealous of Haruhiko or jealous of Mai . Though I suppose either one is ok.

What? So, all those faces Reina was making is actually foreshadowing hints.
I'm going to watch one episode by one to see how it resolves.

It is going to interesting if Haruhiko's groups have more Phantoms on their side though just like the ones that known Mai for a long time, and that miniature Phantom always with Haruhiko.

geh...looking at the hibike, the thing about reina's jealousy can be shifted to yuri jealousy regardless the original novel content, i lost my hope at that point in the hibike,

still this episode seems meh for me, i dunno, at some point i want to rush it out because i know what will happen, it's not exciting prediction for this episode (didn't read the novel). .at least it feel more bearable than kyoukai no kanata until this episode.

i still hold my benefit of doubt for this series, zero expectations, zero shipping, if in anyway the novel actually didn't have any yuri in it, yeah kyoani will add the hint and change in here and there.......
