Maybe, by the time production of the Anime began, there wasn't enough content or context for them to keep the adaptation as close to faithful as possible.
Not forgetting the fact that they dumbed down certain elements of the plot and setting. |

There are things I like about the last episode. But, I'm almost kind of pissed off at how it feels like they really think this was a good last arc for the show. Just the atmosphere and attitude of the last episode feels like a "wow we did a great job" kind of feeling. No you didn't! The last chunk of this show was utterly painful in how bad it was!
I suppose it's fine that the last episode wasn't a train-wreck, but it doesn't really save the show either. A remarkably upbeat farewell to the villain who tried to murder 90% of humanity. I'm pretty sure that "I'll be back in 1,000 years" is more of a threat than anything else. Hopefully the next main characters in that time period will be ready to murder the heck out of this guy when he wakes up . Just goodbye Sousei. At times enjoyable, but the last chunk was so darn bad and frustrating that it utterly taints the experience.

Tatara reappeared as Tatara junior. The ending was nice. I figured the writers were going to troll us with a wedding for Benio and Rokuro. Now they have 1000 years to figure out how they'll beat Abe no Seimei.

ah I finished this one....
finally the torture is over in contrary, I like the return of Kamui since I kinda missed him.. if this is last arc, then we need to gather all casts in this arc I don't hate this Abe no Seimei arc... it might walk in different path from manga, but I love every single interaction between Rokuro and Benio.. They presented it in such adult and romantic way Even the debate between the couple and Seimei is interesting enough They ended it in shounen way but I like the ending... laughed and giggled a lot in last 2 episodes They teased us with showing Chiyo at the ending part... but looks like they just hinted us to read the manga Anime might provide simpler plot, more cheerful setting, and less characters.. but at least they gave every characters their own spotlight. Some twists still surprised me especially Yuuto's part *I always believe that Yuuto would be the last boss* It looks like they planned this already from beginning so in the end it still looks somehow decent It is a pity that they didn't manage to adapt the manga but it is not bad I just got tortured by that singing Kegare and probably cheesy Sae's arc |
