And this is especially true for a teenager like Iida. Quote:
Also, does anyone know if "Ingenium" should be pronounced with a hard or a soft G? I've been pronouncing it with a soft G since it's basically the origin for words like "engine" and "engineering". I know in the show they pronounce it with a hard G, but I also know that that could just be normal "Japanesification" of a foreign word. (it took me a minute to realize that my students were trying to say "energy" because they were pronouncing it with a hard G).

New episode is out this week.
New OP and ED theme songs...nice. I liked the episode as it will help built more into the characters particular Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki. Gran Torino is a pretty cool old dude and moves faster than any other hero I've seen so far in this series. Seems that Stain doesn't like Tomura much.

The new OP and ED are finally here and theyre freaking awesome!
Deku's new form is also here and it looks even more beautiful in the anime version! My boy continues to grow. Also i really dig his updated new outfit and how it isn't as bright as the previous one. also loved the preview with Shigaraki GO BEYOND I won't go hail Shigaraki

Review up. So, new suit and new teacher. We learned a lot about One For All, as well as got to see the other students train. I feel bad for Yayorozo since she thought she was taken in despite getting knocked out of the matches early, only for it to be because she looks cute. As for Shiragaki and Stain, we can see already that just because both are villains doesn’t mean they’ll get along. Shiragaki just wants to break things, whereas Stain has a purpose to his madness.
But whoever it is that he calls master believes this is necessary to his growth, and considering the next episode has his name and Izuku’s, it’s safe to say they’ll experience plenty of that soon.

I like the sparks in Deku's body. Looks really cool. I wonder if he can go beyond 5% with this new method of his!
Gran Torino is funny and totally a "sensei" material! It would be nice to know a little bit more of the previous One for All users. Looks like he is the right man to ask about such matter. Mineta was not lucky this time ![]() ![]() |

ok...I might get a lot of hate from this, but this is still just my opinion....
I'll be honest, I am not a fan of the new opening, or the style of it - lots of still images with a whole lot of "recap" moments, only the latter half that it picks up the pace. Also the song isn't very...*how to say this*...it's not very inspiring? ![]() I know I am sounding like a jerk, but that is my honest thought. Sure, it was just the first impression, and the op can certainly grow on me, but still! ![]() but despite all of that, this episode is definitely great, good pacing and we get more progress ![]() ^ yeah, I agree that Momo has the best design, she doesn't look like a high school freshman at all, but a college student tbh ![]() *trying not to sound like a creep* ![]()

I was surprised the lightning for One for All is green, I figured it'd be red since that's the color that represented the power so war. I guess it's a way to show Deku is making the power is own.

Honestly, I liked the first opening better, the song and seeing the kids all preparing for the sports festival (wish it was on iTunes or something). The second opening is pretty good too, and its nice to get an idea of how many chapters the second season will cover, but I just still like the first one better. The ending was... unexpected. Seeing all of them as characters in a fantasy RPG was funny though, Iida's costume works perfectly as a knight. I wouldn't mind seeing a spin-off or omake of that. I liked the, what do you call it, screen breaks? The bit with the biographical info/trivial. Better than just seeing the show title again, and I always love trivia (the extra pages in the collected paperbacks are an extra reason to always pick those up).
Good episode, its nice to see the rest of the kids at their internships too. I don't think the manga covered a lot of that actually, so its interesting seeing new material (like Mineta working with Mt. Lady isn't as fun as he thought). Not to mention Shouto and his father. Tsuyu's joined the navy? Poor Yaoyorozu, that's not helping her confidence. And Bakugo's in for a hard time. Yay, Deku's finally getting the hang of his powers. I love the old crazy teacher and that fits Gran Torino pretty well. He's certainly better than All Might as a teacher, but sounds like All Might didn't really need lessons, just endless combat practice (hence the lingering terror). Even if its just 5%, if Deku is finally able to freely use One For All, that's a huge step for him. |

Gran Torino appears to be the most suitable mentor for Deku/Midoriya. He prods him to think through and gives encouragement where needed.
Iida's choice and path is out in the open for us - he really wants to go after Stain. If his brother who has more experience and knowledge could not stand up to Stain, Iida is so consumed for revenge that he does not see that he is likely to be outclassed. Midoriya's lament last episode means Iida is definitely biting off more than he can chew, so to speak. Quote:
Re: OP - prefer the previous one where the song used is more catchy and ties in more tightly to the visuals. Re: ED - the revisualisation into a fantasy theme is so spot-on. Todoroki as a prince on a white horse and Bakugou as a barbarian on a red dragon XD |

Well, this was a nice welcome back.
I really feel that we're getting to the next level here with everyone beginning to see, understand, and interact with the real pro hero world. Gran Torino is interesting. I thought he would just be a Yoda archetype, and while parts of that are there,I like him a lot more than Yoda. He's one of those who let's their students figure out their own methods on their own. This is a good method for an analytical student like Izuku, as he can figure out the method that works best for him. It's a method that is not for all students (it doesn't work for me, and I got extremely frustrated with professors who kept trying to use it on me when I already had figured out that I have a completely different learning style) but it's good for those that it works for. I like how we see why Gran Torino is a better teacher in this case, than All Might. Gran Torino can adopt different teaching styles. He knows how to teach a child who can take to something naturally, but he also knows how to teach someone who has trouble even understanding the very basics. All Might is a natural in his gift. It posses no challenge to him. And he's trying to teach based on his experience, but his experiences is very different from Izuku's. A person who is a natural at learning a subject, often has a harder time teaching it to others, because for them, "it just IS". They just know fundamentally how that thing works. I learned and can teach science and math much more easily that the social sciences, because those were challenges for me that I had to take time, cultivate, and learn different methods of understanding. The social sciences? I could do those in my sleep. The humanities? I didn't even have to go to class. It would be harder for me to teach that though, since for me, it's hard to explain to someone who is having trouble. For me, it's natural, and you should just "get it". I like that we do get to see the others as they begin their internships and we can see that they will get better because of it (well, most as I'm not sure Mineta's really getting anything out of his ![]() We also are learning more about the history of One for All. We learn that Izuku is the ninth person to receive its power, making All Might the 8th. If we calculate about each person having a minimum of a 20 year career before passing OfA to the next person, then this ability has to have been around for a minimum of about 160 years, though I'm guessing it's closer to 200 or more. Also, we see that All Might has been keeping some things secret about the past holders of OfA from Izuku. I'm thinking he's doing it to protect him and thinking about the best time to tell him, similar to what he was holding back about the eight OfA holders appearing in Deku's mind during the tournament. It looks as if Izuku isn't the only one learning more about himself, but Shigaraki is getting some training from his own master who is using Stain to help the Child of Decay to mature. I loved also getting to see Best Jeanist finally. He still has a stupid name, but I love his abilities. (also, if he's number 4, All Might is 1, and Endeavor is 2, who is #3? I don't think I've seen Deku mention anyone else in the same tier as them, so I'm wondering...) Also, I'm loving how he's handling Bakago. Bakago still keeps thinking he's hot stuff, and I love it every time someone knocks him down a peg and tells him he ain't all that and he should stop acting as if he is or he's not going to be able to grow. If someone mentally thinks their the best (and not in the self-encouragement kind of way) their pride and hubris will be the destruction of them as they won't think they have anything to learn. Bakago has learned that he's not the strongest, but he's grown up with so much praise for so long that he can easily fall back into old habits if he doesn't stay on top of himself. Shigaraki taking over the preview was hilarious and cool, especially where Deku kept trying to go beyond and Shigaraki was like "nope". ![]() As for the new OP and ED. The OP is good, better than the last one, but not as good as season one. The ED, I love the visuals though the song isn't really memorable. I especially loved the end how Deku has a sword with fire that takes the shape of All Might when he does his attack.

So all we pretty much learned was that OfA is basically just Super Saiyan mode and that being a Superhero is like any other job.
