To be fair to her IRL counterpart, she did rescue a tons of sailors on more than one occasion. Kind of a shame than she is reduced to oppai fan-service.

They could be useful on map with lots of low-armored enemy and weak fighter cover.

At least right now there is no real restriction on what you can equip CVEs with in terms of planes.
The only existing restriction is that only the crane sisters can equip Jets.

Kasuga Maru/Taiyou do have some restriction on what kind of plane she can equip, at least until Kai-Ni.

On fighters-bombers: I remember some all-hardmode guys saying that those are mostly for when you want some bombing capacity for carriers who would be otherwise reppu mules.

On CVE: We have no idea if other future CVEs will be subject to the same restrictions as Taiyou.

Moreover, we dont have a clue for possible rewards or drops beyond the two DEs and the UK DD. Only a fighter-bomber that sparkled a wave of speculation among the Japanese and oversea kancolle fans. We are getting closer to the event and can only hope for the kc twitter to feed us info soon, in their own cryptic style. Like what? 3 weeks left at least?

Well, 3 weeks is quite enough time for devs to throw some stuff. For my part, I expect to be at least 2 more ships on this event.

Well, how's the stockpile going?

For a large event, less than 5 new ship (counting drop and reward) would be disappointing. Resource wise, fuel, metal and bauxite are pretty close to the hard cap and ammo over 275K. TH question will be how much the monthly quests and maps will require this time.

I'm surprised that for the Battle off Samar they didn't consider adding the first USN DE instead. But, I guess that wouldn't make sense since they're adding two IJN DEs. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to add the USS Samuel B. Roberts as the "destroyer escort that fought like a battleship." Would be a great addition to the Destroyers (and Escorts) that Want to be Battleships Club along with Kiyoshimo and Libbecio.

I'd guess it'll be either Gambier Bay (only American carrier to go down by gunfire in World War II) or the White Plains (generally believed to have crippled Choukai with a lucky 5-inch shot to her torpedo launcher).

Depending on who you ask I think it was also USS White Plains that was damaged ("mission killed" someone called it) by a near-miss from Yamato that exploded under the ship. A shot that was from farther away than Warspite's recorded long distance shot against the Italians.

202K Ammo
146k Steel (LOL)
and 80k Bauxite

in other words real bad.
Partly due to the hotel I got to level.

I'm still wondering what other planes should I be upgrading. Already did Iwamoto/Iwai quests and gopt both max star. Maybe upgrading some T21 skilled for landbases?

Stockpiling doind well (102k/160k/198k/89k - 600 buckets), but I'll be imposible to tackle all normal with the current resources.

The zero type21(skilled) would be a good (and not too expensive) choice. Give what the next event is likely to be, seaplane fighter would also be a good way to go.
