And that's quite weird, since it was stated that Nothingness/Hope would have some sort of relevance on this arc and many elements seem to point to the movie's plot being canon to a certain degree...or something along those lines...

As usual, I liked this episode but I was really impressed with how well the drone technology was portrayed. The design was spot on for a small backyard drone and they even mentioned that it was difficult to control with the cell phone based controls. The battery life was a bit LOL, though.

That's why I'd have expected a bigger drone, with a stabilizing device for the camera. I guess they wanted something Tomoyo could carry in her pocket, instead of having a van follow her around with a fleet of full sized drones and a crew of pilots/cameramen.

I wonder if Sakura can use Record to leave a sleeping illusion in her place if she has to rush out at night. Not as good as the Mirror card, but still (not that it would fool Touya and still miss Mirror). And now we have the new Fly replacement. I like the Fly's feathery wings more, but Flight's card form as cuter (Fly was some big flying monster? It was one of the first cards captured so I forget what it looks like when Sakura wasn't using it).
Aw, Tomoyo is so enthusiastic about her recording. Well, it is hereditary, nice to see Sonomi again too. Wonder how long until she yells at Fujitaka (though the anime probably won't bring up Nadeshiko's ghost hanging around). Cool to see Sakura use her cards like that (and at last Tomoyo got to record another capture). These last two cards, Record and Flight, were certainly more harmless than the earlier ones (Flight especially seems friendly). And huh, so by now Syaoran can just summon his sword like that, just like the Tsubasa Syaoran. Well, not that big a surprise, Tsubasa Syaoran's homeworld was mostly similar to CCS too. And still we're left wondering what he (and Eriol's group) are hiding. I was kind of hoping Sakura could try a reading, but she might not have enough cards for that. And next week is an Akiho episode so should be somewhat important. Was that Clow Reed's house originally? I know Eriol lived there for a while (and the 2nd movie had something sealed there), but I get mixed up on the anime and manga details. |

You can't use two cards at the same time right? Or has Sakura just not done it yet with this set.
Cause I see potential in combining Record + Action on the copy or something. Did Sayoarn really have do a little action slash pose after summoning the sword? I know you haven't been getting much screentime, but there's other ways to vent your frustration.

IIRC, I believe she did. I remember thinking on both viewings (Japanese & English) that I expected her to get soaked again when she removed Siege and all the water from Aqua would fall down on her.

I'd been curious for a while but I really can't help but wonder whether, rather than the theory of the cards being separate from Sakura and she's just gathering them, they might actually be MORE closely connected to her than the original cards were. I mean, a few of the cards now have kind of matched up with Sakura's feelings, thoughts or experiences, like how she discovered a flight card right as she was checking out Tomoyo's new drone, or even more how she went on thinking about how useful it'd be to have a quality recording device whenever she wanted and suddenly Record shows up.
I just hope this isn't anything like the TV Magic Users' Club. I liked that series and all, but I'd like to see something more original than Sakura's magic going haywire and taking a life of its own (though something like that WOULD explain why the mysterious figure is the same height as her). |

So Eriol, and probably Syaoran, are waiting for a certain time. Huh, haven't seen that old lasin (sp?) board for a long time. At least he can finally go on a date with Sakura next time, well, until the card interruption. And Tomoyo's got matching costumes, aw. Is that an update of an old Sakura costume? Funny to see Tomoyo using a mere smartphone camera, strange to see she didn't bring her camera long for once (even if it was another easy card capture).
Another super-rich family, and plenty of clock images in that house. Too bad Sakura won't remember her dreams ever until they're not useful anymore. And new pretty-boy, hm, wonder if he's the new Yue analogue. They already gave Momo a character card (at the break), not even hiding it, huh. |

Waaaaaaaaaiiit a minute... Sakura sensed the card's presence this time? Nobody's been able to do that up until now. What's changed?
I still cannot believe that Akiho's behavior is anything other than genuine. I don't think she knows anything about Sakura's involvement in things, and I really don't think she's trying to do anything harmful. Assuming she's even aware of anything supernatural at all... I'm still running with a theory that the cloaked figure is Momo possessing Akiho's body. And... wow, Syaoran breaking out the old compass. Not sure what he's expecting to accomplish with it, though. I distinctly remember it failing to work when they tried to do anything other than locate Clow Cards with it in the past.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure there's a separation between the Akiho we see talking about having come to Japan, alone, to find a special book (I wonder just what book she's talking about...) and the Akiho-sized kid confronting Sakura. I just don't buy her being that much of an actress. Even when Eriol showed up before acting, he acted like a manipulator and a bit of a liar; Akiho acts like a total ditz. Chances are that when it comes to light she's going to be shocked that she'd been involved, in some capacity, in this fight. And in any case, I hope she's not being so forceful just because she wants to add another grimoire to her collection. At least have it be one of those things where there's something someone needs done that they believe requires the book. Again, it's a matter of how sweet and innocent Akiho and everyone else seem to be, not to mention the general mood of the series. It just wouldn't fit well to have the villain be someone who just wants power or ownership of a rare magic. |

Akiho is definitely involved, her book proves it, but I think she may be doing this unconsciously. I bet the butler is the one behind everything.
I wonder what Eriol knows, and what the "right time" is. Maybe after Sakura has collected all the cards? As a side note, I'm not sure what Sakura was thinking when she tried to use Kero has a phone strap. Of all places, she used his neck to attach him. Poor guy almost got hanged

My theory on this: Tomoyo did bring the her camcorder with her (as she does tend to bring it with her in case there's a Clear Card in the wild), with the bag being in the bag she had with her when she and Sakura visited Akiho's house. However, between the bag currently being in the living room area when Sakura sensed the card and her missing out on a number of captures recently, using her smartphone camera to record the capture is the easier way to go than simply run back to the living room to get the camcorder (and Kero-chan) and possibly miss out on all the action.

There's no doubt Akiho is connected to this. The question is to what if any degree she is aware of it. They are just dropping all the hints and such with the last episode. We've basically got the pieces in place. Akiho is at the core of this and has similarities to Sakura herself. She has a mature butler who she has a crush on (similar to Sakura's early crush on Yukito) and carries a small stuffed animal toy with her everywhere (hello Kero's counterpart). And her family is big on collecting books and she came here for a specific one. Right at the time when Sakura's cards became transparent and effectively disappeared.
I could buy Akiho being involved on an unconscious level. Thus why Sakura keeps meeting this person in dreams. The question though is what is the main goal in all this. And what is the cause of these new cards? Is Sakura's power itself creating them as a defense mechanism because her regular cards aren't usable? Is Akiho somehow creating them? Also what the heck is Eriol waiting for!? Enough of this waiting for a specific moment or the right time business. I want specifics! I do get the feeling that Syaoran knew about all this before he arrived. Could see him being told or knowing he should wait like Eriol is doing. But he just couldn't stomach sitting on the sidelines and showed up even knowing he can't do too much right now.

Eriol, being a powerful mage, probably doesn't want his entrance to swamp over Sakura's achievements thus far. It's kinda like the mentor being far off into the background to avoid stealing the spotlight from the protagonists.
Also, "Gravitation"? Talk about a mouthful for a card's name.
