Yay, series premiere confirmed for October 6. Time for the goblin slaying to start. Here's hoping its a good adaptation.

Some images of the episode shown on the AT-X channel
Spoiler for NSFW:
At least, many can rest assured that the striking scenes have been shown, of course, this was on the AT-X channel, although rare, sometimes crunchyroll shows another version. |

And there it is, the first episode came out. The pacing was nice, the animation below average to say the least, the usual material expected from this title with the rape, deaths and more. The VA choices were pretty nice, I'm not so sure about GS VA tho.
It was okay, nothing to be excited about. |

More of a 4th wall thing where I imagined the authors past where he's having a meltdown with goblins in some RPG he played. Not really related with what's going on in his story
Just watched the first episode. Really cool so far, doesn't seem to sexualize the touchy scenes as well which I was hoping for. At least there is no super obvious censorship, they handled it nicely imo. Aside of some jarring CG (mainly his armour looked weird at times but it wasn't as bad) here and there it was pretty good as a start. Last edited by SMT; 2018-10-06 at 12:42. |

Hmm, well this is a dark series as I had expected and we get introduction of the main cast right away with characters like Onna, Wizard, etc.
The action is on fire with the fighting against the goblins. Poor Wizard girl though. It seems the TV version had to tone the violence down somewhat for the episode. But in the meantime, I think it captured the mood of the series for now. We got Goblin Slayer making his appearance too of course and that's quite an impression he's made. AT-X indeed has the uncensored version and I bet BD/DVDs will too.

Let's see voice acting was decent enough, sound too and animation... well it wasn't Ufotable but I saw worse too. So far I am happy with adaptation.
Though for these who don't know original work I would like to note, first episode is probably most dark and edgy part of show. Story itself is more fun than just rape and slaughter. I promise. Edit: And for those who love rape and edginess... well sorry it's not as "great" as you might hope.
