This manga came Yoshihiro Togashi recommended and I liked the first few chapters I read, so I was looking forward to this already. But now I'm even more hyped.

EDIT: Now to wait for who the director and writer are before I can really blow a sigh of relief.

Nothing much.
I really hope the BG's CG isn't as inconspicuous as Katsugeki. The character design looks nice so far.

While I'm happy that ufotable is the one doing the anime, I want to know how many cour this would get. They later arc is what I'm dreaming to see.

Either 1-cour or a split-cour, straight 2-cour is a no-no since this is ufotable we're talking about. Still think we're guaranteed 2-cour at least even if the gap between 1st-cour and 2nd-cour ended up being longer than a season ala Hero Academia.

After that, it'll be up to the manga boosts and/or BD/DVD sales if they think it's worth it to invest more for later seasons.

I think 2-cour is a given with split, but wonder about the pacing. Since the biggest arc so far was very fighting oriented, I feel like 97 chapter is 25 episodes are more likely, than 66-69.

Personally, that'd kill the adaptation for me and for most manga-readers since it'd mean they'd need to adapt at a constant 3/4 chapters per episode. The charms of the manga relies on the character interactions and especially Tanjirou's ever-present monologue during fights which adds a lot to the suspense/intensity of it. The former option will straight up throwing them out of the window when they'll barely be able to pull it off at least in the latter option.

The series doesnt exactly have any mindblowing plot or twists (for now) and is basically doing well because of its right execution of old classic shounen tropes so rushing through the materials like that wouldnt do them any good. Since this is an on-going shounen manga adaptation where slow-paced adaptation is more of a norm, I hope that's going to be the case here.

That Giyuu shot from an ep looks great. Hopefully the chara blends well enough with the CG background in motion.

Not the voice I expected for Zenitsu and Inosuke but I'll wait and see. Giyuu is great tho.

And of course, look at that Go Shiina and Yuki Kajiura collab lol. I love both of them so no complaining here.

Seeing that this is a production directly under Hikaru Kondou himself, hopefully this will be their love project.

I really wasn't expecting a ufotable line up like that. No issues with the art direction but I don't know how I feel about Yuki Kajiura here. She does have a distinctive gothic style that would fit a show about Western medieval demons & vampires but it totally wouldn't fit here. I hope whatever she's producing fits and is not derivative because that's happened before with her. I don't know enough about Go Shiina to have an opinion: I remember Kyosogiga being good but I didn't find his scores in his other works all that memorable.

I also don't have much confidence in the director Haruo Sotozaki. I've only seen his direction in Tales of Zestria and I dropped that after the first cour because it was such a borefest going nowhere.

I'm also not too keen on who they chosen for the cast either...

It won't stop me from giving it a chance but I'm filled with trepidition to say the least.

I guess it looks good.

The art and animation is as great as I expected it to be (though if you're not a fan of ufotable's signature style then tough luck). The music is clearly Kaijura but there is that dash of traditional Japanese music that I was hoping for. Puts me in mind of what Taku Iwasaki did for Katanagatari and Noragami [EDIT] Actually, after listening to it again I'm starting to hate it. She's still using those Goddamn violins and gothic "choir" vocals...

The PV seems kinda slapped together what with the epic Kaijura music clearly not fitting the introduction of blondie and pig head: Two characters that are about 90% comedy and 10% serious. Which makes me wonder how this show will handle the comedy. Much like Golden Kamuy, this manga does have a tendency in taking some hard swerves into pure comedy. Will be interesting to see "Michael Jackson" in anime form as well.

Does anybody know how many episodes we're getting? I dropped the manga despite already being about 100 chapters in so I really hope I made the right choice.

I'd say Kajiura is doing her usual thing with those violins and choir vocals while the traditional solo vocal is from Go Shiina based on their previous stuff. I hope we will get a balanced tracks from both instead of Kajiura-dominated one from this series.

Apparently there's rumors from the Japanese who attended a previous ufotable event stating that the first-cour will cover the Spider Mountain Arc (not sure if it was stated in the event itself or what) but I guess that makes sense. Logically speaking, we'll most likely get a split-cour ending it on the Train Arc with the first Upper Moon fight as the climax. Cant really think of any better ending point to a season myself aside from that. They cant really include the Red Light District Arc too since that will be rushing the adaptation and undermine the consequence of the previous arc which is just a bad move overall imo, but who knows. To answer your question, I'd say we're getting a split-cour of 24/25 eps since Hikaru Kondou stated they're not picking up any TV anime show this year to focus on Kimetsu so it must be worthwhile enough instead of just a 1-cour season.

^Considering they are already showing Zenitsu and Inosuke in the PV, while they are debuting around Chapter 20 and just beyond, reaching the Red Light District arc is quite possible, albeit I also prefer the Demon Train arc as the stopping point.
