All those emotional moments during the sports festival, only to reveal that it was all pointless.

Iino could really have some tough times ahead if she can't resist giving in when complimented. Although it does make sense. Lot of time isolated and the way most people interacted with her was hostility. Only really had one friend and this kind of environment is still unfamiliar to her. Still...probably a good thing for her to learn to refuse .

Good thing she's got someone watching her back. She seriously needs someone on hand to stop anyone who tries to trick or take advantage of her. Seriously, I have no doubt she'd walk straight into a studio and only realize the guy wants her to be in a porno when she's already there and too scared to back out.

The last episode is quite a send-off. We get to appreciate how the Cloud (and the Internet of Things) allows us to appreciate more permanent memories, something that older phones have limited access to. I also see it as Kaguya's step away from the stringent standards her family has on her; by losing her phone and eventually allowing herself to get her picture taken, Kaguya experiences a freer life. Meanwhile, the Embodiment of Chaos struck again, this time causing a balloon burst massive enough to flatten the school. Sasuga!

Not only she recover her pictures (maybe some were truly lost, like personal miyuki photos), but she got more photos and memories, I thought hayasaka or ishigami did a back up memory of her photos without her knowing but this was much better.

Great season. I hope for a third one.

Good to see Sony phones have some kind of presence in their home country even if they're completely overshadowed and poorly marketed elsewhere. Hayasaka has a good eye for specs, it's seems.

It's an easy ship to root for. It's quite an amusing and cute chemistry that they have where they're both watching each others back (and would both be in much worse positions without the other) but they're too busy hating each other to realise that.

Overall, the second season was a substantial improvement over the first. That's kinda to be expected because this is the type of story where the gags and story lines gradually build up incrementally (much like the balloon), but I also feel that whilst the narrator was still an annoying presence, his role was significantly reduced to something far more tolerable.

Spoiler for final thoughts:

To be honest, the 2nd half of the show was really just Kaguya shrieking. And the one episode on Ishigami.
And then just Kaguya shrieking.

Also, will they actually address her ice queen past thing or will they just scatter... hints(?)... (I don't see this as something that needs to be drawn out) for another two seasons or five?

Anyhow, it was fun enough, I guess.

You apparently haven't had to deal with tech iliterate people Anything that requires more than one step, or requires going into menus is a no no for some. Hence a separate "camera" app.

@serenade_beta - Well, I'm not sure what you mean by "going into ice queen past thing". Well we have already seen why she was an ice queen mostly. She was raised in a family that values control and domination over everything else. A familly that considers empathy seemingly foreign to the point they consider it an hidden technique to feign empathy. A family ruled over by her father who has always been distant to her. As she explains herself to Papagane, before Shirogane she believed there was no such person who isn't working solely for their own benefit.
Yes there is more on characters, and new characters, but...

Spoiler for no plot spoilers, talking about manga vs anime pacing:

I'm not going to go into any spoilers, but with the recent sport arc over we are now firmly out of the fully stand alone chapters, so most chapters will pull some or multiple plotlines forward or be introducing new key characters and such, which will all be relevant for the next big event. And the manga has a pacing of it's own, where there is a steady but slow progress with a big culminatory event happening every 40-50 chapters.
Fireworks (end of S1) was 40ish chapter and end of sports arc was chapter 90.

Now this is fine in manga form since 40 chapters is less than a year of weekly chapters most of which pushed various plots forward.

But for an anime, where production but airing will probably take longer, and then months of buildup is spent in couple months before the anime ends and people only watching the anime are left to wonder if and when more will be given.

So pacing will always I feel odd and slower in the anime than in the manga, simply because of the time needed to greenlight and produce more seasons. Like to properly do the following bit and it's fallout which is even more important we'd kinda need two more cours, but since we are in no way getting 2 cour S3, world is not a just place like that, chances are good we'll get S3 but I'm kinda doubtfull about S4. And even if we get them it'll take YEARS. YEARS in animeland for something that took manga a year and halfish.

Basically every single thing anime only can ask weather it will be ever developed I can probably say yes, it will just take a LOT MORE TIME in animeland than it did in manga, which will inevitably make it a less of a payoff IMO.

All I can offer as solace is to read the manga? Fandom even made their own reader to host all of it on...

I expected the last episode to be a cooldown episode of the dramatic ones before, but I never expected the school to explode. Robert Rodriguez would be proud.

Also I wonder if the red alert on Hayasaka's headband is really a thing. "I take a nap for an hour and you blow the school up!!!"

It's pretty unnoticeable in the manga but it is there in the chapter from which first episode of this season was adapted.

finally I finished this
as expected, the highlight is the "thus, ishigami closes his eyes" arc

the balloon part is little bit absurd but considering at how great they delivered this anime, it is normal to see silly thing like that (including the shoujo part in the earlier episode)

can't wait for the third season, where everything started to go uphill...
