That video was probably something on the first 10 levels, so what do you expect, seriously. At level 7 I only have 4 abilities and there was no point on using more than 2 during a fight. The stamina gauge makes the fight go fast, this is not an action game. FFXI was really really slow compared to this. Since you say you can't remember, then you don't remember what a merit party is, but the fights in XIV are faster than a merit party and not quite as fast-paced as them since these are just the starting levels, so I can see the combat past level 30 peaking up really good, or whenever there's access to haste spells and gear. So far the combat system and speed is good and an improvement from FFXI, then again this is not an action game. Quote:
There's need to adjust monster placements as well, for levels 1 to 5 I only found a single place to stay at with about 25-30 spawns, but just add the same amount or more of players, so it took quite a bit between fights. Although I do endorse this, I do agree that an offline version of XI, I meant the same game set in Vana'diel with all the amazing missions and monsters and stuff, would be really good. |

The video was irrelevant to my questioning of the game's pace. I've been watching dozens of videos on YouTube and haven't been convinced. That said, I'm not necessarily saying it's a bad thing. I'm just sayin'. |

24-hour Beta Testing
Thursday, Jul. 29, 2010 from 2:00 (GMT) As of 2:00 (GMT) on Thursday, July 29, beta test servers will be online 24 hours a day. This signifies the shift to Phase 2. Beta testers from any region will be able to log in at any time. Announcements for maintenance etc. will be posted in advance. *Information on testing dates and times will also be posted on the official FINAL FANTASY XIV Twitter feed. http://twitter.com/FF_XIV_JP http://twitter.com/FF_XIV_EN http://twitter.com/FF_XIV_DE http://twitter.com/FF_XIV_FR Log-in Capacity During the initial stages of the beta test, the number of players allowed to be logged in at any given time will be limited, with capacity to gradually increase as adjustments are performed on server load. Should the maximum capacity already be reached when you attempt to log in, a message will appear indicating that the world is currently congested, and you will be asked to try again in a short while. At this time you will be placed on a waiting list in the order of attempted log-in time. To maintain your position on the waiting list, you must initiate the log-in procedure again within ten minutes of your first attempt. |

Why bother doing such a brutally unforgiving and horribly unfun questline for a game whose support is about to be totally and utterly dropped when FF14 comes out?
(I don't believe SE when they say they won't stop support.) Sea really isn't that cool. Unless you're a blue mage... then you kinda suck at meripo until you get sea access and can learn Disseverment... I want a single player remake of the game Final Fantasy XI. Not a totally different game that uses a tweaked version of the same graphics engine. Because the graphics engine is about the only similarity between the two games.

Anyways, they're definitely going to can that. They're going to lose all their hardcore fanbase if they implement that, and pretty much only hardcore fans, especially those from FFXI, will be the ones who are playing. |

I laugh because people are taking Sankaku seriously.
Guys, Sankaku is like The Onion, only not funny and with more porn. My guess is that fatigue/dormancy probably works in a very similar manner to World of Warcraft's "rested XP" system, in which those who play less often will receive bonus XP for a short period of time. Edit: Confirmed by my friend Nika, who is in the beta. It works like a very mild inverted WoW rested system, in which you will take a slight XP penalty after many hours of play. It's enough to be irritating and nobody really likes it, but Square-Enix is doing it to try and nudge people into "diversifying" their playstyle, so they change roles more often. If Square-Enix wanted players to be diverse and flexible, they should have just used Final Fantasy XIII's role/paradigm system. It would have been more fun, and in an MMORPG, having the set paradigm shifts and bonuses could have combined with FFXI's Skillchain system to create some interesting almost Chrono Trigger-alike cooperative battles.

I don't take Sankaku seriously but they have some true info . I know that they love trolling (+ Full otaku site)
Well , this is like an anti-powerlevel stuff . Anyway , i'm not very into this one like FF11 . FF series fit better on RPG game . Currently , the only MMORPG game which can bring me back into MMO world is Guild Wars 2 . |
