He needs to grow and develop as a character. Although he has his reasons to hate vampires and be all emo, after a while I feel like bitch-slapping him up-side the head. Well, I suppose we'll see what changes as the manga continues. Must watch what I say lest I let some manga spoilers leak....

P.S. Just cause I wanna slap the guy on occasion, doesn't mean I don't like him, so all you Zero-lovers no need to direct the evil eye at me ...

Yes, they do have elemental powers. I don't think they were revealed quite this early though. I'd have to double check. I definitely remember a later scene where Aidou traps Yuki in ice. I don't remember the fire user, but it doesn't surprise me that there is one.

I've really got to start remembering the secondary vampire characters' name.

That's the reason why I have a difficult time to like him wholly. It's his lack of initiative and stagnant wallowing in his grief. I do hope he takes action for himself or for others soon. (But where he is now in the manga, it might be tough. How's that for avoiding spoilers. )

Honestly I dunno if Yuuki will end up with anyone. If she did end up with Zero it wouldnt kill me, the boy does need a hug every now and then But in the pairings war Im semi-neutral at this point. I dont prefer one over the other right now.

The only secondary vampires names I know are Aido, Kain and Ichijou (sp??), the girls I dont even try to keep track of. Heck I dont even remember Yuuki's best friends name.

Don't blame you for not recognizing the different characters. especially if you read the manga first. i had to read it twice before i realized who was who...they all kinda look the same to me. XD

Well there's Shiki that I quite fancy. He's the one in the OP with the blood whip and kinda has auburn hair - although it looks less reddish on the Volume 3 cover - he's pretty hot...who am I kidding, they're all hot

I don't really know, I haven't seen episode 2 yet and I'm just getting my info from the manga. And its hard to tell what things are when they are in black and white.

Kaname wasn't in ring of vampires attacking Zero. I'm sure that wasn't Kaname in the ring but another dark-haired vamp. He was shorter than Kaname. His hair was shorter and lighter than Kaname's. As for who sparked the flames, I'm pretty sure it was the blond vampire that Zero flipped to the ground.

Read a few blogs on episode 2 and it seems like they are keeping a good pace with the manga. It's mostly chapter 2 with a little of chapter 3 thrown in at the beginning (flashback scene). I'm happy how they are following so closely. Even if I've read the manga, I still can't wait to see ep.2!

The "ring" around Zero was Aidou (as kind of the "ringleader"), Cain, Shiki & Rima (soo funny xD), and Ruka. If my memory serves me correct (I just watched the episode but I forgot already xD), Seiren wasn't present, and I know for sure that Takuma and Kaname were in class. We need some more love for Takuma.. I can't wait until we get to the "Night Party" chapter!!

Whenever I become convinced that Kaname genuinely cares about Yuuki, something that he says/does throws me off and I have to start from scratch again. But from where the manga stands currently, I really have no clue who Yuuki will end up with.. I sort of feel the same way as Chiibi, though. =P

At the rate the anime is progressing (one episode a chapter), I really wonder how much the series can fit.. though I'm sure it'll work out somehow since the pacing is very nice so far. Anyways, I really can't wait for the first 'major' arc (at least I consider it as the first).. though it'll take some time to get there. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, it's the

Hmm~, still seems to be a pretty interesting show. Not character-wise, just the overall atmosphere.

Zero spends the episode trying not to drink that tablet drink thing, other times he just screams at girls.
The vampires are as wonderful ( ) as ever, being so enjoyable. 死ね.
Yuki's father, whatever his name is (haven't bothered to go learn anyone's names except Zero, Kaname, and Yuki)... Meh, don't really like him. Personality-wise, nothing cute or new, look-wise, he reminds me of that guy from Zombie Loan.
Kaname... is Kaname. As likable as a green rock on the side of the road.
Surprised that Vampires here can use elemental powers, though I guess the OP does show that. Ice, fire, that's it for now.
Yuki... Points for being so nice to silent, silent Zero, but I wish she'd stop her Zero fascination... No hope here though, I guess. Hah...
Surely she's pieced together just what that tablet on the floor means... right?...

The episode would have been more enjoyable without the whole fangirling/chocolate giving/thing, but I guess it's supposed to be a comedic thing. Saa...

Ah sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant the flames behind Zero in the OP scene. XD I haven't seen ep 2 yet either - chugging down my dinner as I type so that I can watch ep 2.

I feel sorry for Zero being ganged on like that. Not only is he isolated for being who he is (*cough*) but to also be singled out and hated like that - not that he's completely innocent himself. This sure doesn't help with relations, does it? However, considering things, Zero is, indirectly, being protected by Kaname too. If it weren't for Kaname, this would probably happen a lot sooner, more often, or wham! Zero's gone. XDD

Now one thing I do wonder, how did Headmaster Cross come across Zero in the first place? Who messaged the Headmaster about Zero's incident and/or predicament?

And one last question: How in the world did his parents come up with his name Zero? :P
