Also, Luis Suarez crying and his voice breaking while saying that he has dreamed of something like this, men, it touched my heart ...

Good victory of Uruguay.
That was all Suarez, Rooney got his first goal in a WC, but was not enough for his team.

Actually he was not because you can't be offside from goal kick, or opponent player back-pass.

I still think England still have better chance, assume Italy win next match. They can defeat Costa Rica, Italy defeat Uruguay, and they will be above Uruguay on GD.

Atm, England is -2, And Uruguay is -1.

In fact if Costa Rica win today by 1 goal, Uruguay will have to win against Italy by 2 goals to go through. The opener lost of 3-1put them in real difficult position

Agreed RisingStar, England isn't out of this yet.

Poor Haak though, I bet for 10 minutes he thought his team would win this after Rooney's goal.

if italy beats costa rica, then italy and Uruguay only need a tie in the last game for both of them to go through, assuming England beats costa rica

italy and uruguay will be doing a lot of scoreboard watching in the last game

In short, no one will be out this round yet regardless Italy results. And in fact the current chance is:

Costa Rica > England > Uruguay. England only disadvantage is they have to depend on Italy while the other two can make their own miracle

England would be out if Costa Rica manages the impossible and wins against Italy.

I feel like everyone is diminishing Costa Rica, I seriously believe that Costa Rica can defeat both Italy and England if they play like they played against Uruguay, and apparently, I'm the only one who believes that

In face if Costa Rica draw with Italy, England still out.

Right, this is what I meant to say. Somehow linked England's out with Costa Rica reaching the next round while I was typing.

Luis Suarez OP. XP

Well I can't say I'm that surprised to be honest but that doesn't stop it from being any less depressing. England frankly didn't deserve to win with such a sloppy performance (and a pathetic inability to counter Suarez even when we know he's the biggest threat well in advance) so we have nothing to complain about either. Well done to Uruguay: the better team won.

I think this might be the first time ever where we'll have people from other countries actually cheering for us tomorrow.

Actually, if Costa Rica beat Italy, all that Uruguay would need to do is beat Italy in the third round which would give them 6 points while Italy stays with 3.

In fact, if Costa Rica manages to beat Italy by 3 gols, all that Uruguay would need is to tie.

You'll never know what'll happen out there.

But right now, let's concentrate on Japan and Greece.

Maybe Japan did some work on their Defense. It was just atrocious against the Ivory Coast.

don't worry you are not the only one, I don't know about Italy, but Costa Rica can win against England and I think they will.

Red Card on Greece!! Very first Red Card in their World Cup history.

They're down to 10 at the 38'.

Maybe that'll spark something for Japan.

Update:

Scoreless at the end of the 1st Half.

My goodness, the 2:1 for Uruguay was SO utterly unnecessary. Gerrard, for the love of god...

Keeping my fingers crossed for Japan!

EDIT: The penetration power of Japan leaves quite a bit to be desired...

If Japan Draws against Greece, they're practically out of the World Cup.
