Just saw ep5 and i have to say this show is getting me hooked, yet I still don't see why you guys hate Kyoshiro so much, i watched ep 4-5 and I have to say i enjoyed

When Kyoshiro lost that facade of a perfect prince and actually showed some emotion, I think that it made him more human and likeable.

But I can see where you guys are coming from cause I do really feel pity for Setsuna especially when in:

When Setsuna was begging for mana from Kyoshiro, that scene just broke my heart cause i knew that not having enough mana isn't the only thing that was bothering her, she wanted that kiss just to know that he still cared for her... That was really sad.. Also i really felt bad for Kuu too when she realised that she was in fact a AA, I guess now I'll hope that Kyoshiro can look past the AA title given to them and learn to love an AA

I do have to agree and commend Kyoshiro on that aspect, however, he is too emotionally driven. Lashing out at the very first hint of spite against anyone who mocks Kazuya, or only taking revenge as the first marked item on his list.

Sojiro may have not told to Kyoshiro outright the former's flaw of getting carried away, but the latter hinted at it to warn Kyoshiro not to follow on Kazuya's steps.

Yes, that was the third scene I forgot to mention in my last post.

It was plainly sad but despairing since Kyoshiro at the time was divided between choices; stay at Kuu's side to guard her or come to Setsuna to recharge her.

He has mixed views on Setsuna, but it is evident that he has feelings for her, though it is certain that those feelings are not romantic. The tragedy is that his rage for Kazuya's death overwhelms his sense of compassion for Setsuna and ends up treating her more as a weapon than a real person.

Mika seems a little two-dimensional right now, but I think she'll become more interesting once her motives, and Kyoshiro's motives, for Kuu are revealed.

Anyone have any idea who this shady guy is? He's in the opening, and the official website lists him as '?'. Wikipedia says he's Kuu's prince. I assumed that he was Kazuya earlier, but it doesn't seem like it now.

She forgives him ? Bleh.... ok, that was expected. What i am interested in however - how will this discovery affect her thinking, and her attention seeking from Kyoshiro - will she continue to gun for his affections, despite the fact that she's AA ? I suspect a fair bit of angst coming up.

That picture is the Kazuya from 10 years ago though. I personally think the short red haired guy is the older version of Kazuya. They both conveniently have the same shade of hair and eyes. He's also shown together with Kyoshiro in the opening.

What a dysfunctional family. It seems all the siblings have there own quirks about them. THe truth has finally been reveled about Kuu but none of us were really surprised about it. What im wondering is how important is she and what role does she play. The fact that all parties involved seem to vying for her shows she is of great importance.

I was sad to see how Mika has changed whatever conditioning she went through has made her totally devoid of any emotion.

Watching the scene with Setsuna asking for more Mana was rough. It was so obvious that it was more than that. She may be a AA but she has human emotion she can feel love, she just wanted to know that Kyoshiro cared for her. I think she wants to be treated the same way Kuu is treated by him. But she really did get her ass handed to her i wonder what they did to boost Mikas Mana so high.

I hope Kyoshiro realizes that Kuu and Setsuna may not be human but they have feelings and he comes to regard them better than just viewing them as weapons. I think he put on that facade for Kuu as not to let her know she is an AA

Yep, you can say that again. And it's not just the Ayanokoji siblings that are involved, I think there was some mention of their grandfather working on the Absolute Angel project too.

That's even more upsetting for Setsuna because she knew that Kuu was an Absolute Angel all along.

Thus a possible outburst? I don't mind if the angst is generated quickly amongst the three of them. With the fact that Kuu is an AA, suddenly betrayal or the snapping of Setsuna doesn't seem so impossible now.

Aside from that, I was wondering whether the 'prince' might be Kazuya, or a possible alter-ego. It's possible an AA's dreams might mean something more than just their own flighty imaginations (Kuu).

It's interesting that both Kyoshiro and Setsuna are child-like in their mentality. With Setsuna, she's always asks Kyoshiro if that's what he wants, and when he says yes, she seems really happy to go do whatever he wants done because it'll please him. It kind of reminds me of a little kid wanting approval and affection from her parents by doing whatever they want. Of course if he's using her mentality to his end then that's pretty cruel, like using a child's innocent desire being manipulated for somone else's selfish means. But the ironic thing is Kyoshiro himself is rather childish by blindly idolizing his brother Kazuya. Even though Kyoshiro's basicly a grown man, he hasn't out grown the little boy who fails to see the other side of the people around him.

and it hurt me to see setsuna call out kyoshiro for mana in epi 5
poor setsuna and she think it her fault that kaon got away with kuu.

We don't know yet. That's why we're eagerly anticipating the next episode tomorrow. I even get up early to see if the raws are available yet, so that I can watch it when I come home.

It seems we are all awaiting the moment when Setsuna will snap on Kuu/Kyoshiro But here is a thought - maybe part of the reason why Setsuna is always so sad when Kyoshiro seems so nice to Kuu is because she knows that Kuu is an AA, and she is sad for Kuu - she sees how happy Kuu is when Kyoshiro is being nice to her, but she knows that it is all an act from Kyoshiro's part, and it pains her to see Kuu in such a situation, when she is being blantly lied to and being used, without her realising it.

Good concept, but i doubt that it's the case, considering what we just saw in ep 5

when Setsuna was begging Kyoshiro for mana/kiss, that was obviously an act of desperation to obtain Kyoshiro's affection, i don't think Setsuna had Kuu in her mind at all, if she did then she wouldn't of asked for mana cause she knew that if Kyoshiro goes to her then Kaon will take Kuu..

Good twist on perspective but very doubtful that it's the case.

actually i think its not that likely ~ i think that not even setsuna knows that kuu is an AA tbh ~ i remember a scene (ep 5) where setsuna asks if kyoshiro must take kuu to joto aswell ~ one way of looking it would be that she doesnt want kuu to get hurt (forseeing fighting maybe?) another would be shes kinda jealous already...but if she knows that kuu is an AA then she wouldnt have been caring about her that much (probably knows that she could fend for herself if theres a real need ~ i bet kyoshiro wont hold back a kiss )

After Mika slits open Kuu's blouse to show her Zettai Tenshi mark, Kuu has strange visions of her past, and of scenes she does not remember involving a scene of destruction, a snowfall of feathers, and a strange mecha creature. Then she suddenly wakes up in class with her friend (Kozue@Satou Rina) and is so happy to be back to normal. It was all a dream.

Then when they are eating on the roof, her friend suddenly calmly says that Kuu is not as worthless as she feels, because she is a Zettai Tenshi. Then Kyoushirou suddenly seems to appear and declares that he will destroy her, piercing her with his sword. But this interlude has been the real dream. In fact she is back in Miika's palace.

Mika plans to merge Kaon and Kuu to make a super Zettai Tenshi. She believes that Kuu's weak personality will disappear completely when they merge, and Kaon will become much stronger. She declares that the ceremony of merger will begin, then suddenly changes her mind and leaves the room, telling all not to follow. Back in her chambers, she collapses, grabbing for her pills, and talks about Kaon rejecting her, and how wrong and unthinkable this is.

Then the ceremony of merger begins, but before it can continue, Setsuna attacks, followed later by Tarurotte, whom she has lured there. Setsuna is almost defeated, but summons up extra energy with the thought that she is Kyoushirou's sword, and cannot fail.

Kyoushirou rides in and grabs Kuu. At some point, we flash back to Kyoushirou telling Setsuna just to defend and play for time, since the extra strength of Kaon is unnatural and should disappear suddenly. Mika and Kyoushirou argue about whether Kazuya was good or evil. Finally, Mika says "join him in hell and find out," and fires a shot that Kyoushirou is able to stop with his sword. Kaon erupts into greater force, and Kyoushirou says: "It has begun." He leaves, rescuing Kuu.

Mika berates Kaon for letting them get away. Who ordered her to stop the attack? Kaon says she has no excuse and Mika should punish her as she wishes. Himiko says she was just trying to protect Mika, and gets slapped for her pains.

Later, resting after the battle, Setsuna is weak and asks Kyoushirou for an infusion of power (i.e., a kiss). He asks her to be quiet (i.e., rest) for a while, turning his full attention to Kuu. Kyoushirou and Setsuna admit that they both knew Kuu was probably a Zettai Tenshi, and wanted to take her to a school (not sure which one) to finally test if she was.

Kuu's weeping is thin, awkward and totally heart-rending. "I am a Zettai Tenshi and not a human being, and yet I can still weep. Isn't that strange? I'm not human. No! I don't want this. I don't want this." And she grimaces as she lets Kyoushirou enfold her in his arms.

ohh yea it was painful but i really didnt expect that she would breakdown to that stage and go as far as saying "i want to be human" in a sense that makes the AA look like monsters >.< kinda selfish imo...and with setsuna in the BG all battered saving her ass its not all that encouraging ~ but i can feel for kuu and why she said it ~ i guess its kinda like a double edge sword ~ at that time kuu was unstable so maybe she said those things without a second thought ~

as for the ep id say its pretty dramatic ~ seeing kuu getting mind hax and traumatized was bad for the soul imo >.<

and poor setsuna...she tried soo hard but still gets her butt kicked in by kaon ~ its no contest even if its 2 vs 1 ~ and for kyoshiro to not heal her first thing is evil! (tho at that time he was more worries about kuu's well being setsuna is in pain >.<)

the preview...we see a scrap book with a heart diagram and some kanji (i cant read lol) ~ i guess its something like kuu X her prince ~ the next second we see setsuna's mecha hand chopping it O.o shes near the edge i tell ya >.<

Kuu saying she wants to be human is pretty obvious, the fact that someone mentioned before, that kuu being human was the only thing that put her above Setsuna, in terms of competing for Kyoshiro and her constant idolising of Setsuna as a princess, she feels that being human is the only upperhand she has on Setsuna (also the ultimate upperhand). When she discovered that she is a AA well it means that she is now on even terms with Setsuna, (from the preview from ep 6 that Setsuna is now on equal terms with Kuu lol ANGST), now Kuu feels that she can't compete at all. As the thing that proved to be her ultimate advantage against Setsuna, turned out to be false and her being an emotionally weak girl.... Well that reaction was obvious.
