^While they were meeting with the god-being thing, their abilities were in physical form. Or more like everyone there was in a spiritual form.
All Hayato had to do was take the sword (ability) from Kurando's hand and complete the summoning to the...ground? Come to think of it, I don't actually know the planet's name. Oh well. He still got the hero blessing like everyone else, which is basically can talk/read in every language and a small growth boost. And there is kind of snusnu. He does it with the blonde chick on the fourth cover. There's essentially no romance, at least so far. But yeah there have been a couple of girls that seem mildly interested but it never goes anywhere before the protagonist leaves the area. When Kurando first gets summoned, he's in the middle of snowy mountain in the middle of fuck-nowhere. There he notices a giant snow leopard watching him with a pitying gaze (because Kurando was struggling just to walk through all the snow). Eventually the snow leopard forces her way into the cave he was staying at and occupies a portion of it. Kurando just deals with it and more or less ignores her. Eventually she gives birth to Yukishiro and Mother Leopard forces Kurando to meet newborn Yukishiro, and the day after birth hunters come by and hunt Yukishiro's mother, but don't notice Kurando or Yukishiro through the snow storm. So Kurando raises the not even 2-day old baby snow leopard he names Yukishiro and they've been together since. |

He doesn't have stealing powers. He was just able to steal the protagonist's at the time; anyone could have done stealing at that time, including the protagonist.
There is another hero who apparently has a monster taming ability, but he's shown up for all of 2 lines and hasn't been important in the least. |

Do we ever learn why the "hero" did such a move? (Stealing the sword)
Since it was mentioned that he was the son of the principal, I assume he was a random "I was born better than you" prick, but did the later chapters mentionsome insight into his character? Or is he just a 2-dimensional antagonist with little to no growth unless it is required by the plot? |

He originally was a selfish nobody and stole it because he wanted to be better than others.
He later apparently awoken to the good guy in him and began to enjoy helping people. He feels sorry about stealing it but doesn't regret it because it was useful in helping people. He's still selfish, just in a different way and justifies anything wrong he or his companions might do as their previous achievements should be enough to make up for it. For example, he apologized to the protagonist but couldn't think of any way to make up for it at all. He's still overall a better person than he was when he stole it. It's hard to even call him an antagonist since the protagonist just wants nothing to do with him and he doesn't want to be involved with the protagonist either. |

Yeah, her guardians know. Happened in the middle of town with more or less everyone watching. It's why he chose the form of a duel instead of seeking legal action; he wanted to put an end to it himself.
Her actions were also political cause for concern for the religious group sheltering her, but it got covered up by a well–intentioned third-party. Covering it up leaves a bitter taste for the protagonist, but understands why it was necessary and doesn't fight it. |

Well, the head priestess is the one who gave it to him, and another priestess is more or less the one that took it away.
She still honors him but the whole point of being an honorary member was to use it as political backing that he simply didn't have, but now that's gone. The only thing he has vouching for him now is his Hunter rank and history as a Hunter. He doesn't fuss over Hunter rank at all, by the way. In fact, the bat lady on the volume 3 cover that he made into a hunter and trained as such actually becomes a higher hunter rank than him. Granted she got a special promotion due to an emergency quest and Kurando's been doing the normal path. There's plenty of news about other students. Spoiler for :
