The manga is easily one of the most brillant works of man ever created and I can't wait for this series. The battle between Lust and Mustang in particular. |

Hmm, while I am glad to see that we'll be seeing a new series that will be following the manga plotline hopefully as much to the letter as possible, I do hope they manage to get through the material that was already covered as well as possible.
I have to wonder if all that would be a bit weird for the cast if several of the same people get their roles back and then find themselves doing similar dialogue and events. Of course, once we get past all that it should be just fine. I'll be looking forward to this in any case. More Fullmetal is always good for me and there are some scenes and events I'd like to see animated.

The March issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine will announce on February 10 that Romi Paku and Rie Kugimiya will reprise their roles of the Elric brothers Edward and Alphonse in the new television version of Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist "dark fantasy" manga.

Loved the first series of this show. Though I know that it didn't follow the manga that well, I felt they did a really good job making stuff up. They had me convinced.
From what I saw in the promo the animation does not look as clean as in the first series. One of the reasons I liked the first one was that the animation was so clean and well done, this one looks like it might have been made years ago (Again this is only my impression from the first promo of only 20 seconds long). Hopefully I will be proven wrong once the new series comes out. Finally, though I never read the manga, I saw a bit from it and it looks much more dark and intense than the first series. Am I right with my impressions of the manga?? Looking forward to new characters and hopefully more action. |

Hmm, I wouldn't actually say it is much darker than the original series. There are a few things that a bit more intense as there being more at stake. Several bits are quite a bit more gory than they were before and other things are in much more detail like Ishbal (or however the correct spelling of that is).

still not sure what to make of this honestly.
isnt like half of the plot revelations already in the first series, only done poorly? its been years i saw okay, but sitll, the manga plot better be really good in comparison, because the anime left a very sour aftertaste. |
