But anyone with a multiple personality disorder prob had a lot of trauma in the life causing the split. This show is adding a bit of realism with school reactions in it so flexiblility is not the order of the day here.

So Meme has a stalker and water is wet lol. Though, I dont think she is stress due to the stalker though. Maekawa's parent owns a bar? where is my black bunny suit Maekawa?! Niwa Makoto, where is your freaking teenager hormones? A sparking pretty girl wants to wrap in your futon and leaves the scent there for you to masturbate and you refuse? Makoto in School Days must be rolling at the floor of the ocean for sharing the Makoto with you! So the adults (Meme and Maekawa) leave the house so the children (Erio, Makoto, eand Ryuushi) can sort things out? Nice move, Miss Smooth and Silky! I hereby commence the cat girl fight! Just make sure to tear only clothes and not skins okay? |

Grandma got it right. Today's friends can be tomorrow's enemies. So don't worry about having friends or not having friends or being alone. Just do what's right.

And I may get off track here, I dont know if blood is thicker than water or not, I am pretty sure there isnt a shortage of betrayal or conflicts within family members IRL and when it comes to it, the only one you can trust is yourself. |

Um... I was simply saying there have been other anime with characters who had actual disorders or mental illness and used Mahoraba as an example. Just to say it was within the realm of possibility, not comparing the specific type of disorder.

Erio doesn't have a "whole society" against her in the title just one little town. Erio and Meme should just move to another town if Erio has problems getting back into society. Blood is thicker than water. It's when you forget about your family that's when you really get into trouble as your family is the one that unconditionally accepts you in most circumstances. (Excluding the dysfunctional ones that are out to get you in one way or the other.)

Despite her cuteness, Erio is still somewhat annoying, getting better though. Ryuushi being jealous of Erio was quite hilarious, it was like kindergarten. As for Maekawa, I don't know, she looks like having more fun observing and teasing everyone else. But yeah, best part was mochi-mochi sensei (somehow translated as miss)

I love it that there is so much serious stuff lurking under the highly comic surface here. It floored me that Makoto would start seriously considering the idea that Erio is bad for his school life -- but it's something the guy who counts up "youth points" would really do, and it's perfectly reasonable, in that Japanese context.
I was also floored that Ryuushi would go so far as to try to pry Makoto away from Erio in such a low way, but that is also reasonable and likely. However, it was great to see her wrestling with her evil intent, and incapable of hiding it from Makoto. I did say earlier that I loved the animation touches here, and I do, but now that I have seen a full-size version, I can see places where the drawing is pretty off: legs in particular. No wonder they needed four animation directors to check things over. These standard Shaft TV-version problems are, of course, a big topic of conversation in the world of 2channel, where this show still continues to limp along in about eighth place among this season's shows. As for Maekawa, she does just get better and better. Not just her actions and personality, but the excellent work of her seiyuu, the relative unknown Fuchigami Mai. I don't know what kind of range she has, but she's just great in this role. She did a radio show with Oogame Asuka (Erio) in 2009-10 and has had a dozen or so minor roles from 2009 to the present, including several in Sora no Manima ni. But her main named role was as Asagiri Kaname in the forgettable Ookamikakushi. She attended the well-known Yoyogi animation school, and was with a branch of the Sigma Seven agency for a while, but is now independent, it appears, which seems like a disadvantage in her career. Spoiler for pics of Maekawa's seiyuu:
But no matter how good she looks and acts, and how interesting Ryuuko is, Erio appears to be entirely composed of female pheromones. How could any male possibly resist her physical presence, in the long run? I expect to see Makoto with his face buried in his futon, before long.

If they don't know anyone anywhere else, moving can be just as costly. Why should they leave a town they've been living in for a large portion of their lives to go to a new area with no one they know? When Makoto moved, he at least knew of Meme. Does Meme or Erio have any other place to live? |

Again, just my two cents - I've decided to just accept the series as is, and enjoy it in that mindset. And there's lots to enjoy.

It would be a kicker if the guy that stalks Meme is actually her husband, and he is just there to check up on Erio. I wouldnt give that pass this show lol |

I loved how Erio tried to convince him to let her wrap herself in his futon by telling him her scent may stay on it. She knows him very well already
I'm sure he would have let her do it if Ryuuko and Maekawa hadn't been around. This episode was very enjoyable. I'm liking Maekawa more and more. She's very assertive and doesn't care what other people think (if she did, she wouldn't even do those odd cosplays in the first place lol). On the other hand, I was a bit disappointed by Ryuushi's attitude, but I can understand it. Jealousy can be very hard to control. I hope she'll eventually overcome that jealousy as well as her fear of society's judgement and befriend Erio. The dialogues seem to be getting better -loved the conversation between Makoto and the old lady- but there are still a few lines that are completely random and make no sense. The wordplays are pretty poor too. I know the author is a fan of Nisio, but he's nowhere near close to his level of wittiness.

Haven't been watching past Episode 1 (and havent read the rest of the forum just in case I do want to pick it up again) because unless its handled with taste and sensitivity, I personally find that bad-parent characters in any medium make the show in question an uncomforable watch.
The worst part of what I seen so far, the violent abuse and cheerfully casual neglect on the mom's part is played for laughs. Is she ever going to show ANY love, affection, kindness or even BASIC ATTENTION towards Erio, or should I just drop the series now and save myself a lot of spitting at the screen?
