you could tell she was completely resentful of him after he sent her away.

It's noteworthy that, as far as the books go, we're seeing things from Tyrion's perspective and he's not a reliable narrator - none of the viewpoint characters are, and Tyrion in particular is prone to thinking the worst of people at that point.

It's impossible to really know why Shae betrayed him. Resentment may have played a part, but she's never struck me as the kind of character to act on resentment, and even if she was, she also implicates Sansa, and she's never shown any kind of dislike for Sansa. Cersei might be offering her money for it, or she might be being threatened - it could go either way.

I have the feeling that she was promised that Tyrion would live if she gave the testimony that she did. I'm betting that she didn't do it for money, but for love of Tyrion.

Caveat: I have not read the books, and it's entirely possible that I'm wrong.

If she was going to Risk her life staying there or running away, she should have had no problem risking her life saying the truth.

I will admit I cried manly tears. Because I have been put on trial like Tyrion had before. It was disgusting to see someone go against someone was clearly innocent. They already deemed him a monster before the trial started and that position, that broke my heart.

She couldn't have just went to the place tyrion gave her. But no, she's a blind idiot who didn't see he was sending her away to make sure she lives SO when things have calmed and if he survives, they could be together.
Oh, there's resentment in plenty. She's pissed off big-time. Cersei no doubt threatened her, but you can see Shae is getting real pleasure out of this as well.

Indeed, the actors themselves say Shae's confession was one part Cersei threatening her and the other part revenge for Tyrion sending her away and hurting her feelings.

Part of Shae's resentment I think is because she rather adamantly suggested that she and Tyrion should leave Kings Landing and go to Penthose and leave all this shenanigans behind, for both their own safety. But Tyrion refused, wanting to play the game, something that finally he felt he was truely meant to do...then later he sends Shae off forcibly while he stays with his teenage bride. It's not THAT hard to see why she feels scorned in this circumstance.

There's also the matter of coercion from Cersei.

But he can't "LEAVE" so easily... He'd be hunted down... dummy Shae didn't realize this and her defenders don't either.

What is the point of hunting him down?
Tywin will throw a party if Tyrion just disappear

Tyrion didn't go because he can't survive without being a Lannister.
Without gold and the influence from his family name, he is nothing.

That's what it comes down to me. She's a well written stupid character.

IGN is a bigger whore than Brae, This is such a obvious click whore video that....that I'm gonna share it...because apparently they are so close to getting thrown into the streets to beg for money.

Everyone knows 5 reasons and MORE why Tyrion got screwed over... Don't need to slap a pretty face on a video telling people like they are all MORONS how he had a unfair jury.

.....that #@^!ing smile.......

There's some minor differences in the script, but what really makes the show better is Dinklage's performance. I knew it was good watching it, but when you compare it to the written form, you really realize how much he made that scene. Oh, and, as a non book reader, I read that in my head with Dinklage/show Tyrion's voice.

The choice of words is what did it for me really. The written material didn't have that "omph!" factor, it felt a little dull. Although Peter's delivery is spectacular, the script helped as well.

You can't deny "Watching that vicious little bastard die, gave me more relief than a thousand lying whores", sounds a whole lot cooler than just "get this lying whore out of my sight"

Such a simple edit, but damn if that didn't make me laugh hysterically. Perfect.
