Just saw the first episode, as a light novel reader the adaptation is rushing the source quite a bit, the QUALITY is not helping either.
I'm kinda disappointed about this adaptation but hey, is JC Staff and we all know that expecting a good job from this studio is like expecting a miracle these days. I just hope the next episodes aren't this rushed. As for the VAs, all of them were pretty good, especially Mamako and Masato. |

That was eventful. Not quite sure how I feel about it or how good it will end up being. A tough spot in some ways for both main characters. Kind of tricky to get into the adventure for Masato since he is with his mother. Plus she completely outclasses him in the combat side of things which I'm sure does suck a bit of the fun out of actually getting into that situation.
But at the same time it's tough on Mamako since her son ends up pushing her away for reasons she can't really understand. She is putting herself out there going into this situation that is pretty alien to her. Just wants to make her kid happy and get along. It was alright. Didn't blow me away, but wasn't bad.

I have only seen the Manga adaptation of this series, so compared to that, it seems the flow of the story is somewhat ok (though still faster).
As for the plot covered, well i think they skipped some initial points before the Summon/Sent part. Overall, the first episode felt ok. Side Note:- Why isn't this thread moved to the "Current Series" section yet?

Having an anime where the "Main Heroine" is the MC's mom is an interesting twist on a tried-and-true genre, while also fitting for one that seems to be as tongue-in-cheek as this seems to be. And not only is she a mom named Mamako, but 70% of her lines involve her saying "Mom." Plus, she's adorable, so you've gotta love that .
Ai Kayano does a great job playing a youthful and adorable mother figure . Ma-kun being so gung-ho about getting to go on an Isekai adventure was pretty humorous, only for his dreams to come crashing down when his mom joins him. I expect that will happen more and more to him over the course of this series . Man, whoever's behind this seems to be going to a lot of trouble to fix this game up and fix the relationship between a mother and son . Dude, you don't get to disown your own mother like that. Especially not with that attitude . Well, that's an interesting new premise on forming a party/Harem. It's the mom finding good girlfriend/marriage candidates for her son .

That can't be her real name...
Pretty decent episode and easily the best isekai out this summer, which isn't hard thing with competition being what it is. That said I'm insure if I will follow this. Sure it got some laughs from me, but there is really nothing compelling to stick around. The plotline is large one giant gag and not much else. I can see it getting old unless they get really creative or stop leaning into so much as first episode as this was doing. Then again I wasn't into Konosuba's first episode either but it's comedy started to hit it's stride once Megumin showed up. At least it's surprisingly wholesome for the most part. |

I haven't watched this series yet, but I want to ask.
What is this Mom like, is she something like "Megumin", or rather normal? Unless she isn't on the level of Souji's Mom crazy from Ore Twintail series, I'm not thinking of watching it. |

I think you guys are too hard on Ma-kun. Dude is acting like a regular teen boy who is out of his mama-phase and want to be his own man. Before he fully grows up and realizes how good he had it as a kid with a mom doing anything for him... though with this mom I am bit worried about using the word "anything".^^;
Mamako (is that really a name? Mama-ko? lol!) looks more like his big sister than his mother. I saw no husband/mention of a father so she might have gotten him very young with the father bailing as quickly as possible (what an idiot). And I can understand Ma-kun. The thought of entering a videogame for real is AWESOME but the thought of having to babysit your mother through it not so much. If I think about the games I played as a teen and trying to imagine coaching my mother those games, I get shivers.... "Mom, you need to last hit the minions else you get no money to buy items for!" "Use your W skill! W skill! W! W! W! WFffffffffffffffff-" "Stop pulling aggro, mom, don't do a Jenkins on us!" "Why in gods name are you using THIS weapon when you are THAT class?" "You need to build that building ON the gas tile else you cannot get gas..." "Build tanks, where are the tanks? Mom! Where are your TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANKS?" Oh god.... And then said mom being a walking cheat that basically one-shot EVERYTHING with one hit while your hits are regular hits, yeah, I can see that put a huge damper on his mood when finally be able to enjoy a new cool game he can brag about to his friends. Gotta say though Mamako is adorable. Dumb, but adorable. Also very loving, like very very loving. As in the doujinshis are basically writing themselves. Will be interesting to see what girls fail the Mom interviews and how the other 3 got through it. After all, the way Mamako worded it she is basically looking for a girlfriend/marriage partner for her son for his party. xD
