So it seems that Akiyuki will have to go as a fully transformed Xam’d to fight Furuichi. I did find it interesting that Furuichi still kept his face as a Xam’d though.

Possibly, yes, althrough I suppose it's possible that he'll only fight with his arm as usually - though that'd put him at a disadvantage here (his opponent is an Xam'd after all).

I doubt she's dead - the preview at the end of episode 13 has her kneeling on the ground looking dishearted, so my guess is that Akiyuki'll get her out and then he and Furuichi heads off to fight each other...

He already showed that he can do well with his arm, but I doubt he would be able to handle Furuichi flames of love with only an arm.

That's probably true. So maybe this time around Nakiami will have to tell him how to fully transform... or maybe his hiruko will. At any rate, it'd be nice to see him transform fully - we haven't seen that since episode 1-2 after all

I'm pretty sure that it will be his hiruko, because in the preview, Nakiami seems to have been knocked out by one of Furuichi tails. Though I'm sure that it will be one awesome fight between them
By the way, did you find any news about a new opening for the second half of the show? Knowing BONES, the opening changes mid-way of the show (unless they want to pull another Soul Eater and let us wait another month and a half for it <_<)

Haven't heard anything, alas. With Bones it's a bit hard to tell - in my experience they'll mostly they'll keep a single opening through it all (RahXephon, Angelic Layer, Chiko - and Soul Eater or so I hear) - the only exception so far that I've seen being Eureka 7 and Darker than Black. So I find it likely that they'll keep the current opening (especially since people in general seems to be satisfied with it) that than come with a new one...

I suppose she could have got up again, but the impression I have is that Akiyuki will have to fight alone.

Fight alone, perhaps - through that doesn't exactly excluse Nakiami from giving him a hint or th elike - or be of help at a later stage. but we shall see.

Well, some anime series do get late new openings - perhaps that's the best we can hope for here if we want a new OP (or a new ED perhaps)... Though I still doubt it.

Amusingly, in the Japanese PSN store episode 13 is advertised with a big: "Now caught up for simultaneous North America and Japanese release!"

So they obviously really were doing double releases and delaying the release of episode 13 until the releases in Japan caught up.

Yes, it premiered on the USA PSN first and only started airing on Japan's PSN in September. Then they put the US release on hold so that Japan could catch up to us. They finally did, so we'll be getting a new episode next week. So excited for it!

I only knew that Xam'd premiered in the Sony PSN but never imagined it was first a USA release before a Japanese broadcast.

Anyways, I feel good that a new episode has come.

My disposition and actions would have been the same as Akiyuki, returning to my hometown in order to let them know I'm still alive and settling out any pending businesses.

Akiyuki came back in a bad timing, although Akiyuki should had made use of common sense after his last encounter with Haru.

Haru is a soldier and torn inside with conflicting feelings about wanting to see Akiyuki again and disdaining him since she has barely coped with her current life as a soldier.

His home return was somewhat imprudent, since the military is stationed in Sentan Island

And, honestly, why didn't Akiyuki pay visit to his mother first?

The whole focus of the episode delved around Mrs. Takeharas' illusions about expecting to be reunited with her son, and her mothers' feelings were dramatically fleshed upon the audience.

The reunion with his father was dried and out cold, as if Akiyuki never left in the first place, however, it is interesting to note that Dr. Takehara is too well acquainted and familiarized with the Hiruko that does not come as a big shock surprise to see it for himself on Akiyuki's arm.

A solid episode for dramatic purposes, ending with Furuichi unwelcomed storming in...

The guy that went downhill more for the reason that Akiyuki supposedly stole Harus' feelings and his mundane, everday life at Sentan Island.

A guy that supposedly believes he has caught up with Akiyuki being grafted upon him the same power of a Xam'd.

It was established that Dr. Takehara invented the currently-used humanform weapons. What really surprises me is that he knows the whole religion / mythology / etc.

Just saw episode 14. It has got to be the most twisted episode (in terms of turns of events) thus far, indeed. After all

Furuichi is dead by suicide, Haru is in a tight spot and Akiyuki is captured (by what appears to be humanform users from the north?) and suffering from amnesia to boot! :blink

Judging from the preview of the next episode, the plot may focus on the North after this though...
