hi clem-kun, here's my critique again~~ I'm concern that if you decide to translate everything from literal katakana pronunciations because this series is full of english names. the first thing i've already seen is Reona/Leona. Later there will be names like ABAN, MI-STO=BAAN, HYU-NKERU, POPPU, KUROKODIN, etc which I hope to be translated to Avan, Myst=Vearn, Hyunckel, Pop, Crocodine, etc (notice if you take MIS-TO BAAN instead of Myst=Vearn, it'll sound really strange... Mr Bean?) my two yen.. hope you guys can take note of these~ =) |

There's some official name translations in the manga for anyone that doesn't know ;p.
Although, there is one that I disagree with and that's Avan Strash (official). It should be Avan Slash ;p. Grand Cruss vs Grand Cross was also another. I was referring to someone else gee. I must've accidently quoted you when I made the reply. |

Hm, doesn't "Maou" (King of Evil) refer to Hadler (or Hadora, whichever)? I remember watching this anime when I was little (I still remember the corny opening theme the brazilian dubbers cooked up for some reason), and I always thought the robot that shows up in the second chapter belonged to Hadora.
I just thought the "Satan" thing was strange, that's all :/ |

Este último link que eu mandei é em português. Tem até o sómbolo do sbt no canto.
Achei no site do supernova, disponível na página do animeforces. Translation: This last link was the portuguese/brazilian version of the ten first episodes. Found here: http://www.animeforces.com/ |

It isn't licensed in English so I'm going to move this out of the DVD section in a moment. If you speak Portuguese, Italian, Spanish or French you might be able to buy it, though I have a feeling it was only ever broadcast in those languages in their respective countries.
As for the English fan sub, you'll just have to wait. It has been a long time since they released an episode, but it happens. They are still doing the project so you only need to be patient. |

Surprised no one bumped this. At anyrate, we released episode 5, after a year and a month later. We may release episode 6 soon (in a months time). After that, everything just depends on if we can obtain the raw for episode 7 and up...

Reading about this series brings me nostalgia. Eleven years ago it was broadcasted in México by TV Azteca under the name Las Aventuras de Fly, which is a correct translation to "Dai no Daibouken" save that Dai's name was changed to Fly for the Spanish dub. However, everything else remained unscathed.
At the time the anime was released it was prior to Mexico experiencing the full boom of cable TV networks, and I was still one year to become a full-fledged, active anime otaku. Until this date, the anime's status in México remains either inactive or cancelled owing to TV Azteca owning the licensing rights and their unwillingness to either renew them or sell them to cable networks like the LatinAmerican Cartoon Network or LatinAmerican Jetix. My only complain I ever had for Dai was the anime ending without a proper closure at some point where it's clear that the story goes on. If anyone is interested in Dai and wants to know the real ending, then follow the manga afterwards once you're done with the anime. The manga picks on where the anime leaves, as it runs for 37 volumes and the anime adapted from volumes 1-10 and the first half of volume 11. |
