I've only seen up to episode 25 so far, but I'll have to give it 9/10. Not much to say about it since everyone has pretty much said it all. But what stopped it form getting a 10/10 from me was that I felt that some of the episodes tend to drag a bit, and didn't grip me that much.

I totaly agree w/ Kashima! What an absurd to say Monster is at the same level as Naruto
Monster is a thousand times better!! Of course the manga is also much better than the anime cause it doens't contain fillers So when i gave it a 10 I was thinking about the manga... I never got to watch the entire animated series. |

Now there may be episodes that are "filler" in the traditional sense that they aren't taken from the manga but created especially for the anime. I wouldn't know. But for a show as long as Monster, it's remarkably free of "filler" in the sense I first described.

And having watched the anime first and read very little of the manga later, I'd agree that there are not really episodes I would qualify as fillers. After all, part of the beauty of Monster is that even the minor characters' fates and personalities are shown in meticulous detail too, enhancing the overall impact of the series. The presence of the main characters changing the lives of oher characters is one of the major themes of the series, one can call it filler, I think it was very much necessary to have plotlines like Tenma meeting and helping out the young illegal surgeon wannabe.

Yes Monster is definitely way above onepiece/naruto/fma. While those are good, yeah, if they get a 10 then I'd even streach monster to a 22-25. It's that much better. It has the very best character development out of any anime. The story is amazing. The suspense parts were one of the best ever in an anime. And to top it off, they gave so much information that anyone could delve onto it and live off it for a life time.
This is truely one of the greatest animes ever made. Period. |
