Heck Eastern Europe football is hell more interesting to watch than EPL.
There's no player rolling around in the floor every 2 minutes looking for free kick/ penalties. Then there are lots of running and tackling instead of lone striker holding up the ball looking for foul/ corners or defenders defending by shirt pulling/ climbing Edit: sadly this style of football won't win them anything. Not dirty enough to be competitive. I means staying down, drawing yellow cards and get a free kick near the box gives much winning chances than staying up and fighting through horde of defenders

Wow, today has been a great opening day for the Euros. The first match was actually rather poor (many thanks to the referee) but it makes for a very entertaining watch. Greece aren't that good but gotta give them credit (economy joke redacted), they fought hard, even better with 10 men. Poland has some good players but poor mentality, when Greece starts being aggressive they really buckled under the pressure.
Now Russia on the other hand, pretty much can win the group, great play. They need a better striker than Kerzhakov though (thankfully, Pavlyuchenko made for a great substitute, he'll probably start against Poland) and their defense can be a bit suspect at times (Czech's single goal). Might be difficult when they play a really good team in the knockout rounds. Czech's defense is horrible, might still have a chance against the other two to pass though.

Robbens chance.. He hit the goalpost... He Robben, did that remind you of something?
Netherlands played not bad, but they couldnt get the ball into the enemies goal. They almost played like Germany. Rushing for dinner and now then going to watch the game Germany vs Portugal.

Netherlands played great football at times but were unlucky at converting their many chances. Denmark bunkered as expected, got their goal and held on for dear life.
Refereeing was decent on the whole but did not dare to make the call at the end after a clear handball in the 16. |

Now that is funny. Depending on what happens next it could be Russia - Netherlands, again. I bet they want to trash us for what we did 4 years ago.
Or it could be Russia - Germany. (on June 22, yeah, awkward)

Germany versus Portugal was dire, except for the last fifteen minutes. Portugal was too careful for a long time and lacked an ability to finish.
As speculated, when Germany can't depend on their ability to counter, the side looks fairly inept. It has no real ability to break down a defensive side. I can see all four teams on three points going in to the final match of the group stages. |

Germany played like i expected. (...)
But both teams were good. A 1:1 would be also statisfying but in the end, Germany won. In the first game of an tournament, it doesnt matter, how you win. You just have to win.

I already got the feeling that the games today won't be as exciting as yesterday, but it's still disappointing. Netherland in particular really screws up their chances, RVP and Robben in particular being major flops. Really, at this rate they might not even get out of their group, Portugal and Germany seems to play better. Speaking of which, Germany is really lucky to be able to snatch up a win. Credit where it's due though, Hummels and Neuer has been great, and Boateng did a great job keeping a tight leash on CR7. What would be really interesting, is if Netherland beat Germany and Portugal beat Denmark on Wednesday...

The best footballer in the history of football, it seems
