But eh,maybe I’m just paranoid.
I'm actually the opposite
I was getting the feeling of having being lured into a bait and switch since I started watching this anime for the "memory loss" plot and yet for the past few episodes you could barely notice there was any problem at all.
So I'm glad of this development.

Heh,well I'll welcome this development if done right. Just worried that it might be a tad late and the show was doing fine without it. Alas,I should probably trust it more - it hasn't disappointed so far.

Agreed. Honestly, I'm more annoyed at Kaori. All those years she spent, not writing things down. And treating friendly "strangers" like perverts when she should know they're just forgotten friends.

Well, Hajime pissed off enough people by breaking Kaori's bubble of happiness.

Many slice-of-life and romcom anime series have a dramatic arc start about episode 7 or 8, sometimes a little earlier. It's part of the classical three-act storytelling process -- act 1 gets the audience emotionally attached to the primary characters, act 2 puts the characters through hell and act 3 (usually the shortest, one or two episodes at most) brings everything to a conclusion of some sort. I don't expect the structure of _Isshukan Friends_ to be radically different.

Yep, another case where the extent of their past relationship is the guy handing the girl something (not even in person, no less) and labelled in-story as osananajimi. Go KiyruXYamagishi!

Oh yeah, Hase-kun move over please. Sad to say but you haven't impressed me enough to like you more than Kaori's childhood friend. Obviously her memory lapses had something to do with him, so you can scoot over to the side stories now....

You must be the only person in the world who likes Hajime more than Hase right now.

Your osananajimitis is even worse than I thought

From the major rush and fast-forward skips (some of the funny stuff too), I'm guessing that they may want to try to make a 'somewhat' original ending to give the anime some sort of closure, since they won't be able to do that if they follow the manga strictly.

18 grams of sugar sounds like a ton for eggs.
Kaori is going to give Hase diabetes.

Good point, if you look at it from that perspective, she certainly comes off as a bit slow.

Still, calling someone a "traitor" based on their actions during childhood is a little over the top.

Soooo... Kaori was thought to have "caught" Hajime in elementary school by her classmates who took it out on her nastily, eh? But curiously Hajime still seems uncertain about it even now.

Hafta admit, though, that even after this ep Hajime may not be a bad person per se, but he certainly seems to me to have a nasty streak that is petty in character. A small souled person on the whole, perhaps?

Spoiler for Manga comparison of Hase and Hajime:

Try the manga, certainly, Hajime was over the top calling her like that, but after that, you will start to notice how much Kaori is the one causing the problems by her lack of initiative and hurting Hase each time.

Nice to see even Shogo get embarrassed at times.

if lack of initiative is her fault, them hase is at a even big fault, cuz he is the one who keep trying to pushing her to him but at same time can't confess his true feelings, keep strugle in the "wimp" personality, whenever someone ask about his feelings he just "run"/avoid", them both are at fault, her for her oblivion/dense personality and him for aways keep his true feelings to himself and dont spout courage to manly when is needed.

this something which aways disturb me in manga/ln (japanese comic romance in overal), aways or is a dense mc, or a wimp mc, or a big pervert mc, "common sense" mcs almost don't exist, is very hard to see a mc like aoi toori(kyoukay senjo no horizon) or laurence(spice and wolf) which actually true fight for their loves and dont try to hidden their feelings, like 70 to 90% of the others comics, is really rare see a mc who berhavios as we espectat to act like happen in most of the cases in real life(the most common is when a guy or a girl fall in love their fight and voice their feelings not just keep everything and wait for the very last sec to finally be open or wait the other side confess first).

the fear of being rejected in japan is so to big???? to the point of being unacceptable???

this aways hit me hard in mangas/animes/novels, cuz is very, very hard see a character which dont have a big trouble toward romance(i'm not asking him to be perfect but aways being the worst case also dont help, aways too much always being too extremist, when it is not the famous 8 is 80, almost always never have anything between the 2 cases.

we see mcs who work hard to conquess the girls but in a weird way where their keep hidings their true feelings/intention until the very last end or wait until the other side take the step to confess because their can't do this no matter how their want or hard work for this, their simple can't take the last step.

OK, so Kujo got some much needed exposition. Now I can properly wish for him to get hit by a bus or something.

Not that big a fan of the development and climax this series seems like its going to end on.
I liked the setting, but I felt the 'youth' that's being played is a bit too safe and naive. Even taking into the account the sudden drama right now.

Compared to Kawaisou, where its also a story of 'youth' but I accepted its pure pure youth more easily. And actually see it as more down to earth and more realistic than it seems at times.

Argh, I knew I should've just held off until the show finished. These one week waits are killing me.

So, I've determined that Hase has the willpower of a god damn Hero. My heart sunk when he broke down into tears, since it's as if one of the most important people in his life had died. And honestly, until she regains her memories (if she regains her memories) the Fujimiya that Hase knew might as well be dead. If anyone here has experienced this with someone in real life (for example, Alzheimer's), then you know it's one of the worst feelings in the world.

The fact that he can keep on keeping on as he is makes him a saint in my eyes.

As for Kujo, I'm with Shougo. I don't know what to think about this kid. I don't know if he's just being defensive, or if he tends to be a dick more often than not.

On a lighter note though, the Shougo x Saki convo was both hilarious and awesome. Best almost-proposal ever.

Also, my favourite part of the episode was this:

Hase: Shougo, did you wait for me?

*Walks past him*

Shougo: No.

It had me laughing out loud for a couple minutes.
