I'd be quite concerned if it aired that soon. This is being marketed as an action series. In other words largely by the draw of its visual spectacle through animation. I'm not interested in a series that front loads all of its cool fight scene action animation into the first couple of episodes only to dole it out sparingly from then on interspersed with pans and zooms taking up the bulk of the runtime.
The aforementioned scenario is so common in TV anime it's basically the norm. This show is in large part the reason why GGO:Alt had half of its episodes fully outsourced while touting only mediocre production values. It hasn't even been a full year since it was announced. Prior to that, Princess Principal was a joint with Actas wherein much like GGO, they only animated half the episodes themselves. If you want what you saw in the promotional videos to persist through the entire series, it will need more than just a few months worth of production time. Compared to all the other anime one could be watching/rewatching, Black Fox will most likely not be anything to write home about in any respect other than maybe impressively animated action scenes. So what if anything will it have going for it to make it stand out when that aspect of the show noticeably tanks after the first three episodes or so? They're taking one of the most difficult approaches in regards to what kind of show they want to make. Anime is known for its economic approach to animation. That is to say the percentage of a projects actual animation is for the most part rare and sparse. Black Fox is a work being sold largely on its animation in a medium that actively works to diminish that very thing precisely because it is so time consuming and challenging to produce large amounts of high quality animation for a full series run. Keep in mind the average 22ish minute episode of anime, one that is often times much less animated than these PVS are, takes about 3 to 4 months to make. Now while multiple episodes are worked on simultaneously at various stages, the fact of the matter is that a lack of time is one of the biggest factors holding many series back at least visually. As such I'm hoping for Fall 2019 at the earliest.

Theatrical? So we gotta wait until 2020 for the anime to air?
Shoulda known this but this looks a lot darker than I thought. Ah, Fripside. can't think of a more appropriate duo to sing the opening to a female-centric show.

A live action prequel feature that connects to the anime? So this Will be the reverse Zeiram & Iria? Very interesting. Also, we do need some more good ninja-centric stories these days (no, that Batman Ninja anime doesn't count).
