[Manga] Chapter 495 Discussion
Welcome to the weekly manga chapter discussion thread. This thread is created early to discuss spoilers and speculation about the upcoming chapter as well as discussion of said chapter once it has been released.
As per the forums rules, please don't ask for or mention about where to download the (licensed) manga. Also remember not to post or link to any translations of the manga, since this is illegal as well. Posting a synopses or summary is fine (and welcome) but please do not discuss scans, raws, translation groups, etc. Additionally, if you are posting someone else's synopsis (or their translation of a synopsis), then please provide credit were credit is due. Remember that the manga is licensed, do not post significant parts of the chapter. This stands for pictures and direct translations. -So basically, the whole "fighting one's shadow" is merely accepting it? Talk about predictable. We all saw that one happening a mile away. I mean, don't fix what isn't broken (this scenario is a staple for a lot of shonen protagonists) but it would be nice that beating one's shadow meant you let go and forgive the source that caused it. But oh well, at least things seem to be moving along, if a bit slow. I'm more interested in the whole Killer Bee and Naruto bonding segment. We haven't seen that since Part 1 and early Part 2 (Gaara). Too bad all the other jinchuuriki are dead though. Naruto could have gained a much clearer picture about their lives instead of having to rely on a former psychopath and a ballad-rapper.

^That's always been the case as of late; the next (unreleased) chapter always seems more interesting than the current chapter...

Interesting little FAKE spoiler attached to Ohana's when it first came out. Someone added Kabuto and the AkaZombies attacking Kumo. I guess everyone is bored with Kishi's morality play for 10 year olds and tried to add something exciting for this chapter.
Anyway I look at all this as having to eat your vegetables before we finally get to the dessert of the war.

I really hope that accepting his dark self will lead to an improved personality and not get forget by Kishimoto. This chapter is ok only if it has a real impact on Naruto, otherwise it's just some sentimental bullshit to fill 2-3 chapters. I don't know exactly how should Naruto's personality change, but it definitely should. Lately we had this Jesus-naruto that was just as annoying as the clown-of-the-class-and-dropout-naruto. In the beginning of the manga when he was a weak guy he wanted to fight with everyone, now he became one of the strongest ninjas but does not want to fight anyone, i hope the outcome will be somewhere in between. For example how he will deal with people who ask his autograph? Maybe he should just say them "Why didn't you ask me 10 years ago? Go away now and do something useful for the village before you come to me again, then i will give you that autograph." - such reaction would be just between the jesus- and evil-naruto, fitting of a new naruto.
