If they get around at a meeting and decide - yes, the material they have for R2 could make R2 in and of itself a 50 episode series I think they will do it. I think they could actually do it.

SEED did 100 episodes remember, it has happened before and Geass no it could happen again.
Continuing this would honesly be a bad idea to me. SEED had another 50 episodes and we all know how that went. What would they have left to cover when Taniguchi made it clear that everything will be taken care of this season. Some of the key characters like C.C. are also going to be gone by the end of R2 though they could alway introduce new characters. And what is going to be the conflict if everything gets taken care of?

Don't get your hopes up for such a thing. One or both of them are likely to die.

Not my Ouglue! He's so... uh... insert random fandom here.

As for continuing: I don't think they should continue the Lelouch story. But, if they wanted, there'd be nothing wrong with a different story within the same world. The historical element is very interesting and could very easily make a very good story about the growth and rise of Britannia.

There has been fairly detailed summaries of episode 1 available to read since.. what 2-3 weeks ago?

Haven't watch it, but looking forward to it. One thing I'd like to say, "hah, so it seems the amnesia theory wasn't all that off after all!"

You don't have to like it but it should be obvious why 26 is like episode 1, here's a hint, late night to prime time. At least it had good reasons to do it unlike the first episode of Shana II.

OK that was good. I waited 10 months for this. Definitely did not disappoint. A lot of scenes paralleled the first episode of season 1, and that's not a bad thing - I expect it's for first-time viewers into this series. Some things don't have that much of an impact, but other stuff looked cool.

I still don't know what happened to Lelouch and Suzaku at the end of season 1, so hopefully they'll explain some of it soon enough. Can't wait till next week, as usual.

watched the raw. Don't really need subs this ep, it's blatantly obvious what is being said and what is happening. Overall it was a decent ep, a bit to similar to the first one, but I guess that is what they were aiming for. The purple fire was dumb though.

it's not just an homage to episode 1 though, there's plenty of other things going on besides simply reestablishing the setting. (Rollo, China, Knights of Rounds, etc.) >_>

got a whole 'nother two empires with limited exposure in this show and immortals as a plot device...yep, I'm sure they could think up all sorts of interesting story's using this setting.

This reminds me of Buffy the Vampire slayer. Remember when Buffy came home and suddenly had a baby sister that she remembered because her memories were falsified.

Also, I am pretty sure CLAMP drew the ending again like in season 1. The wings and chains were straight out of the Tsubasa art.

It could be either of them, though Ougi would have the most impact on everyone.

Hmm, a story that dealt with history wouldn't be too bad. I'd just hope that they don't do some sort of sequel.

I didn't mean to imply that it was just a homage, I meant it was set up as a redone episode 1 as a way to introduce new viewers/casual anime viewers to the series. Of course new stuff happened as well....

Yes it was by CLAMP, season 1 was by Takahiro Kimura who also drew the ed scenes for Gun X Sword.

Seems Rollo really has some skills, seeing that Kallen found her self on her ass and separated from Lelouch.

And I have to say I was a little shocked when I saw the gladiator like battle. In this futuristic show with aliens with double consanant names, I really didn't expect they would have Britannia retrograde the Japaneese in such a way. With a manga called Historie and the story of 300 on my mind seeing 'Elevens' become 'babarians' was kind of funny. Wierd type funny.

As much as I like Clamp, as a guy I must say I favor Kimutaka art over them.
He's... how should I put it, "endowed" in designing female characters.

Hey, I still have his VIPER porn games from him in the pile of ecchi games in the closet!
