-the chapter ends with death the kidd, mosquito and someone special we haven't seen in awhile.............. GODDAMN! SHIT!

Downloaded 51 raw because I felt like it. And, bearing in mind I can't read the dialogue:

Mosquito and..Free (o-kay I stand corrected)? Hmm, this ought to be interesting. I was rather expecting Kid would go to the eighth lock (IIRC, that's where Mosquito said he'd go to in ch50). Looks like this'll actually be a challenge for the god boy; up against tough opponents without his friends around. But against Arachne's righthand...people? That's just harsh. Right now, I'm inclined to think Kid'll come off worse.

Didn't catch the significance of Ox pulling out his hair like that (yes, he doesn't like it, but at a time like that?). Was expecting Kim would kiss him. Hope this is her brainwashing wearing off, and she'll be okay now. Harvar is continuing in something of a common habit of Weapons being fiercely loyal to their Techs.

Harvard did stab her. She just healed herself. That's her special power - and why she couldn't hang out with normal witches. Normally, a witch's power is basically for destruction, but she has a healing (anti-destruction) power.

(Using Jackie, Kim throws a burst of flame into the floor around her for emphasis.)
Kim: The way people look at me, as a witch... there's no way anyone's waiting for me.
Kim: Don't you understand?! Humans don't change the way they think that easily. That's why money is all I can rely on!

Kim: You're the same, aren't you, Ox-kun?! Every morning you get up early to do up your head.
Kim: Two pillars?! (Note: I'm pretty sure this refers to his hairstyle.)

(Ox sets Harvar, in spear form, down against the wall.)

Ox: Witch or whatever you are, it doesn't matter.
Ox: People will always cling to stupid ideas.
(With a roar, Ox summons up his power and grips his hair spikes.)
Harvar: Ox-kun!
(Ox rips off his hair spikes. Kim stares at him in shock. He drops them to the floor.)
Ox: If you don't want to go back to Shibusen, then you don't have to.
Ox: If you don't have a place to go, then I'll make one for you...
(Kim's expression softens.)
Ox: Can't I be the place where you belong?
(Tears well up in Kim's eyes. She puts one hand to her face and starts to sob. Jackie suddenly shifts back to humanoid form and darts behind Ox, arms flaming.)
Jackie: I can't accept this. Are you betraying me?
Kim: Wait! I... I've woken up!
(Harvar appears behind Jackie and shocks her, knocking her out.)
Kim: Jackie!
Harvar: She's only unconscious.
Ox: Kim... where's the morality processing place? If we don't get Jackie back to normal too...
(Ox lets out a grunt of pain and falls to one knee, clutching his side.)
Kim: Are you all right?!
Kim: Show me the wound... I'll heal it with magic.
(Kim puts her hands under Ox's shirt and starts chanting.)
Ox: Amazing...
(Breathing heavily, Kim picks up Ox's fallen hair-spikes.)
Kim: I'll fix your hair too.
Ox: Are you all right? You look exhausted...
(Kim finishes, still breathing heavily. Then she kisses him on the nose.)
Ox: EH?!
Kim: Okay, I'm done. Don't use shampoo for two or three days, all right?
(Harvar picks up Jackie in his arms.)
Harvar: Come on, you two. Let's hurry before Jackie wakes up.
(Harvar stops, puzzled.)
Harvar: Both of you are all red. Is everything okay?
Ox: Huh?
Kim: I-I'm just tired from using magic. Don't worry about it!

The hair comparison was "persecution of witches = daily hairstyle," not "being born a witch = daily hairstyle." If Ox can throw away his convictions, then people can learn to accept witches in Shibusen.

Even so, I'm still unconvinced;

Hair is hair, Ox is one individual with a peculiar habit. The persecution of witches by Shibusen has been going on for centuries and is in the structure of the school and the lives of its graduates. I see what's being said, I just find it a poor way of illustrating the point. Under the circumstances, though, it does the job. If Kim can believe it, that witches could be accepted, then perhaps others can too.

I don't think that's really how Ox meant it.

The earlier part of the conversation (that I didn't translate) shows that the Moral Manipulating Machine's hold over Kim really wasn't that strong - hence Harvar's earlier disbelief that she would be so easily brainwashed.

What had happened was that Kim had convinced herself that the only possible place she could be accepted for what she was (a witch) was Arachnophobia. As kari-no-sugata said earlier, the normal "path of a witch" is a destructive one, and Kim's healing powers made her an outcast from mainstream witch society. With both the witch world and Shibusen rejecting her, the only option Kim could see in order to live happily was to stay with Arachnophobia, something she could only do under the Moral Manipulating Machine's influence.

At that point, Ox pointed out a problem with her reasoning - she was crying as she said it. That cracked Kim a bit, and she started getting emotional, which is where my earlier translation picks up.

Kim then brought up Ox's hair as one example of how people can't change. Ox broke his own hair off to demonstrate that she was wrong, and followed that up with his promise to make sure she had a place outside Arachnophobia, whether or not that was Shibusen. That was evidently enough for Kim, and she promptly snapped out of it.

Add to that that Kim's idea that noone would accecpt her was just plain wrong. I mean if both Blair (not a witch but close enuff) and Chrona ( who has done some majorly bad things and is techinly a witch) can be accepted then Kim would be no problem.

To be honest, how much effort does a person need to pull out hair I felt kinda cheezed by Ox in this chapter because of all those heroic lines he said. Nonetheless Kim is back, so i guess he deserves some credit.

Shit man, Ox came up hardcore in this on to manage put Kim on her senses while taking a beating. I guess he really deserve that kiss lol.

Harvar also surprisingly one badass Weapon with high sense of duty. Too bad so little screentime about him. Next one is Kidd & co and Free against Mosquito.

Harvar has definitely been a pleasant surprise. He was such a nobody before 50 came out.

Hopefully the anime can handle him well.
