He could have, instead, said the truth: "Yes there's something wrong, but I can't tell you". Migi wouldn't kill Murano simply because of him telling that. Murano would probably pester Shinichi about what it is that "something wrong", but at least she would know that Shinichi is not lying anymore and with her imagination alone she wouldn't even get close to the fact that her boyfriend's right hand is a parasyte. Not an ideal situation, but better than the current one, in my opinion. Also Shinichi should play his cards a lot better. Now that Migi has become weakened and Shinichi has become a superhuman, the option to switch to another body has become a lot less appealing to him. Migi can't really hope to find a better and more reliable host. Shinichi should from one side reassure Migi that he cares about his well being (making himself more valuable than any other host, including other parasytes that are incapable of caring for anyone other than themselves), and from another making clear conditions as to ensure a mutual proficient cooperation.

True, that was a lie of sorts that I'm pretty sure Murano knows is a lie. In Murano's perspective, he either does not trust her, or she is not important enough to tell. Nothing is indicating to her that he has something dangerous in his right hand, which can kill her any second. He could have said the truth as you put it, but he really does not know how Migi will react. Giving out any hints could push Migi to overreact, and attack Murano. He really does not know what could push Migi into deadly action, and he is scared because he can't afford to lose anyone else close to him. Also, by giving out hints that something is wrong could cause Murano to become more curious and investigate. Murano cares, and it is natural that she will want to find out what he is suffering from in order to try and help. She is a teenager, after all, and will definitely react off her emotions. The end result might lead to her death.

''I killed that person.''
Two things came to mind when Shinichi said that: 1. He REALLY needs to see a psychologist or someone like that. 2. It was Uda who killed her/it so stop getting ahead of yourself Shinichi.

Izumi sure is changing... feels like he's slowly losing his humanity.
The more he clings to humanity, the more he loses it. That nosy guy sure was persistent. It was nice to watch Migi put him in his place. Tamura pulled a fast one over Shinichi again..

Yup, Shinichi's losing it for real. He referred to others as humans when he ran through the quad-- in other words he's stopped considering himself as a human. On the other hand, Migi's gaining a little bit of humanity and Shinichi's picked up on that. Roles and personalities are being reversed with time. Bit by bit we're seeing more of Migi trying to restrain Shinichi rather than the other way 'round.
At this point it's pretty redundant to say that every character in this show raises death flags sooner or later. Which makes me wonder how long the P.I. is gonna survive given that he's not gonna give up on his personal crusade to reveal the hidden truth to the world. Migi was pretty convincing with his intimidating threats but I wouldn't be surprised if he started tailing his former employer as soon as he got his wits about. Speaking of who, Tamiya always seems to finds new ways to creep the viewers out. This time she cackles like a madcap when she recalls the bumbling P.I. who couldn't get out of his way. She's definitely changed quite a bit, and by her own admission is rapidly evolving, but she had absolutely no qualms about using her own child as a meat shield to protect her ass. Her selfish gene still hasn't quite manifested in her. I dunno why she lost it when she figure out that Shinichi's mom was done in by a parasite. I get the feeling that she losing control over her expressions. Parasites only simulate emotions but Tamiya is actually starting to emote for real. The old her wouldn't so much as crack a smile let alone simulate emotions. I'd love to see her maternal instinct kick in and become the most 'human' out of all the parasites by the end of the show. Anyway, seems like a new boss is entering the scene next episode. Shit's gonna hit the fan pretty soon. |

Man that lecture scene just sent chills up my spine. I kept thinking, she's going to kill that baby eventually. Also Reiko laughing might be the scariest thing Ive seen lately.

For some reason I think in the end, despite the hilarious and cold way Reiko is treating the baby, I think in the end, she's going to sacrifice herself to save it.
Shinichi is falling deeper and deeper. Migi's rant to the investigator about shinichi's circumstances sounds like how shinichi was in the beginning.

No surprise that Shinichi is just reaching a worse and worse place. Anger is still plenty there and he can easily tap into that. But the emotions he really needs to stop himself from becoming a monster are getting harder to keep a grasp on. I'd wonder if the fortune teller wasn't just full of it, but his mother and that parasyte that killed her are pretty darn dead. I'm really wondering how things can be turned around for Shinichi here. Is it really just going to be a downward slide to the end for him?

LOL But who will take care of the baby afterwards?

I love this series. This episode was so intense and so full of story even though not much action happened. Reiko will probably develop more maternal instincts later, and it is still questionable how she is able to get her baby to be silent when she tells the baby to shut-up. I think Migi and Shinichi are reaching a mid-point in their emotions, each becoming closer to the other. Shinichi and Migi will probably end up to the point where both will think and feel the same way. It's like they will become a whole complete being that is unlike any other. Murano is currently out of the picture for now, but she will definitely be back in it soon. Especially considering Migi is actually ok with humans finding out the Parasyte identity, I'm sure Murano will be allowed to know soon. It's only as long as it does not endanger Shinichi or Migi, then the knowledge of their existence is fine. Migi might actually believe that Murano finding out will be beneficial for both Migi and Shinichi in the long term. I really love this series. It's so suspenseful, and the story is so thoughtful.

I guess the series is going with the idea that children are sensitive enough with a sense of self-preservation to shut up when she gives off some killing intent. I think it would be for the best for Murano to get in on this and Migi may finally be in a position where he'll suggest it. Right now it's obvious that Shinichi's state is deteriorating. With Migi I think at least getting closer to that midpoint. I really can't wait to see where things go from here and how it turns out. Things are just going to get more serious and it just feels like Shinichi's lowest moment is coming and then the rise.

I'm glad to see that Migi finally understood that he can't just kill humans without reaching an understanding with Shinichi first, after the mishap in the previous episode that was something that an intelligent being like him should have realized, and he did. Unfortunately Shinichi on the other hand, is becoming unstable. In the first place why did he even bothered listening to a fortune teller! I bet Migi would have much to say about the irrationality of that. Telling her that he murdered someone then (which isn't even true, he just helped) was just plain stupid.

Episode 14:
That awful laugh by Tamura-san... I'm pretty sure that she has no qualms of using her baby as a shield. Glad that Shinichi got some control thanks to Migi 'cause he might eventually kill Tamura's baby and some witnesses at the school campus. On the other hand, Mr. Kuramori was spared and I hope he stays that way! |
