It was an okay first episode. The MC seems to be an idiot that just repeats whatever his teacher says.

feels like the MC is some sort of "I am the greatest, I can do anything" type personality... basically those "stuck-up" personality while just copying whatever his teacher is saying... which makes him look even more stupid.

Only thing he's got going is being "linked" to the Evil Dragon (Dragon Heart anyone?)...

wonder why that sword is so short tho... with a giant sheath... what's the point here?
also, if it does go the predictable route, I think the "evil dragon" will be tamed or merged with the MC or something and set out to find who's the one that shot his father back at the sealing thing.

But for now, the MC's design makes me feel like punching him in the face (plus the way he acts makes me want to kick him afterwards)

So that makes at least two action shows this season with idiot MCs. Ah well. Shows like this you watch for the fights, the fanservice, and the occasional flash of original world building. MCs aren't always a dealbreaker, and at least "idiot MC" is better than "spineless herbivore MC", in that the former is often a source of humor (intentional and otherwise), while the latter is rarely more than sad and frustrating.

yeah agreee 100% with that i really have a deep hate for the peniless/gay mcs instead of be fun for me they are source of anger and shame and make me hate part of the otakus(the peniless shut in) for making that sort of mc being so popular and common in novels.

At last being idiot just make him funny not a fail project of man like the spineless.

yea, there needs to be more non-idiot funny MC yet not spineless/gay and doesn't abuse girls or have "jerk" personalities with the origin of being the good guys...
(not those "Demon Lord" MCs that tends to start out as evil but got defused into soft heart by cute harem girls and such)
(the only one I can think of is that "Villain in Glasses" even tho he is only viewed as evil by some but his origin is good)

Well this was surprising good lol or at least how it was mentioned already, it did leave me interested in what's going to happen next so that's a win for them I guess.

This is a mogame anime and they usually suck so I'm not expecting anything, but I'll be watching again next week at least.

This is turning out to be a pretty fun, mindless series. Reminds me a lot of the cheapie anime series of the 80's and 90's that had pretty much nothing for plot, with low production values, a borderline hapless MC, female characters who were probably a bit too fanservicey for the target age group, the obligatory short funny talking creature, and basically just random stuff happening. We even had the "Big Bad makes an appearance, doesn't kill anyone, then leaves for no apparent reason" bit.

Love the heroine's introduction... With that getup, and that behavior...looks like she wandered out of Comiket after popping a few too many Ecstasy...

I don't think it's quite to that degree, but it clearly doesn't take itself seriously.

so... ep 2... the guy have next to zero talent, complains about shit loads of things, easily scammed, have a major cocky attitude that thinks he can do anything even tho he's getting his ass owned by slimes and is protected by the strongest evil dragon without realizing it that he only got cause his parents sacrificed themselves to save him...

And then a cute girl pops out of no where and into his chest...

so.... this anime is about shit-of-a-loser getting everything-for-doing-nothing...

I already can predict that this MC will become super strong and 'surprise' everyone.

No way! No one would ever create a story with such an unlikely premise!

this serie looks like another "different" sort of serie with less cliche and i liking it so far really the mc being the "useless" trying to be a hero is fun, the fact he keep failing make the things really fun and that girl really cute, just not being another "harem" already good enough for me, looks like we are getting less and less cliche and little by little more 'original works" than just keep cloning over and over the same things.

I think I'll be sticking with this myself. It seems to have enough potential and material to make it worth watching. Something about Saraato reminds me a little of Felia from Comet Lucifer.

As for the problem of idiot characters, I'd say it depends on the level of idiocy and what it's replaced with. Some heroes are absolute morons, some are really dumb, and some are just moderately dumb or lacking in skill. Whatever the case, I prefer someone who starts out weak, stupid and cowardly and has to gain strength, wisdom and courage along the way, rather than the sort of heroes that are just too strong. Also, again the likability of the latter depends a good deal on what sort of characteristics are given to the hero in place of the standard weaknesses. If it's innocence and ignorance like in Heroic Age, I'm likely to like him. If it's perversion and an unrepentant arrogance like in Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero, not so much.

Many aspects of a show like this I try to decide on by the third episode's conclusion, but the hero is one thing I'm rather inclined to give more time. Growth takes a while, and I've seen characters that remain idiotic spazzes for the first eight or nine episodes or even more depending on the length of the series, but still do grow and ultimately seek to improve themselves. Even if he's still unimpressive and appears to your eyes to be a typical permanent weakling hero, there's no telling what the future will have in store.

well i also have problem with "how idiot or innocent, or pervert and arrogant a character can be specially in romance that is why i hate the majority of harem because normally you have the typical protakuns which or are pussy or are ultra dense or ultra perv, aways too exagerated in a annoying way, characters which can be innocent but still "down to the earth" levels i can accept.

Don't rememeber me hagura yuusha in the beginner i feel it was funny but later as the mc become more and more like a molester near raper and less a "good guy" i started to hate him and understand why the serie had huge problems in japan the writer he really goes to overwhelming in his "perv personality" gonne from something funny to something really disgusting and instead of being a just "perv" mc he become a stalker/molester near raper, which do whatever he want which whatever girl he want without do a shit if the girls like it or not and being all boss i really hate his character he is the worst exemple for me of what we can get in a "borderline hentai" serie, akatsuki could be a perfect hentai raper harem mc he does exactly what that guys do.
