Finally, we have some character who points out how terrible Kazami is and laid it out in the open. Whenever the doofus did something wrong, he's just saying to himself "It's not me!" like a child. I wont be surprised if he's a 10 yo or actual man-child IRL who always screw up the plans cooked up by Hiroto. Heck, even Parv can hold his own ground now after his "awakening" last episode. All that said, Kazami is a begrudgingly-realistic portrayal of some internet-posters or MMO-players out there who we can't avoid. So I can't really fault the show if they wanna go there with him.
Here's hoping Kazami's "enlightenment" in the next episode won't need an unnecessary death of some resistance members or worse, some of the children from the village. Or maybe I just jinxed it by saying that . As for Hiroto, he told his main plan to his team but he still didn't tell them his back-up unit just like how he did it with the M4 debut. Not that it will do any good for the doofus, but May could use that insight since she's more dependable than the rest. I guess he still couldn't shrug off his "lone-mercenary" tendency considering there's still no solid teamwork yet and they still don't know each other that well. But it's good that Hinata seems to snap Hiro out of it. It's also good that Hiro didn't just outright say that Kazami is a Leroy-deadweight-fifthwheel-Jenkins to his former team but on the flipside, Hiro not saying anything is also problematic. Also, "Captain Zeon" is not only charmingly-OTT, he's quite honest with himself if he indeed released videos of him losing his fights on his channel for all his fans to see.

I like every Hinata scene so far. She is really level headed and caring.
Form the preview I can see that Kazami manage to save something though he didn’t score a kill. If he make mistake, the preview will say “it’s my fault”

It's still pretty dissapointing they can't solve team problems internally, but better solving them then not regardless of method, I guess. To be fair Hiroto got called for his lack of interest too. If he get invested in others BUiLD DIVERS might turn into something barely team-shaped.

Since the show is not finished yet, we can't absolutely tell where it will go. Still, Hiro has been steadily developing, Parv has overcame his fear of flying last episode and looks like something will happen to the doofus next episode. We even get a new perspective on "Captain Zeon". So the show is definitely going somewhere with its characters.
Oh, and I'm glad we still have actual battle tactics this far into RR.

As for the blonde girl, she is one of the main mysteries in the show. She's like Kenshin's Tomoe flashback that will probably be saved for last arc or something. She also reminds me of the monk girl who the Log Horizon MC is always having flashbacks of.

It's not May's turn to be explored yet. As long as it will happen, I won't mind where they will put her development. For now, I'm still enjoying her as the most competent member after Hiro.

I say Hiroto is nicely developing, mainly how he tackles his social issue. Like how he was trying to motivate parvis and this episode, we see him understand the importance of trusting his teammate.
May is just an observer at this point. I won't worry too much for her considering she does her job well as a fighter and lessens the burden of Hiroto. I say Hiroto, Parv, and Kazami is representing the type of online gamer that you can find. Solo-er, Newbie, and "overconfident" player. Newbie finally manages to enjoy the game, Solo-er trying to play as a team and overconfident finally understand his own flaw. I do find it a pretty interesting dynamic despite being a mish-mash.

^ Let's just say by episode 6, Hiroto has as much character-development as Kou Uraki after the entire Gundam 0083 show, and Hiro is definitely more developed than Heero after the same amount of episodes (6 so far) of their respective shows. Also, Hiro's development is as good as Mika's after 6 episodes.

Kou had whole that terrible romance angle (and yes Kou wasn't exactly great character overall), that say 83 characters didn't need lot of development as they were competent from the start (again except Kou and his terrible sense of directions) . Wing was split among 5(?) different characters and was 50 episodes long.
If that's your defense of show, you are not doing great job.

What Hiro needs to learn is how to be a good team-player and to make friends on-line. It's his overall arc, just like how it takes more than half a show for Amuro Ray to grow into a full-fledged soldier. And that's not a narrative flaw. Quote:
Hiro is not particularly any worse compared to most other Gundam protags. What I mentioned previously is just easy examples. But you keep making a mountain out of a mole-hill just for complaining's sake.

-So you are saying Hiro is good in socialising and leading others? Well I disagree.
-Heero still butted head with Relena early in story. That makes him automatically better then Hiro who is just there and do nothing. -When it come to develpment he is worse compared protagonists of main gundam franchise, that include Heero, Setsuna and even Kira " lol!Jesus" Yamato (he is better then Cammile/Shin though. I give you that). As I said, you are not getting anything by pretending it has good or even average characters.

I already got my points across clearly for those who read this page. You keep labeling me as “pretending” is your shortcut to dismiss things that I said without much work. Anyone can do that.

The problem with this show is it's spinning its wheels a lot. The whole secret mission/isekai and protagonist's mysterious girlfriend isn't going to be bearing any fruit anytime soon so the show takes a weekly mission structure. These are opportunities to explore it's rag-tag team of characters who barely even knew each other, but we get next to nothing. We learn Hiroto's a brooder whos redemptive feature is he's a badass, but honestly it does little to make his stoic stereotype easier to swallow. Until this episode, Kazami's just been annoying. We know nothing about May. Parv's entire arc to find his confidence was empty because his big solution was just to transform his gunpla, which is just the show's nature as a glorified commercial rearing its ugly head. His entire arc was just a load of hot air and did next to nothing to build his relationships with his team. This in the first 5 episodes. That's five episodes wasted.

To me, consider the fact that hiroto reflect his action and actually smile when accomplished something make him better than majority of stoic characters out there. It is fine to criticise characters development being slow but you should not forget that there is world building elements. Uncovering mystery of the world is pretty much Hiroto and May objectives too. I dont think it is completely wasted on that front
