i agree. the only interesting part was sakura's determination (though it is going to be mixed, and confusing. her change is really radical.)

but, though eagle was kinda long, i guess clamp changed the pace of the story a bit (the tokyo arc was really long), so rather than spending 2-3 chapters on this world introduction, with the world story and feather objective, they rather changed the point of view and time.

I agree, and I think you have a great point about the childhood memories. Frankly, I don't know who to cheer for now. Is it the real Syaoran, whose heart has now returned to him? Is it the clone Syaoran, who gew his own feelings out of the original Syaoran's heart? Have those feelings transferred to the real Syaoran, or does he only feel like a spectator between the clone and Sakura? It's still his heart though, and the clone is just a mindless robot without it. *sigh* This is too angsty. And yes, seeing Sakura in chapter 136 is painful.

I was hoping that chapter 136 would start normally, with the gang arriving on a new world. I wanted to see how the characters would interact - is Syaoran holding Sakura as they arrive? Do Kurogane and Fye talk at all?

And one last question ... why is the clone collecting the feathers alone? Fei Wong's stated goal isn't the feathers themselves, but having Sakura travel to get the feathers? Why create a clone of Syaoran with that mission in the first place? And why is it doing it alone now?

Hello all.

Does anyone know what the latest volumes of the Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicle manga are out in Japan?

I am curious because everywhere I looked online appears to say that the current volume is 18 and the official english translations appear to be catching up fast (around Volume 11-12 if I remember correctly).

Basically I am wondering if 18 is the "Current backlog" caught up with and then we will have to wait for the next one to be released in Japan then translated.

according to the real syaoran when he speaks to the clone one, he said that the feelings for sakura comes from his(clone) hearts..however in my opinion i think it also come from the real syaoran heart as well..since the chapter after that we see that the reason he is joining is to protect sakura and in certain scenes we can see that when both of them look at each other it seems that the real syaoran has feelings for her at the same time feeling guilty...and in the latest chapter sakura's father was actually to the real syaoran regarding something and it seems like the next chapter might be showing us more stuff regarding the real syaoran and sakura (hopefully)

i think that the creation of the clone syaoran is to collect the feathers faster and maybe for some other reasons like having him to fight for fei wong; since it is indeed clone from the real syaoran and the real syaoran itself have a potential strong power...

all i can say CLAMP might merge both syaoran together at the end...or they might kill off either one of them

I agree with Kenji Chaos that CLAMP might end up merging the two syaorans because, if anyone has been keeping up with xxxholic, yuko mentions that "what must exist as one is now two". So, to return to the original, normal state, only one must exist.

Moreover, now that I have read the latest chapters of xxxholic and tsubasa, both stories' pace are picking up and they now seem very very related.

Examples and questions I have:
1. When Watasuki almost died, the price for his recovery was paided by THREE people. One of them was the real Syaoran who prepaid his price so Watasuki will not "disappear". There are alot to the real Syaoran's story that is unknown...he seems to know a lot more about what is going on but not telling anyone....

2. xxxholic restates constantly that Watasuki's existence is "rarest" of all things and currently in volume 10, everyone is working their hardest. Both Mokonas are not happy but trying to do their separate jobs. Yuko's two kids, Maru and Moro, are constantly sleeping to keep Yuko's shop--place for what is to happen-- up "because they love watanuki". Yuko even said "can't let it [shop] break just yet". I am almost getting the feeling Watanuki will play a very very important role, maybe an even more important role than sakura or syaoran, in the outcome for both stories. Everything is connected to him and everything is done for him.

I am glad that both stories' pace is really picking up and is building alot of suspense for what seem to be the beginning of the end. I really can't wait see how CLAMP will merge the two stories because both are heading toward the same goal: battling against FWR.

Does anyone have an idea of why Watanuki is important to Tsuabasa? Yuko says that his surname has a special significance. Maybe that will give a clue of how everything will turn out.

Yes, Tsubasa has currently 2 seasons and 1 movie. It will be 3 seasons long. And the manga is still on going.

Airing of Season 3 is highly impossible due to NHK(the channel which shows Tsubasa) has disapproval of airing gory scenes in their shows.

The new arc of the manga is disappointing. It's not as interesting as before and I can't say that I really like Sakura's new personality. The latest cliffhanger in Chapter 142 is shocking:

So Sakura is not concentrated on winning the feather now? But I would think she has become friends with Fai, Kuro, and Mokona by now so why does she want to travel alone?

So you don't like the story because now it has better and more interesting twists, and more complex character development?? Would you prefer the same plane and non-progresing storyline the manga has in its first ten volumes?

And about Sakura in chapter 142

Did you seriously believe she was still interesting in findind the feathers after what happened to Syaoran? please, we're talking about the person she loves here!

She want to travel alone because of two reasons:

1) She can't bear seeing R.Syaron because he's to much like Syaoran, yet he's not. No matter if R.Syaoran is the the original, or how much like Syaoran he is; he's not the person who grew with her since they were children (though she doesn't remember that, but it doesn't matter because her body does remember, as stated by Mokona once), he's not the one who swore to get her feathers back when she was dying, and he's not the one she has come to love during the travel (she has fallen in love with this guy not once but twice!!). So she can't take it anymore.

2) Since she doesn't care about the feathers anymore she no longer needs Mokona nor Fay; she doesn't really need any help to go looking for Syaoran. Yes, this is really selfish of her. Who cares? Syaoran is more importan to her than anyone else. Also this is now her travel; she doesn't want drag the gang with her because is something she has to do by herself.

All these new developments make her a much more complex (real) character. It's really interesting.

It does have interesting twists but I meant that the new arc has nothing but chess matches so far. It's kind of getting boring to me. I think the next chapter might be interesting to learn more about Sakura's decision and how the gang might react to it, but too bad there's still one more match.
