So I've take sometime to re-read the Prologue of Unicorn. Here's a summary of the first part of it as Fukui's style does not allow a casual Japaneses reader such as I to make an eloquent translation. Those of have read the novel is welcome to correct any misinterpretation I've encountered.

Now onto the event that starts everything, the Laplace Incident on 1/1/UC0001 :-

We start off on the eve of 1/1/UC0001 where an event is held to welcome in the first year of the UC Calendar and to send off the AD years on the Space Station Laplace.

A 17 year old youth, Siam is seen working behind the scene for the big event, but we soon understand that he is part of a terrorist team who have penetrated the Space Station to sabotage everything. Siam was born into poverty in Middle Asia, the turbulent years after the Earth Federation was setup to counter over population on Earth via Space Colonisation see his family lands taken away for building a Lauching Base.

At first, he works on buiding the base ont he land where he once live, but was soon fired after the Feds found out his father was a Guerrilla for the Seperatist movement who had since died in imprisonment. Out of desperation of money to support his Mother and Younger Sister, he joined the unnamed terriorist organisation in which a massive monetary reward is promised if for sucessful operations.

Back to the Event, we soon see that once the clock strikes Midnight of 1/1/0001, the water pipes of the Space Station Burst, causing buildings to collaspe, the solar panel breaks, resulting in a massive explosion and eradicting everything surrounding the station, including tens of Salamis Class Cruiser sent as a sercurity team.

The reason behind the collaspe of Laplace was originally Siam and his team is suppose to signal in the UC era by making the wordings of "Good bye, AD Hello,UC!" to appear on one of the Solar Panels. They took this chance to overload the enviromental control system, causing a chain reaction.

In anycase, Siam's Team manage a clean getaway using a Shuttle. But unfortunately, the Shuttle explored soon after due to exposed wiring. Whether this was a result from the debris from the collasped Laplace or a intended saboatge by the Organisation to sealed the fate of those involve is unknown. But Siam survived, because he was the one who was sent out to check the malfunction shortly before the Shuttle exlpores.

What later happened is a very strange thing. Siam encountered vision of "Green giant armored Cyclops with a red glowing eyes" and "Damaged Space Colonies" used as missles heading for Earth. It's unknowed if this is a result of shellshocked both from the collasped of Laplace of the explosion of the shuttle that makes Siam hallucinates.

Shortyly after. Siam see a huge debris that stands at about 3 meter in height and what looks like a huge mirrior of sorts floating about, he fire the thrusters on his space suits to head towards it......

Time travel...?

I wanna ask something to anyone who know the Unicorn weaponry...

it is really true Unicorn have a Gatling Beam ?

its sounded too powerful for me.

Yea Unicorn has a Beam Gattling Gun.

But its not new to Gundam, Heavy Arm's Gattling Guns are Beam as well.

GSD's Blaze Zaku Phantom also has it.

Fast forward to 0096, the 2nd portion of the Prologue.

Siam is now Siam Vist, head of the wealthy and influential Vist foundation and caretaker of the Box Of Laplace. Currently he is old, frail and sustaining his life through Cryonics in a half consious state.

We learn that after the Laplace Incident, Siam discovered the Box Of Laplace and he was soon rescued by a passing shuttle. Siam never returned to his mother and sister but choose to lie low. It is as well, because the Feds rally people under the flag of "Remember Laplace" and intensified their effort to crush any and all Seperatist movements, which includes Siam's former employer. And by 0022, Feds announced "Remember Laplace" as a success to implment new measures in the Goverenment.

For Siam, he penetrated the Underworld and got himself a job at Anahiem Electronics (AE), still a SME in America at that time. Using a combination of his underworld relation and power of the Laplace Box, Siam clmibed up the coporate ladders and soon got himself into the Vist family by marrying one of their daughters.

Using the wealth from the Vist, Siam in turn finance AE and various government orgnasation and set the Vist into becoming a very powerful element and then move in to blackmail the Fed with the Box Of Laplace for years to come.

During a visit by his 62 year old grandson Cardias, Siam makes know that he is tired of everything and want to entrust the box to a new caretaker to make known it's contend. All to "prevent the world going into a irrevisible state of stagnation" under the name of "Project UC" in which the MS "Unicorn" is born under.

Siam entrusted Cardias to seek out a worthy Trustee of the Box under the final phase of "Project UC" before resuming his long sleep.

And that's the prologue. Any reader of the novel is welcome to add in any details I've missed or misinterpreted. I know part 1 has a lot of mambo jambo about the chaotic political atmosphere and structure of the Colonies while part 2 has some in depth info about the major events in UC.

Not one of it's intended weapon actually, Barnage stole it on one of the raids.

2 of them in Kai form. Four of them with the custom design. Also I'm pretty sure the Gelgoog Jaeger has a beam maching gun.

Now thats good to hear. That suit is one bad ass suit, it would be disappointing if it was put out in one battle.

So this Laplace box thing is eventually installed in the Unicorn and it can read minds. Newtype Destroyer, etc.

But what exactly is this Laplace Box thing? Is it actually A BOX? With what? What is it? Where did it come from?? So it's like the Holy Grail of UC?

From the prologue, Siam discover it from the ruins of the Space Station Laplace and it can grant visions of the Future. It's an object that looks a mirror, hexagon in shape. 3 meters tall and 30 centimeter wide, that all we know from the prologue

Kinda off topic, but the original Heavyarms (the TV version) used beam gatlings. It's the Katoki version that changed it to use conventional physical ammo.

Due to the difference in physics existing between the multi-verse, I rather not compare them.

But I'll say this, the Unicorn is like it's namesake. A very wild and untamable beast.
