Must be finished airing. I'm in the mood for something with good character development. If there's anything where the couple has the kind of chemistry Horo and Lawerence do in Spice and Wolf, I'd love to see that too.

Bonus Points if the romance takes place in some kind of adventure story, like Eureka Seven or Fushigi Yugi.

Well there is no romance to speak of in The Twelve Kingdoms. Doesn't stop it from being one of the best anime ever aired. (<- your edit makes this observation kind of random lol)

I suggest you read Kanata Kara. Fushigi Yuugi (shudder) does not compare.

Yeah, I edited because I remembered it wasn't really a romance series, so the comment was kind of pointless.

I'll check that manga out, but I was looking for an anime series. I appreciate the recommendation though.

I'd highly recommend Katanagatari, it's based around a adventure to collect 12 legendary blades and the chemistry and development between the two leads is quite good

3rd for Katanagatari... it surely is a good adventure with a good chemisry between the characters..(looks like just repeating what Konakaga's have said)

and adding Saiunkoku Monogatari

That'd be because i've read the manga three times. Its my second favorite manga ever. I was gonna get around to the anime if I ever felt like revisiting the story.

I'll check out Katanagatari. Anything a bit longer though? I tried Sainkoku before. Kinda lost interest halfway through the first season.

Ah, I thought Katanagatari was twelve 22-24 minute long episodes, not twelve 50 minute long episodes. Thats perfect. Appreciate the recommendation.
