Going according to seasons might be pretty cool but i'll be expecting to see lots of swimsuits when it reaches summer XD this could be tried out if it have not been done in the forum before! (I just joined 2 months ago so I've only seen the Halloween one before.)

As for the voting system, I will say that if voting for our own work will cause unhappiness and erupt of opinions from other contestants about certain contestant(s), I think it will be best if contestants are not allowed to vote for our own work. (I personally think contestants should be allowed to vote for others though, since most of the contestants are designers and that might have an eye for design). However, I do like this point system by ranking, since in this case there were many entries. By points it gives privilege to those who had deserve it more.

In terms of feedback, I only have a few things to say:

Perhaps themes for future banner contests could be decided by theme suggestion thread (and maybe allow forumgoers to vote for a theme as well).
Is it not feasible to have a "freestyle" banner contest? That is, everyone is still given the same gradient to work with, but no actual theme to conform to.
I'm sticking to my convictions in regards to voting for your own entry- either disallow banning for your own entry in future contests, or disallow contestants from voting altogether.

I also agree with blaze0041's points. Changing the theme up besides the conventional seasons would be very refreshing for next time.
