It also helps that he has a westerner-type of body that is both tall with wide shoulder. It really was great casting decision by the film crew. That' and Abe Hiroshi has always being one of my favorite Japanese actors.

Well it's being simulcast in France so I figured I had nothing to lose.
Only part I really liked was the monkeys. The movie looks much more epic and the manga comes out in march anyway so I figure I'll just wait until then, not like the animation adds much. If only this had KyoAni level animation then I'd be much more interested.

On the other hand, yeh... it feels like the developers traded a free lunch for someone to do the eps over a weekend or something, cause the quality is hilariously bad . I'm pretty confident though I'll look back at this series when Black Rock Shooter airs and go "man, that crappy flash show was better than this [BRS]". |

Basicly the scene where the protagonist tastes the drink and the other where he eats the egg made me think they could have used the "epic over the top nichijou animation" treatment.

I'm surprised someone opened this thread since it only has 3 episodes and 2 are already out.
I saw first 2 yesterday and I totally LOVED it!! It was funny and fun to watch with a pretty interesting story. The animation is so-so, but it's worth watching nonetheless.

What the hell, Thermae Romae got TV anime???
The book is only up to 4 volumes, this is not a good idea.... I wonder if they'll stop at vol.3 or so. Vol.4 just started a very long arc, TV would easily catch up to it in middle of it. I kinda wish they waited another year or so, at least until we got through this current long arc. That being said, I haven't watched the anime, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the original manga. It's been running for a few years now, on-and-off since it's randomly serialized seasonally. It's one of the biggest surprise hit manga in recent years (It's selling like nuts in Japan. )

Hell, this 3 episodes is blatantly nothing more than a glorified advertising for the live-action movie.

So it just covers the humorous introductory chapters. The story was starting go historical lane then took a nosedive in an.... unexpected route in the manga recently.

Really fun and refreshingly different anime show.
Flash animation does limit its appeal a bit, but I like the artwork a lot, and so the overall visual effect is not bad, imo. Dialogue is very well-written, and Lucius is a good main character.
