Episode 6
I think that was the first time we didn't get a real performance from the group. It's actually kinda interesting to learn more about Ai's background and how she died. A bit of a slow episode imo but important one for sure. Oh and Saki continues to remain my favorite character. She is a badass idol but also shows a caring side for her friends.

I did not expect we'd actually see how the girls, or at least some of them, actually died, even if Another, of all series, gave a better depiction of getting struck by lightning. Still a damn good reason to be scared of them, though. Of course, seeing the difference in times between Junko and Ai finally being put to use was great, and even a bit enlightening for those interested in idols, and of course, Saki and Sakura still being the heart and soul of the series is adorable. Never thought we would get so much out of Saki and I'm loving it.

Little comedy this time, but we got to learn more about Ai and Junko's previous lives, how they died, and how their philosophies are different. It was quite interesting. Quite the spectacular way Ai went out, but she doesn't want to be remembered only for that.

Damn, what a way to die! Though it seems her death overshadows her whole Idol career which is no wonder. I mean how many Idols died on the stage, stroke down by lighting before ten thousands of fans, burned to a crisp, still standing with the hand towards the heaven, your voice gone as the thunder of the lighting clams down~
If there was any videotape of that I bet that thing was watched millions of times. And people probably even say ten years later that they had been there when Ai died due lighting on stage. Saki is adorable. The tough biker leader is such a mom type. <3 Given the preview out zombie girls gonna be in deep shit, performing in the rain? Their make-up can never hold up to that!!!

Both Ai and Junko went out in crappy ways, I especially feel bad for Ai as not only did she get struck down in front of everyone, but that one event overshadowed her entire career.
I like how not just Sakura, but Saki also stepped up to try and work things out. Despite being against this whole idol thing from the start, she is starting to see the girls as her crew that she needs to take care of.

A friend pointed out that in earlier episodes Junko has a big fear of heights. might be natural but willing to bet since she flew before she died, much like Ai she has a fear related to her death now too. I mean you'd have to be crazy not to be afraid of heights after plummeting from the sky in a metal death container and dying in a fiery crash.

While this should be dramatic episode
I can't help but call Ai death a bullshit That stadium wasn't a fully open area there was roof and other things that higher than her And lightning just avoid all that and strike her? Wow, if that could truly possible then it was real a bad luck And I now understand Ai drive Who gonna want to remember because some accident, not her true skill and fame

Eh. She got SMOTE out away from the stage in the open. It might be the only place that was out of the protective blanked of the surrounding stage metal. And in the end no lightning rod is 100% effective, and can't prevent rangom flukes of a conducting path being found past it.
But MAN that's one way to go. You'd have to fight a dragon on stage for it to be more metal Also I feel, if we are going by the sample of these two, they all might have died in a way that was legendary at least in Saga. The other one died in a planecrash while flying to it, meaning a lot of Saga people died too. Oh and I noticed one thing that I appreciate. There isn't any unnecessary Yuri bait.* Kinda refreshing given the lowest common denominator baiting most shows go for. * No, I'm not saying there is no place for lesbian relationships. But more that it's tiring where every show panders to people by baiting them, but never doing anything with their Yuri bait. Here instead they are just girls. Not a bunch of characters that are supposed to be shipped.

Goddamn! So Ai died in a Michael Jackson fashion by a big spark of lightning.
I guess this is a Pt.1 and 2 with "Because it's Sentemental Saga" and "Because it's Zombiemental SAGA" It looks like Yugiri got decapitated in the past, but I'm worried for the worse for what happened to Lily |

Because It's Sentimental SAGA
The show has ended the first half and reached the halfway point, meaning an episode full with drama introspection on the characters, which in case both Junko and Ai became the focus.
The parallels drawn between those two couldn't be more polar opposite in terms of performing duties as an idol. In one extreme, Junko cannot come to terms with the changing times, unlike Yugiri, preventing her from adapting to the duties, conventions, and mannerisms that the present-day idol industry is running. Literally, from shaking hands to have her pictures taken alongside the fans were unfathomable and unthinkable activities to idols back at the time when Junko was alive. Furthermore, she felt further discouraged to continue with Franchouchou when learned from Ai that in the present times idols don't mind much making small mistakes in their performances as long as their audiences have fun, enjoy the show, and interact with their idols whereas Junko worked in said industry in an era when idols were more conscious with every tiny detail on their performances in order to deliver the perfect show that was meant to be pleasing and fulfilling for the audience. On the other extreme, because of her untimely and brutal death, Junko cannot let go off the past due to feeling unfulfilled that her career as an idol ended abruptly just when she was beginning to rise to stardom, and the manner of her death left her with quite an unsavory legacy that she will be both associated and remembered for. |

Nice Bird SAGA in Your Heart
I want to go back to episode five discussion for a tiny break just before the seventh one airs this week due that I forgot to cover it two weeks ago.
This one is gold hilarious, as they much parody commercials for a local franchise as well as regional sports competitions in Saga, a.k.a. Gatalympics. Before watching this episode, I gave myself the chance to view the real-life commercial to Drive-In Tori, and, in comparison to the episode, the staff nailed every detail in it for the anime. Tae delivered her best, freaky zombie antics the most particularly when she attempted to bite at Cocco-san several times throughout the CM rehearsals, her cock-a-doodle cry, and she literally tearing herself apart at the climax of the Gatalympics, mud swing competition for LMAO effects. Of course, her cock-a-doodle towards the end was such a nice bird, as Kotaro put it. |

Episode 7 is here!
I swear, this show has a funny gimmick about cars hitting characters. Looks like we got Junko trying to overcome her fear. That performance under the rain is quite something... Nice episode. That song is also pretty catchy too. Being a zombie also helped that they didn't die again. I love how the producers managed to make that performance look unique afterwards. Well done girls!
