By far the most amazing Mikumikudance video yet, despite the fact that it's not singing nor dancing. It's Monomane! (impressions)

Specifically from the semi annual (I think) monomane special, which I gather is in the format of 1. Comic comes out. 2. Comic states whom he/she/they are doing an impression of. 3. Comic does impression until host presses a button opening a trap door which drops the comic below stage. 4. Repeat.

Also, I find this video a perfect case study for "breaking out" on niconico. It's been number 1 for almost a full day, has 166,000 views ATM... But if you go to the guy's mylist, you see that he's been putting out little clips of this video for weeks. And each of those individual videos never got more than 5,000 views before this one broke out.

Rin's 悪ノ娘, uploaded on April 4, never ranked in (as in, not even in the #6x's) during the first three weeks it was uploaded.

Len's 悪ノ召使, uploaded on April 29, ranked #3 on Weekly Ranking 31 (4/28~5/5) and directly brought 悪ノ娘 from rank-out to #5.

So speaking of which, I've yet to convince myself that the character in the Black rock shooter PV is not actually supposed to be Miku...

So is it? Or not? From the comments people seem to be debating it, but maybe there's an official stance on that issue .

The character in BRS is not Miku. That character is the illustrator's original character. It was the reason why the pictures of them are all deleted from Piapro, since they're technically not vocaloid-related.

Which means that picture post above should probably be removed, too. Not vocaloid.

For his(her?) next work, ryo should make an extremely difficult song that only Miku could ever sing properly ... Give 'em a challenge!

I don't know about the original character, but the hundreds of images that have been cropping up over the last three or four days are at the very least a play on Hatsune Miko and the Vocaloid video on Nicovideo. The earliest image I posted was the first. The artist, huke, posted it to his pixiv page in December of last year. It is tagged on pixiv as "初音ミクオリジナル曲." I don't pretend I can read Japanese, but I'm pretty sure "初音ミク" is Hatsune Miko.

Huke seems to be leading the charge as well.

As you can see, he has a number of versions of the song/video linked on his page. Some are not sung by Miko, but the first is. I started seeing the deluge of fan art soon after huke posted the Miko version last Friday. He's appears to be joking about the controversy as well. He has been favoriting Black Rock Shooter images right and left (as well as straight Miko work). He's done some straight Vocaloid work as well. Pixiv has been featuring that first image prominently.

Is anything known about who or what black rock shooter IS?

I haven't really bothered to think about the lyrics or anything, but is there a backstory to the character or the song? ryo's other songs have been more generic things so far, but this one seems like maybe there is some meaning behind it.

It seems this illustration was not originally based on hatsune miku or anything vocaloid. Maids x 3: It seems like that "Original Hatsune Miku Song" tag was added after the fact, as the original blog post does not mention vocaloid.
None of the original comments on the blog post mention vocaloid at all.

Tags on pixiv, Piapro and Nico Nico can be freely added by any user. The "Original Song" tag is probably added later on.
