i dont get why many ppl say this series is getting bad.......its still good to me though. still waiting for Vol 6.... but knowing that they announced it so earlier makes it sound kinda suspicious to me oh well Vol 3 also came out on Nov so im guessing the Books are coming at the same dates as vol 1,2,3.

A lot of characters getting relegated as mob chara after their arc ended, lots of characters still not explored, but the author keep adding more characters, repetitive plot advancement. Well, it's not that bad per se, there's a lot more worse ln out there, it's just that the story starts to get stale if you read it continuously.

Well, for me the most solid character design (and spot-on, too) would be Kotori's, followed by Kurumi's. Exactly how I envisioned them, IMO.

The design is good and compared to Haganai's god awful keyvisual and colors (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=3626693&postcount=106) which were enough to start a flame wars in the thread when it got released because was nothing like Buriki's style (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=3626260&postcount=101) and forced Asako Nishida to improve it asap or else face the fandom's wrath.

I have nothing against AIC+ but with that director that did School Days :heh::heh::heh:.

I know where the bad feelings came from.

Don't worry this is not a choose-one-girl-or-die but a comedic with action series and the animation from him is above average.

Nothing definitive, but I'm thinking it's not so much Halvanhalev as it is HVHL or whatever it could be (just like how Yahweh is actually YHWH) in hebrew or tetragramatton or something. That or it's something like Har Megiddo; I seriously have no clue.

I've been looking into the name of Tohka's final sword myself for quite a while now; still nothing.

If you are talking about Vol 1 chapt 4 a translator is working on it. I skipped to vol 2 thinking that john wanting to continue but he took over chapt 5 since someone else is doing 4 instead. so patience, itll appear someday.

That's in vol 4 assuming 12 ep, so 3 ep per vol? Really? I doubt it. ( Assuming they follow the novel completely that is) But then again I don't know how they are going to get through the kurumi stuff~

That's the thing that make me think they go Anime End or do what the Haganai anime did.
They they ended the first season, they did the first 3 vol's(But cut a lot things) and the last Ep was anime filler plus the first few chapters of vol 4.

Compared to the past, recent LN adaptation are much more well done, they kind of understood that adaptating a volume in 2 episode generally made the anime bad. 4 episode per volume is now the average and I think it's good so I doubt we will see Efreet Kotori.

Well there have been a few anime ends IMO that where ok. FMA(The first series was one.)
I dont think they would give it 24 Episodes. Maybe 13 Ep.

Q: How much of vol 4 is about Kurumi Still?
If I remember right most of that volume was flashbacks or something.

Seeing as how they dunt have Yuzuru or Kaguya in it, it won't go past vol 5 so it will be in vol 1 - 4, and with only 4 vol i doubt they wil make a 24 ep =w= but then again they can just introduce new character? ( Like put Yuzuru and Kaguya in there) (doubt it tho)

Actually the twins' personality is very interesting (at least, that's how I find them), and they're quite polar opposites in some ways, like their attitude or demeanour.

Kotori's personality is amusing because I find it really funny. The sharp contrast between her 'Imouto Mode' (white ribbons) and 'Commander Mode' (black ribbons), combined with her affection (or lack thereof) towards Shidou makes for great laughs for some situations.

(Count me part of the Kotori camp; imoutos need more love! :heh:)

I hope this series doesn't fall to typical harem stories where the main MC is just a weak and lame dude where he have to get protected by his superpowered harem all the time.

Unfortunately the MC here is quite useless other than sealing the spirit powers and awakening his inner gigolo. but still he wasnt meant for the battle type anyways, he has he strong heart and is kind if that is enough. Dont go expecting him to go all super saiyan and start beating everyone up. that just make the Series into a battle type.

Unfortunately the MC here is quite useless other than sealing the spirit powers and awakening his inner gigolo. but still he wasnt meant for the battle type anyways, he has he strong heart and is kind if that is enough. Dont go expecting him to go all super saiyan and start beating everyone up. that just make the Series into a battle type.

Not to mention the fact that the guy's only opponents are woman who are not fighting him for any evil purposes, just their own self preservation. If the guy went all Touma on them we can't really say he is taking the moral high ground in this situation.

By the way, just got my hands on the volume 5 scans and 2 things have stuck out to me so far. 1: MC is still an unbelievably lucky bastard... and 2: This weird moment at the end of the volume:

well at least this isnt like some novels where theres sex involved so far theres only kissing and more harem members damn this dude is a player but i like the whole romance part of it the shanagins are just a bonus as is the battle scenes but it's certainly a confusing storyline for me anyways lol ;p but i hope its not hard to tell whether the girls are actually "in" love with him like other novels cause if it is imma be one pissed woman >;p

It's her last sword, yes, but the actual name (in line with the Gnostic naming of each seirei's AstralDress/raiment and Angel) is still unsure, but Halvanhelev works fine so it's okay.

It also doesn't help that the author is keeping it (Halvanhelev's name's origin) a secret.

I want to see Princess, Hermit and Efreet and the Berserks in their full raiments in the future. ;_;

And I should start reading my copy of Volume 5 instead of just letting it sit in my box.

Speaking of which, I hope the animation keeps some of the hilarious dialogue intact; like Tohka's bit about mushroom bread; Kotori commenting on what a lovely red spot Shidou would make; all of Yoshinon's lines; and Kurumi's "anemia".

I'm just as scared as you are. I'd rather not focus on the animation, though; especially when we've got the books. I'd like to think of the animation as a big expensive advertisement, and seeing the characters voiced and animated is just a really big bonus for us. That way it's not as scary!

As with all kinds of adaptations, there's that fear that people who have knowledge of original materials would know of. Hopefully they will leave things open so that no original endings would be made. Perhaps they might take liberties here and there, though ultimately hope for a second season would be nice.

Because a request for summaries barely ends after having provided said summaries themselves; due to lack of context, they always open a can of worms to which the poster then has to respond to lest misinformation abound and everyone gets the wrong idea about what was mentioned. And it just doesn't stop with one question; a single question ends up having to be addressed at least thrice. Not to mention that coming up with summaries is never easy, no matter how easy it seems, because there will always be lack of clear details and context and you are essentially asking someone to dilute pages and pages of text to just a few lines.

Compared to, say, waiting for the actual translations to come out, reading it in full, and then just asking for further clarifications. "Summaries please" sometimes come off as "I want to have an idea of what happens but I can't wait for you guys to finish what you're doing out of the goodness of your hearts, so I'll ask and ask and ask and keep asking some more while lacking the necessary context and possibly slowing down the pace of the translation."

The interest is appreciated; the lack of understanding, not so much.

Well, if it was a suggestion, it certainly was not worded in the right manner. The tone of it came off as more demanding that someone give you some brief details of the summaries than you giving a suggestion. At least, a little bit of tact wouldn't hurt. We cannot tell what your true intentions were, and the post was the best indicator of such, especially on Internet forums. Not trying to be a party-pooper here but the context could be misconstrued as being offensive.

For untranslated series I can understand the need for summaries, but last I checked this one is getting translated at a pretty decent pace. What I was trying to say boils down to "just wait and then enjoy the actual thing once it's out". Good things comes to those who wait; besides, would you rather they take time from their translation efforts to hand you summaries (which will just leave you hanging), or let them go at it undisturbed so they can finish it sooner and you can read it much earlier?

@sureman If people found out about Shidou's power, what do you think they'd do to him? He get sliced up like a frog in a high school lab.

She posed as his sister because her power is sealed inside Shidou, which is why he can't die. Also, it is pretty obvious at this point that spirits tend to put Shidou as priority over the rest of humanity.

So, most likely she wants him to save all her fellow spirits, become a hero so the humans won't dissect him (alternatively, surround him with a super-powered harem who'd break the world in half if he gets hurt), and fix whatever went wrong in the first place to fix this mess.

Also, his real sister works for the people who would dissect him. I think.

P.S. I don't actually like Kotori, I'm just playing devil's advocate. I love a good argument.

^ that, I say you have to at least read a whole volume before you can really judge a series, and even then opinions might differ from you and other people, and in future volumes your opinions can change. The twins pretty much try to one-up each other when attempting to get Shidou's favour. Not that any of them show any restraint when it comes to seducing him. However, their behaviour to Shidou is all I'm clear about. How they react to the other characters however; I'm not really clear about that, sorry.

The prologue of volume 5 is quite a good little bit (and it's pretty amusing too) but again it's their "reverse conquest" of Shidou. You rarely see heroines trying to get the guy rather than the other way around.

Basically its a war game between these two to see who is dorminant since they were originally one Spirit but separated.

Funny scene : ending part: they wanted to thank Shidou so they went to meet him. (he's injured Btw) then some conversation took place and both of them took turns to kiss him saying its a thanks and then....their clothes Blows off since they are wearing their AstralDresses. And then well.........naked~~ and then bend down covering their body. Shidou Panics and Tohka appears. She then suddenly go Terminator on Shidou the second she saw the Two naked and then....."WHAT THE HELL WHERE YOU DOING SHIDO!!!!". basic harem ending for a Volume :heh::heh:

Feel free to edit it if any of you guys feel like it; even though I am the one who made the page, I'm too much of a lazy B**tard to actually put the tropes in myself. There is no incest guys, first thing, Mana can barely interact with Shidou and she isn't into Shidou in that way (she just hates she can't spend time with him and Kotori is with him instead) and Kotori isn't his real sister.

Just joking guys, I wasn't actually saying there was incest in the series (leave that for the Oremo discussions), I'm fully aware there isn't any subtext for it. :joke:

Hi, i have a question. I really like this series and I can sort of speak japanese and understand it, and i can even read hiragana and katakana, but I cant read the raws because i have no idea how to read kanji. Is there any way for me to get around this, or am i going to have to learn 1000+ different kanji first, because that seems like it would take a while. Thanks.

if you can read chinese then thats one way. for english..........we're still Translating. Or you can take the long road and study Jap, and be able to read other books too. i picked the last one when DAL first came out.

self-learned i just bought a dictionary and started learning the basics. you can check the methods using google if you'd like

Hopefully I'm not one to infringe. I was initially going to address this as a private message like what Riki is doing, but seeing as this could also apply for those who wish to learn Japanese, I might as well post it here.

First of all, you have to remember that despite the intimidating number of kanjis, you will not be learning all of them at the same time nor will you be using all of them at once. Much like the English language and its thousands of words, most have degrees of usage and apply to particular contexts. This is what you need to keep in mind.

I suggest familiarizing yourself with furigana for the basic kanjis; by basic I am referring to the ones that will be commonly used. You can use sites like http://www.romajidesu.com/ in an attempt to look up kanjis via their furigana readings, or their english equivalent. In case you are familiar with it, I suggest using some program which can help you keep track of kanjis and their furiganas like Mecab or JParser.

Then, try something like opening a notepad or some such text processor, and writing down the furiganas/kanjis that elude you. Just take it slow and easy, and remember the context that those kanjis will be present in. Eventually you should get the hang of it.

Learning the language is not easy, yes. But it's also not as impossible as people make it out to be.

EDIT2- I forgot to add that using Microsoft IME Pad to draw out the kanjis is also a helpful tool.

For the most part, Tohka is the one who gets a lot of focus out of all the seirei. Even when the volume is not about her, she still remains present (unlike a certain poor loli seirei and her smart-mouthed perverted puppet). While her treatment is close to main heroine status, I wouldn't really call her the main heroine...as there are ten (well, eleven) of them. XD And we've only been exposed to five (six if you're getting specific) of them so far.

well that is the problem.....if they reach to vol 3 they have to compress 4 vol's in 12 eps.. cuz vol 3 is part 1 and vol 4 is part 2. itll most probably be rushed if it is done so. worst case scenario is a original ending.........(no comment)......and best most unlikely news is 24 eps, but since 24 eps would most likely cover to vol 6 which is unknown now then the chances is very very low
