Anyway, anyone knows of Horie Yui's blog post on a host from Mezamashi TV calling SMAP "old"? She removed it from her blog due to the flame wars.

Well, she's pro-SMAP. But, to help calm matters down, she took down her post.

Rie Tanaka - Guest of Honor at NYAF!

I'm very happy to announce Japanese voice actress Rie Tanaka will appear at New York Anime Festival 2008 as a Guest of Honor. Ms. Tanaka is most known around the globe for voicing Lacus Clyne in Gundam SEED, Chii in Chobits, and Suigintou in Rozen Maiden, but this is just the tip of her resume.

While Ms. Tanaka is most recognized for her roles in Gundam SEED, Chobits, and Rozen Maiden, she's contributed her voice to characters in over 50 animations, with some standouts including Simca in Air Gear, Yomi in Azumanga Daioh, Sei in Burst Angel, Hiroko Matsukata in Hataraki Man, Monica Lange in Macross Frontier, Tomoe Marguerite in My-Otome, Saki in Steel Angel Kurumi, and Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke in Strike Witches. In addition, Ms. Tanaka is also the voice behind songs featured in many of the series she's worked on including Azumanga Daioh, Burst Angel, Chobits, and Gundam SEED.

Beyond question-and-answer and autograph sessions, Ms. Tanaka will perform a selection of her songs at the start of NYAF's World Cosplay Summit Masquerade -- a costume contest with prizes including a trip to Japan.
I hope you'll join me in September in welcoming Rie Tanaka to NYC and the USA!

POSTED BY PETER TATARA AT 8:56 AM

The New York Anime Festival 2008 will be held from Friday, September 26, 2008 to Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, NY, USA.

Samuel L Jackson, the best VA I ever heard.

Man, I just got all of Afro Samurai, and I was blown away by Samuel's VA on anime. Now true, he's a legendary actor so it's kinda unfair to compare him to people that just do anime voices, but still. I've only got through 2 episodes and I'm loving the series. But so far, I'm definitely looking forward towards Afro Samurai Season 2, just so I can hear Samuel's voice acting again lmao.

My favorite part so far was him and the rpg's lol.

Seriously I don't remember much of Kiba either. I liked his Tamaki but didn't really bother to check him out, till he made that cute laugh in ep24 (min 21:32~21:38). I don't know how to put it but it just struck me at that instant that Mamoru is actually damn freakin' good! His portrayal of Light was astounding, he sounded so epic in it. What's more, he has the looks and sings very well. That's actually quite shocking to me tbh, seeing that guy seiyuus are rarely all that.

He can sing live!
Dubbing Tamaki and Light live - it's so fun to watch this.

On a side note, I can't make up my mind about Fukuyama Jun. Sometimes he's awesome, sometimes he sounds very annoying.

The most flawless, beautiful seiyuu's voice I've ever heard is Nana Mizuki's.
The most absolutely stunning, gorgeous, and perfect character that she has voiced is Fate Testarossa. Everything of which I stated is indeed a fact.

In any case, we need more information. Would appreciate it if someone could translate the picture's text in the link.

Bleh, I don't see as much love for Ueda Kana as there should be. What's wrong with the cutest Kansai-ben styled voice in the industry?

I'll throw Tamura Yukari and Yui Horie into the mix of my favorite VA's as well. Combine the three and you get Kashimashi, a series with mediocre plot and characters that was made good out of sheer VA quality

There is, just not here. Though the spotlight on her isn't as big as it should be, since it's just Toshokan Sensou's DVD bonus episode. And count me in as a fan of hers. I sure hope the spotlight won't stay small though, with Marimite's 4th season incoming.

Tamura's got technical talent, but I guess she's just not infecting me with either of the two normal voices that we usually hear her use. Horie did though, thanks to Toradora. Her liveliness pervades the show.
