I just noticed that the name of the reverse-trap is spelled Heroin and not Heroin-e, with katakana, which makes me wonder if it's intentional.

That's not her name. That's how heroine is written in katakana. Don't tell you me pronounce it he-ro-i-ne in English... :P

Alphard (Alpha Hydrae) is the brightest star in the the constellation Hydra, marking the heart of the snake.

Alphard in the CANAAN anime is a big boss of the Snake criminal organization. She is Canaan's nemesis.

A Japanese anime fan wondered if Alphard is the first villain played by Sakamoto Maaya. I recall that she did voice the villain in the .hack//Legend of the Twilight anime, Morte.

On the other hand, Liang Qi appears to be another one of the ever expanding line of villains played by Tanaka Rie. Liang Qi is a member of the Snake crime syndicate, she worships Alphard, and she intensely dislikes Canaan.

Yunyun has an inferiority complex about her small breasts.

Hakkoo looks like another quiet, softspoken Noto Mamiko character..

Maaya wasn't really a villain in Legend of Twilight. But recently she played Rip Van Winkle in Hellsing OVA Vol4, and Crono in Soul Eater. Both are villain roles, although Crono turns into an ally eventually.

Tanaka Rie as a villain always works.
Her character working with Sakamoto Maaya sounds interesting (though their characters didn't get along so well in Kara no Kyoukai )

Hopefully this won't be a borefest with only Tanaka Rie's evil voice as a saving grace as the first episode of Kara no Kyoukai.

My memory was fuzzy on .hack//Legend of the Twilight. I posted that Morte was a villain after reading this.
