The Shikabane Hime anime will be two seasons:
First anime season is titled:
屍姫 赫
Shikabane Hime Aka
Braodcast starts: Autumn 2008
Second anime season is titled:
屍姫 玄
Shikabane Hime Kuro
Broadcast starts: Winter 2009
While the animation production of both seasons are by Gainax and feel, but the first anime season will be the Gainax version, and the second anime season will be the feel version.

I heard about the KoJika OVA and posted it on my blog (http://giapet.net/), and there I was informed by a reader (http://giapet.net/2008/07/13/the-kodomo-no-jikan-never-ends/#comment-8927)-- who has the DVD that came with v5 of the manga, or else knows someone who does --that the OVA actually IS the second season.
Ahh yeah, the new Kodomo no Jikan OVA series is the second season that was announced before.

It's not that any of the OVA episodes already released are the second season. A second season is coming, but it'll be released as an OVA series. Maybe I was the only one getting confused, but there you have it... :heh:

Moonphase updated their site, and... I'm not quite sure whether to be happy or upset.
This is NOT good news for Bleach fans. Stitch!, Disney and Madhouse's reimagining of the Lilo & Stitch franchies, will be replacing Bleach come this October 2008 on TV-Tokyo and affiliates. It will also be airing on the Disney Channel. Stitch is scheduled to air at 7:30PM on Wednesday. No exact date was given other than sometime in October.
I'm wondering if they're changing timeslots for Bleach...

Looking at that list of what's coming out, it looks like I'll have to clear up some hard drive space. summer for me wasn't that great. a few shows to follow, but mostly catching up on older stuff that's been collecting webs on my drive. Not fun for me.
We'll see how things go though. HOPEFULLY I'll have a nice full season where I'm pulling my hair trying to manage 5-10 shows again >_> (reminds self to update list)

Yes it ended early due to very low sales which just leaves one word in mind when I see that it's getting an anime, why?

Heh I was to post the same thing. Yeah hope they do certain things differently in the anime, did not like how the characters were introduce in the manga made it hard and confusing as to who was the main character(s) or if it was going to follow anyone specifiably also concentrate more on the interesting characters or even cut certain characters because they weren't interesting at all.

Looks like Waki Yamato's Asaki Yumemishi (Tale of Genji) (http://asakiyumemishi-anime.com/) manga will be animated, scheduled on January 2009. It's gonna take up the Noitamina block, after Nodame Cantabile Paris chapter.
I find it timely that they'll be animating this not long after Kure-nai, which contains many Tale of Genji references. What a way to commemorate 1000th anniversary of this epic novel.

Early death of the manga can't always be used as a predictor; just look at "Strawberry Panic". Two tankoban, only reaching the end of the first novel, then the manga dies; followed by an anime that only very distantly relates to either. It seems that all is fair in love and anime :p

I don't know whether to feel happy or disconcerted about this announcement. Again, a choice I don't understand at all :heh:. If it’s something like Okawari, oh please, don’t give us more…
Anyway, I guess it’s better to see which studio is going to do this supposedly third installment before I get my hopes up—or down. I thoroughly enjoyed the first series, but I felt somewhat disappointed with the second. If they decide to do something with the Minami-ke franchise, they should stick with the manga this time around—which Okawari did not do as far as I know.

Oh wow, this could single-handedly counteract all the moe fanservice out there and restore balance to the Universe. Surely though they're not going to try and squeeze the whole thing into 11 episodes - perhaps they'll just adapt part of the manga and leave the door open to future seasons?
I'm ashamed to say that after all these years I still haven't read the novel. I'm hearing things about Penguin Musume Heart 2nd Club, and Live On CARDLIVER Kakeru.

Penguin Musume Heart is just gonna be extended from the original 12 to 22 episodes. CARDLIVER is on, airing on October 5.

Either that or they decided to just throw the alphabetical titles to the wind, and will be covering stuff at an absolutely nutty pace for the last couple episodes of Revolution.

100% certain? No. But making an announcement at the end of a series where everything points towards it being an unfinished story that you're making a new series that'll be be starting with an unfinished story and then a break seems... silly.
Essentially, the author's comment on the division of the 'future' series describes the situation that the current series is in. It's completely possible that he means that there'll be another series that does what the current series is doing now, but I find that a bit of a stretch, especially if it's just on the semantic definition of what exactly 'new series' entails, be it totally different production, or a new batch of episodes.
Of course, this is reading a shitload into a two sentence blurb, so I'm going to sleep.

YES! I'm extremely excited to see this since I love his character design work and Gonzo's last really ambitious project with him Last Exile is probably my all-time favorite show. I was sooo looking forwards to his work on Mardock Scramble, so I'm really thankful that he'll be doing the character design on a big new series.

Very true, it looks like this is his first big TV series after doing some well-known films and episode directing and storyboarding on some big shows among other projects so hopefully he'll be pretty ambitious/motivated with this if the scifi novel supports such a thing and it's not a low-key type storyline since I don't know anything more than what ANN wrote, I'd love to see that. For now I'll be excited by the good production design crew listed and one of my favorite character designers.

That would be cool, I don't know how much work it would be to do two versions one like this and one printer friendly version next season but this is a nice resource as is.

Reportedly, a multi-national production partnership will develop an animated feature film based on the late Oscar-winning director Akira Kurosawa’s final screenplay “The Mask of the Black Death.” Kurosawa and co-writer Masato Ide developed the “Black Death” script as an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s 1842 short story “The Masque of the Red Death,” moving the original story’s setting from medeval Europe to early 20th century Russia.
The animated film will be produced by Japanese companies Kurosawa Production and Lotus, American based companies Lexicon Film Entertainment & Harbor Light Entertainment, and Singapore based Upside Down Entertainment for release in 2010, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Kurosawa’s birth.

More Bakugan... announced. Not sure if this'll be simply for Foreign release or not, similar to what happened with Sonic X.
A second season of Bakugan is in the works from co-production partners Nelvana Enterprises, Spin Master, Sega Toys and TMS Entertainment. Currently in production, season two of the anime series is titled Bakugan: New Vestroia (26x30) and will be ready for air in spring 2009. Bakugan currently airs on Cartoon Network (US) and Teletoon (Canada). Bakugan toys/accessories based on the property are available in the US, Canada, Australia and much of Asia, and set to bow in France and the UK for holiday 2008 and across the rest of Europe in 2009 in tandem with broadcast debuts.

Apparently, from what I'm reading, the Rideback anime has been slated for a January 2009 airdate. I think it was confirmed in Ikki Comics but I'm not quite sure. The film is tentatively scheduled for a summer 2009 release.
The film is the story of teen girl “Haruka,” who gets lost in a mystical world of creatures that collect the forgotten and abandoned treasures of childhood.
Reportedly the film is being created with a new proprietary animation system that translates hand-drawn images into 3D CG. Production I.G. and Fuji TV hope that this new animation technology will allow them to compete with the popularity of major Hollywood produced CG animation films.

The plot sounds eerily familiar. Wasn't there a manga about a world where all the forgotten and needless things once owned by humans go to? And each of them have a soul of some sort, too. There was also a shop that's run by a human. Rather sad little piece that makes a person think. *scratches head* It's probably a different piece of work but the premise of this Haruka and the Magic Mirror project reminds me of it.

Heh, by this another Super Dash Bunko light novel series will be getting animated :) just great to see another boy's label getting more and more anime adaptations, I mean the boy's light novel label Dengeki Bunko gets so many anime >_< and yet other boy's light novel labels get so little >_< , and yet here we get another boy's light novel label (Super Dash Bunko) that's having more and more anime adaptations :) its still uncomparable to how many anime adaptations Dengeki Bunko gets, but at least its better than other labels...

Ahh there's also the anime adaptation of the shounen light novel seies Project MP (also a Super Dash Bunko light novel series), but is the anime adaptation confirmed? or was it just a mistake (from the publisher's side)?
MOON PHASE speculated at first whether it was a misprint, since he was expecting a separate Akikan! anime announcement. Later on, he added a post scriptum saying that it indeed was a misprint. However, if he had posted the announcement solely on the basis of the publisher's first FAX message, he should have also mentioned the anime adaptation for Tatakae! Shouchikubai Koutou Gakkou Manga Kenkyuu-bu, which was mentioned in the same product section as Project MP (ANN chose to report (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-10-13/project-mp-shochikubai-novels-to-get-2009-tv-anime) it). The product section's title was the only indicator for the possibility of anime announcements, but it wasn't clear enough which work was getting an anime and which was getting a manga. If you were to read it, it could be either of them, could be both, etc. MOON PHASE refrained from announcing Tatakae! Shouchikubai Koutou Gakkou Manga Kenkyuu-bu, which leads me to believe he had another source confirming Project MP.
So you can draw two conclusions from all of this: either his other source was also misinformed about the anime adaptation (they both could have read the same FAX message) OR he merely disowned the FAX message--after receiving the new one--as a legit source, but the anime might still happen if his unspoken source is legit.
I don't know, I guess it's easier to believe Project MP won't be getting an anime, but then again who's to say a one volume light novel is exempt from getting an anime adaptation.

Not sure if this is American made or Japanese made, but if it's a latter, looks like we'll have a new Sonic anime on our hands:
Sonic the Hedgehog is appearing in his first short animated film! Follow along as Sonic and his pal make their way into an eerie haunted house only to discover a bunch of mischievous ghosts looking for a good scare. Stay tuned to see what silliness happens when the full moon comes out and Sonic transforms into the Werehog and goes up against some creepy spirits in Sonic: Night of the Werehog. Can the Werehog keep his cool or will the ghosts own this fright-mare?

It's apparently titled Sonic: Night of the Werehog and will be a CGI movie short. The official site is here (http://www.sega.com/sonicunleashed/notw/), but nothing seems to be up yet. It's supposed to be released next month or something. No mention yet if Sega of Japan is going to release this or not. It wouldn't shock me if it didn't, even if it turns out to be Japanese animated. Given what happened with Sonic X and several Sonic games in which they were not released in Japan, there is a chance this could happen as well.

Apparently the December issue of Newtype Magazine, which goes on sale in Japan on the 10th, will include a confirmation that Kyoto Animation’s first original anime title, the unfinished two episode Munto OVA series, will be remade as a television series titled Sora wo Miageru Shojo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai (The World Reflected in the Eyes of a Girl Looking Up at the Heavens) for broadcast next year.
Newtype reports that original OVA series scriptwriter & director Kigami Yoshiji will write and direct the television series. Original OVA series character designer Aratani Tomoe will also again provide character designs for the TV series.
Kyoto Animation released its first Munto fantasy action OVA in 2003, and the second in 2005. Central Park Media released the two OVAs on domestic DVD in 2004 & 2006.

That would be Kodansha's Young Magazine where the manga is serialised. I'd consider this bad news personally, since asread are supposed to be working on Kiddy Grade 2...

he.. this is a good news indeed assuming the animation quality this time around is much better than the first and gets better script material. The first season IMO was below average but still watchable, however, it's plot didn't make sense to me at all. And the quality seem to be focused in the anime's ED :rolleyes:
