For the love of god stop the preety cure >.< Go back to doremi or make something new...I know ithas high marketing but still
Definitely looking foward to 'Valkyria Chronicles'. If it's as good as 'Sakura Taisen' I'm there.
According to MoonPhase's anime list, 07-Ghost (セブンゴースト) the fantasy manga by Yuki Amemiya (雨宮由樹) and Yukino Ichihara (市原ゆき乃) will be adapted in TV anime series.
Besides the online listing for the 6th volume of Enterbrain's Charaberrys magazine includes a mention of a "preview guide book for the new 07-Ghost show in April." However it's not officially announced.

Sailor moon lasted around 200 episodes, Doremi is also around 200 episodes. Why is Pretty Cure getting another season D: Toei, I want a new mahou shoujo series from you.
I doubt we'll get anymore Doremi. Since the director went to make Ouran and Soul Eater...and they're both good ^_^''

Yeah... Especially since the story of Pandora Hearts is neither action oriented nor fanservice heavy :uhoh:

OK guys, I grant that XEBEC doesn't do much for me, but you have to give Takao some slack on To Love-Ru; he did pretty good, considering the scripts he was working with.

Actually, I think Busou Renkin was quite good, I don't know much about Pandora Hearts, but if he can pull something like BR it is enough for me.

XEBEC manages to sneak it into every anime. Seriously. I've not seen one anime they've done where there wasn't fanservice.
Anyways, seems that Square Enix is shooting to get anime adaptions for alot of their serialized manga. I'm a bit curious about this, so I'll check it out once it's animated. I'm just hoping that sooner or later we'll get something "Kingdom", and not just "Pandora." :heh:
Anyways, seems that Square Enix is shooting to get anime adaptions for alot of their serialized manga.
What's more, it seems that they do pad the budget for these shows a fair bit, which could turn out well.
Getchu.com retailer has announced (http://www.getchu.com/soft.phtml?id=602065) (NSFW) that the third Mahou Shoujo Ai erotic game installment, Mahou Shoujo Ai Mitsu, will be getting an adult anime adaptation. Erotic game brand colors will release (http://www.getchu.com/soft.phtml?id=591685) the game on December 19. OVA vol.1 release is set to January 25. Animation production by Milky's Pictures.

Yeah, they actually join the respective production committees now (planning, financing, etc.). It's great to see such a big player ramping up anime output.

The fantasy manga Letter Bee (Tegami Bachi) may be getting an anime adaptation (http://www.animekon.com/news-711-Letter-Bee-Anime-Adaptation-Hinted.html) in 2009, according to comments made on TV by Shueisha's Jump Square magazine editor-in-chief, Masahiko Ibaragi. Not to be confused with the recent anime short (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=1572954&postcount=2349) that was shown this fall during the Jump Super Anime Tour events in Japan.
The Tegami Bachi manga was so far compiled into 5 volumes, and was licensed for North American distribution by Viz Media earlier this year.

Kawasumi Ayako is a sorta surprise choice for Reina on the Queen's Blade drama CD. A casting rumor for several characters dating back to May 2008 had pegged Hirano Aya as Reina in the Queen's Blade televison animation series.
(Some Japanese fans thought Nakahara Mai would be cast as Reina.)
On the other hand, that same casting rumor did have Tanaka Rie as Nyx in the Queen's Blade TV anime series.
Maybe more on this later, including other rumored voice actor casting choices for the Queen's Blade TV anime series, as well as seiyuu who voiced characters on prior Queen's Blade drama CDs.
Unless they get Sekirei'd again, it looks like Kawasumi Ayako (Musubi on the Sekirei drama CD) will play Reina and Tanaka Rie (Tsukiumi on the Sekirei drama CD) will play Nyx in the Queen's Blade TV anime series.

I was just browsing the Moonphase list and I noticed that today something is changed:
Queen's Blade is no longer listed as "January '09", but as a generic "2009", while the opposite happened for Sora Wo Kakeru Shoujo (2009 -> January '09).
Is this true? Queen's Blade has been delayed?
So the important announcement about Natsu no Arashi! that I mentioned in this post (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=2011929&postcount=2710) turned out to be true :)

Young Animal has announced (http://www.earlbox.sakura.ne.jp/#20081125) that Kamiyama Kenji will be directing a new TV anime series titled Eden of The East. Broadcasts are slated to start in Fuji TV's Noitamina time slot in April 2009.
So this was the missing Noitamina series, then.
Interesting, for what I can see is another historical anime, just after Tale of Genji (and Sugiura (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=46746) retired 15 year ago). To bad the title is no just "Eden" ;_; (well, maybe Endo's Eden is not suitable for Noitamina... or maybe it is).
Edit:

Young Animal has announced (http://www.earlbox.sakura.ne.jp/#20081125) that Eden of The East, originally a 1989 manga series by Sugiura Hinako, will be getting a TV anime series. Kamiyama Kenji will be directing. Broadcasts are slated to start in Fuji TV's Noitamina time slot in April 2009.
So this was the missing Noitamina series, then.
It's not a manga adaptation. Kamiyama is credited as both creator (原作, gensoku, literally "original work") and director.
The character designs are by Chika Umino, artist of Honey and Clover and March Comes In Like a Lion. As March Comes In... is serialised in Young Animal, that's where the announcement is.
Interesting, for what I can see is another historical anime, just after Tale of Genji (and Sugiura retired 15 year ago). To bad the title is no just "Eden" ;_; (well, maybe Endo's Eden is not suitable for Noitamina... or maybe it is).
It's clearly not a historical anime. The promotional picture shows a hybrid mobile phone and watch, not something historical in the slightest (we're about due for another sci-fi Noitamina show anyway, it'll have been three years since Jyu-Oh-Sei). Sci-fi with Umino character designs could be very interesting indeed...
I'm definitely intrigued (I'm always interested in Noitamina shows), but I'm still a bit wary of Kamiyama as a director, let alone a writer. I really don't care for the GitS saga in the slightest, and Seirei no Moribito was very much an up and down experience for me.
It's not a manga adaptation. Kamiyama is credited as both creator (原作, gensoku, literally "original work") and director.Ahh, thanks. Funny though, Sugiura's manga does exist, and yeah, I've considered it to be "historical" in nature too, considering Noitamina and all.

A Katanagatari review can be read here:
http://easternstandard.pbwiki.com/Katanagatari
wait, what? Katanagatari? His Bakemonogatari series still haven't even aired yet! Since Bakemonogatari announced back in April, and is going to aired in (presumably) April next year. Katanagatari will probably aired sometimes in January, 2010.
^ That only really applies if the same studio team were going to handle it. SHAFT are doing Bakemonogatari, for all we know J.C Staff could be doing Katanagatari...
^ That only really applies if the same studio team were going to handle it.
No, what I mean is the time between Bakemonogatari anime announcement and actual broadcast schedule is exactly one year, so I think Katanagatari might be the same, that is, if it's going to be produced under Aniplex.
But again, announcing new series while his first anime series still haven't revealed casts information, or even main character's character design, is definitely strange. :heh:

Abunai Sisters Trailer Released
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The official homepage for Production I.G’s upcoming Abunai Sisters: Koko & Mika OVA (http://abunaisisters.net/) now features a 30 second teaser trailer. International ordering for the 90 minute long anime DVD is also now open. The current price per special edition DVD stands at 34,000 yen ($362). The price per DVD will decrease, down to a minimum of 6,500 yen ($69), depending on the total number of orders placed by January 29, 2009.
ROFL, that's a great marketing strategy. Make an anime noone wants to buy, then price it accordingly and let everyone know it's going to be a failure.

This is an ANN link that suggests La Corda D'Oro is getting a sequel series based on a new game called La Corda D'Oro 2 Forte. The source of the news might not be fully reliable though because the article says it was a leak from a game retailer.

Mamoru Hosoda (Tokikake) next movie is finally coming on summer 2009, it's called Summer Wars. You can find a pic here (http://www.manganimation.net/news/2008/12/newtype-news-mamoru-hosoda-summer-wars-x-basquash/) (from 2chan).
Looking forward to that! What ever happened to his Gonzo project anyway Manuloz?
It got cancelled. This project was suppose to shape up before Madhouse took an hold of him. I don't know why, i think it had to do with Gonzo financial problems at some point they were suppose to embark on animated movie production as Madhouse do, but they never had the chance after Brave Story. There was also a movie project around Mahiro Maeda... that never happenned too.

Scanned through the thread, and apparently the information hasn't been posted.
For those who remember Basquash, apparently the information has been released "officially", regarding the staff and production. According to Moonphase, it's been confirmed that the series will air sometime in 2009 on MBS. The Staff and Character listing (as with voice actors) were also revealed. Here's the translation (as with the original japanese) writing of the information:

Hopefully I got everything correct... Character names I'm unsure on. Not sure if the person who posted the staff listing by accident earlier could correct me if they know anything.
By the way, you were wondering on ANN if this project was a co-production with France. The answer is no, as you can see on the staff it's a satelight original project. After Oban Star Racer some of the french staff stayed in Japan mainly Thomas Romain and Stanislas Brunet. I thin they stayed a bit longuer with the japanese studio who produced the animation for Oban, then they moved to Satelight. Thomas Romain worked on Kissdum as art designer, then Stan worked on Macross F as set decorator. Stan is also working on Basquash but apparently he is not credited on the main staff, but he also worked on the mecha design.
If the question pop up, that was Thomas Romain who spoiled the news to soon on the Catsuka (http://www.catsuka.com/home.php) forum ^^'

Event-Only Urusei Yatsura Anime to Debut This Month
2009's combined issue #2/3 of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine has confirmed on Wednesday that the long-delayed new Urusei Yatsura anime special will premiere at the "It's a Rumic World" exhibition on December 23 in Sendai, Japan. This will be the first anime spinoff from Rumiko Takahashi's 1978-1987 slapstick comedy manga in 17 years, and it will be exclusively shown at this traveling display of Takahashi's artwork. The exhibition began this past summer in Tokyo with brand-new Inuyasha and Ranma ½ anime specials, but the Urusei Yatsura special was not finished in time.
Voice actress Fumi Hirano reprises her role as Lum, an alien princess who came to invade Earth, but ends up "marrying" a lecherous Japanese boy in a comedy of errors. Hirano played the same role in 195 television episodes, one television special, six theatrical films, and 11 animated videos from 1981 to 1991. Hirano and Toshio Furukawa (Lum's accidental mate Ataru) also voiced their roles in a separate opening animation clip for the ongoing exhibition; that crossover clip included the main characters from Urusei Yatsura, Ranma ½, and Inuyasha.

Although it wasn't announced on the official site as of yet (or Japanese end for that matter), Thomas Romain said that Basquash! is scheduled to air on April 2009 and will be aired in a late night timeslot. The original information can be read over at CATSUKA (http://www.catsuka.com/news_detail.php?id=1228839105), although it's in french. It'll be 26 episodes as well. Apparently it'll also have two different manga series launched as well.
The anime adaptation of Miwa Shirow’s DOGS/BULLETS&CARNAGE manga will be an OVA adaptation. It will be getting 2 OVA episodes. The first OVA episode will be released on May 19th, 2009, and the second OVA episode will be released on July 17th, 2009.

I am afraid Musou Kakyou might disappoint fans of Toho.
This would be "the second shock" following Hoshi no Kioku. :(
In fact, both of them are Doujin works and aren't spent much money on.
The shounen(boy's) light novel series Bungaku Shoujo by Nomura Mizuki (author) and Takeoka Miho (illustrator) got 2 manga adaptations:
http://lightnovel.org/2008/05/07/bungaku-shoujo-to-get-a-manga-adaptation
http://lightnovel.org/2008/10/11/bungaku-shoujo-to-get-a-second-manga-adaptation
And now it even got an official site:
http://www.bungakushoujo.jp/
The light novel series is published under Enterbrain's shounen(boy's) light novel label Famitsu Bunko (http://www.comipedia.com/light-novel-label/famitsu-bunko).
This really feels like it will be getting an anime adaptation :) I was wondering about an anime adaptation here (http://lightnovel.org/2008/10/11/bungaku-shoujo-to-get-a-second-manga-adaptation) (when it got a second manga adaptation), but now, there's even an official site  its almost as saying "an anime adaptation will be announced".
I wonder if an anime adaptation of it will be announced on Comiket 75.
If it doesn't get animated, I know just one person here (ganbaru) that will be dissapointed about my false prediction. oh well :heh:
Nippon Animation has opened an official site for the Konnichiwa Anne TV anime series:

The anime will start broadcast on April 5th, 2009.

Hopefully this post (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=1591735&postcount=2) that contains upcoming TV anime series is helpful to some.
I'm also thinking about the creation of another post that will contain trailers of upcoming anime series. why go to many threads to check out if a new trailer of the upcoming anime series has been posted... or if you want to check out the same trailer, why go through the trouble to look where the link to that trailer was posted on. One post containing the links to trailers of upcoming anime should make it easier for everyone. A "Trailers of Upcoming Anime" post :) the post will be updated constantly just like the "upcoming anime list (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=1591735&postcount=2)" post.
Anyway, I'll have to ask an admin about this :)
Ok, thanks to NoSanninWa the "Trailers of Upcoming Anime (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=2106375&postcount=3)" post has been added :) the post is under the "upcoming anime list (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=1591735&postcount=2)" post.
The post is empty for now, but from now on any new trailer will be added to that post.
Edit:
Ahh, of course new trailers will be posted about here too...

I gave up this show despite of Touhou being my favs after watching the promo.
MY REIMU TURNS INTO A FREAK oy-z
I wish a proper animation studio could take this title and turn it into an anime...but you know...ZUN ain't gonna let that happen so easily :(
There are rumors of a Touhou TV anime series in 2010 authorized by ZUN, scheduled for 24-26 episodes (2 cours), animated by JC STAFF, etc.
It could be fake information. For now, take it with a grain of salt.
If true, however, then it does seem to make sense for Tanaka Rie to announce on her blog her role as Izayoi Sakuya in a doujin anime.

Considering this (http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2008/12/15/touhou-creator-zun-to-masses-no-touhou-for-you/), I kind of doubt it.

Unless he got paid lots of money. :D
Sankaku is famous for interpretable borderline news...Zepy's translation is far more accurate in term of copyright handling :
http://zepy.momotato.com/2008/12/15/zun-on-touhou-and-derivative-works/#more-2638
And guess what? In the replies, Sankaku's news writer is trying to start a flame. Well we now have 2 interpretations of ZUN's blog entry about copyright case, it's up to you to judge folk, but I think he just want to not be involved too much in copyright management, which is a pita with all the doujin masses around.
And the 1st animated episode is due to C75, so supposed to be released at 29/12

I'm with ZUN on this boat.
I don't want to repeat one thing over and over, so I'll borrow this post (which is better than mine in term of wording):
Obscurity lets ZUN maintain the “soft control” over his characters he’s exerted all these years- he’s never had to tell someone “you can’t do that with those characters” and shut down a work of love. A big project, however, could force his hand.
For example, what if the anime killed off a character? You could just shrug and say “it’s a doujin”, but it rings a bit hollow with an big-name cast and years of effort. People getting into the scene from the anime would have a slanted view of the series, which (in significant numbers) would create pressure on ZUN to accept the anime as canon. If the anime is successful- and it probably will be- what if people start talking about a series? Things could get ugly fast.
In short, this could force ZUN to start approving and disapproving of how characters are used- something he’s never done before and probably never wants to do. By saying this now, he’s trying to maintain the status quo- but Touhou’s rising popularity is probably going to change things sooner or later.

K-on is going to be animated by Kyoto-animation?
(The character design is by Yukiko Horiguchi, the same person that did Lucky Star)Well, unless the article also provides other information to support that, at this point I would just suspect that she's doing the designs on contract. Character designers will often work on shows for various companies; a lot of them are contract artists to begin with, even if they often do work for a given studio.
After a little digging, found this:
『けいおん!』
原作:かきふらい(「まんがタイムきらら」連載)
制作:京都アニメーション
監督:山田尚子
キャラクターデザイン:堀口悠紀子
Don't know if legit, but I don't have a lot of doubt since 2ch is already discussing about Kyo-ani being involved.
Check that poster's history, but it's probably not. The rule of thumb is that if there's a secondary source to back it up (image, website), it's legit.

Horiguchi is supposedly employed by Kyoto Animation, unless she's recently left to work independently (or has permission to work with outside contractors).
It's interesting that their directors and leading animators tend to be employees, which might suggest some difference in corporate culture.

I actually like the idea of more 4-komas being turned into anime. They are not really laugh-out-loud-funny (with a few exceptions, of course), but they always try to give you a heart-warming and fuzzy feeling. And yes, I'm actually looking forward to these adaptations (now, if they mind to release more information together with the announcement... :heh:)
K-on! seems to be set for Spring 2009, though I can't really confirm this, myself (there are some changes to the website (http://www.tbs.co.jp/anime/k-on/) and the addition of a blog (http://www.tbs.co.jp/anime/k-on/blog/blog.html)).

Read that article more carefully, it's saying that a preview episode "Act 0" shall ship on a DVD in April. It says nothing about the second season airing in April.
It was apparently posted in Dengeki Maoh March issue on page 322. Dengeki Bunko bootleg confirms (http://dengekibunko.dengeki.com/i/tokuhou.html) what ANN posted. I must note that the way it's articulated, it sounds as if vol.0 is part of the second season.

facepalmWhy facepalm? He's right -- read the article more closely.
Since the DVD is advertised as shipping "right before the second season," the second television season will not start before April. So, if it's right before the second season, and this ships on April 30th, then we can speculate that the second season will probably air this summer (July). If the second season actually started in April, this DVD clearly wouldn't ship right before it.
In any event, the true takeaway here is that it's "coming soon", but probably not April.

I've checked out the manga raws for this series and it's somewhat like Scryed but not a complete ripoff. For one thing the main characters are quite crazy in a very funny odd way... you'll see what I mean when you see the series. There's also lots of comedy even when there's deaths of characters or when their killing their opponents so it's a bit of a dark comedy. It's quite gory at times too you even see guts of the enemies near berserk level I see this being tone down in the anime. I'll be interested in seeing the anime I found the manga to be very fun, fast pace and very funny as well.

It was announced last year that it'd be getting another anime series, but the anime has been off air for a number of years now. Toyline and manga, from my understanding, were still being produced though, so it didn't exactly die.

First volume dated for this summer and will be covering Magic World arc. Total of four volumes will be released. Production staffs are the same as previous Negima!: Ala Alba. If this OAD project success, Negima! Movie will be next.
Very good news, as for me the Ala Alba stuff is by far the best anime adaptation of the manga material. In fact, it's not even remotely close. If these new volumes are in the same weight class, we should be in very good shape.

I can't find any newer updates concerning this anime (no staff/cast info announced yet). There's only the Spring 2009 broadcast start date...
This means that there's a high possibility of it not airing, right? Or is this normal?

Nah, many anime get announced without staff/cast info being announced (they will be announced later), its pretty normal.

When I checked earlier today, there hadn't been any info yet about when it will be telecasted in Japan and South Korea.
A few weeks ago, I recall reading somewhere that back then that at least 17 episodes of Slap Up Party -Arad Senki- had been recorded by the Japanese cast listed below:
Baron: Kondou Takashi
Ryunmei: Nogawa Sakura
Capensis (Kapenshisu): Suzumura Ken'ichi
Ixia: Tsuji Ayumi
Jeda: Kuroda Takaya
Irbek: Okiayu Ryoutarou
Hilia (Hiria): Tanaka Rie
Halsen (Harusen): Iwata Mitsuo
Roxy: Watanabe Akeno
Weri/Welly/Wellie: Tsubuyaki Shiro-
Don't quote me on the following as I'm doing this strictly from a fuzzy memory, but I think that Baron and Ixia first appear in Episode 1, Ryunmei first appears in Episode 2, Capenshis first appears in Episode 3, and Irbek and Hilia first appear in Episode 5.
Baron, Ryunmei, Capensis, Ixia, and Roxy seem to make up our merry band of heroes. Irbek seems to be the Baron's nemesis and a villain in the show. Hilia seems to be a princess and a great fighter who's madly in love with Irbek...
Is Hilia another one of those crazy if not evil Tanaka Rie characters in anime who are obsessed with someone or something? Suigintou's obsession with "Father" in Rozen Maiden. Tomoe Marguerite's obsession with Shizuru Viola in My-Otome. Koigakubo Yuri's obsession with getting married in Toradora! Liang Qi's adoration of Alphard (is it an obsession?) in the upcoming CANAAN.

Cooking Idol Anime Announced
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Japanese Anican Staff Blog reports (http://ameblo.jp/anican-staffblog/entry-10213961697.html) on the voice acting recording of the freshly announced children’s anime television series Cookin’ Idol Ai! Mai! Main! (pronounced “Cookin’ Idol I! My! Mine!”). Similar to last year’s Moegaku 5 television series that combined educational live action and anime segments, the ten minute long Cookin’ Idol episodes will consist of an anime segment in which young girl Main teaches cooking and a live action segment in which Main’s voice actress, Haruka Fukuhara, attempts to cook the same dish featured in the anime segment.
The series will premiere on the NHK Educational network on March 30. Anime production studio NAS (http://www.nasinc.co.jp/) will produce the animation with Hiroshi Watanabe (Slayers, Orphen) directing and veteran character designer Atsuko Nakajima serving as animation director.

Its called D.Gray-man Over. I never bothered to look it up, but I've definitely heard of it. Whether it made it past rumor stage is a different question, though.
Edit: I doubt it even has a schedule yet though. Since the plan was to wait until the manga was sufficiently ahead enough to start again. There's no way that would happen in just a few months.

Well more rumors (for now)... but they are great :D one seinen(young men's) manga that has yuri in it might get an anime adaptation and one shounen(boy's) light novel series that has a catgirl might get an anime adaptation :D
The seinen(young men's) manga Sasameki Koto (ささめきこと) by Ikeda Takashi might be getting an anime adaptation. The manga is serialized in the seinen manga magazine Comic Alive (http://www.comipedia.com/magazine/comic-alive) (the same magazine that serializes the seinen manga Maria†Holic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Holic)).
The shounen(boy's) light novel series Asobi ni Ikuyo! (あそびにいくヨ!) by Kamino Okina (author) and Houden Eizou (illustrator) might be getting an anime adaptation. The light novel series is published under the shounen light novel label MF Bunko J (http://www.comipedia.com/light-novel-label/mf-bunko-j). (a manga adaptation of it is serialized in the seinen manga magazine Comic Alive (http://www.comipedia.com/magazine/comic-alive)).

If they combined both to create a catgirl yuri manga or light novel, I would be the happiest :D :heh:
Anyway, until they are officially confirmed to be be getting animated, consider both to be rumors...
more yuri would indeed make me very happy... :3
I remember reading the first chapter of Sasameki Koto... I think, or maybe not... oh never mind, this memory of mine doesn't work anymore... it seems that only the first volume and the first chapter of the second one have been so far scanlated. Otherwise, manga is still ongoing. oh well, I have something to do for now... :heh:

Omamori Himari is 28 chapters. Even if the anime didn't come out until around Spring of 2010, it would only be something like twice that. Would it really be wise to start an anime adaptation with so little in the way of source material?
...Then again, they may just be looking for another 26 episode space filler....
