Gonzo announced today at the Gonzo Festa that they will make the official announcement of the anime Druaga no Tou (Tower of Druaga) in September, so it will likely be launched in Winter 2008. No teasers were available, suggesting it is still in its preliminary stages.
Wonder if the main character gets killed loses all his items and has to start from scratch a couple times. I hate that game so much. Even in Tales of Destiny the bonus dungeon of it was a pain in the ass.
Also a lot of things turn into mecha after a certain point. Idolm@ster Xenoglossia and that Kimi Go Nozumu Eien OVA are examples. It's just getting a bit out of hand this year. This is the mecha revival year keep in mind with a lot of things taking backseat.
Yes the second season anime announcement of Shakugan no SHANA is still mentioned on the official anime site (http://www.shakugan.com/).
No more of this april fools, a second season is really coming :D

Lol, I should've waited a day to verify it:p My apologies indeed.
Maybe the joke will start a petition for an anime, although the probablity that it'll be countered with an reprisal is greater.
I like the Shana II news.

Its a gambling type of manga >.<
More info: It'll be aired on NTV :)
Also note that if you loved the Mahjongg anime masterpiece 'Akagi' please do check out Kaiji! It's from the same author not to mention that it's damn interesting. My prediction is that it'll be the most unique anime of the fall season(not to mention the artwork:p ). If you had hard time understanding Akagi because of the Mahjongg rules, don't worry about Kaiji.. the gamblings here consists of original games the author created, no Mahjongg!...well at least not until Datenroku. I think only the Apocalypse(Mokushiroku) part will be made, though. My wish is they should at least make it up to the Hakairoku part.
For your interest, the gambling names that are featured in the Apocalypse part is(I'll ramble more once I can get specific info and when a thread is formed..):
Limited Rock Paper Scissors,Brave Men's Road, and E-card.
Get any clue of how those work? If curious, please watch the anime when it airs :D ! I just hope the anime version will be good as the manga.. and that it'll be fansubbed. Uh...Triad? (puppy eyes)

ANS Exclusive First Look: New Mahou Shoujo Tai Alice Animation
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Continuing the "excavation" of our loot pile from the Tokyo International Film Festival 2007, we uncovered an image containing news of yet another new animation decision announcement that has seemingly escaped wider acknowledgement. Tucked away in the corner of a B&W promotional flyer for TOHOKUSHINSHA FILM CORPORATION (http://www.tfc-anime.net/) is a block mentioning a new Mahou Shoujo Tai Alice (http://www.tweeny-witches.com/) anime is forthcoming in 2007 from original creator Amemiya Keita (Iria / Zeiram) and STUDIO 4C. The duo came together in 2004 / 2005 to produce the original 40 episode "tweeny witch" TV series of the same name. In an extremely odd twist for television production there, the voice cast laid down their vocal tracks prior to the actual animation completion. The new extra chapter work is being tentatively titled "THE ADVENTURE". Scheduled for six episodes, the storyline will differ from the serious nature of the TV seires, presenting more laid back comical elements and a look at the daily life of the main characters. Amemiya-san first hinted at a sequel series in the summer of 2005 attaching a scheduled March, 2007 debut to it. Character designer Daisuke Nakayama mentioned on his blog in November, 2006 that a 2 year production period had wrapped and agreements were being negotiated for Japanese TV broadcast at that time. Release schedule remains unknown as of this writing.
New Anime Projects From Dynamo Pictures
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At this year's Tokyo Anime Fair, Dynamo Pictures (http://www.dynapix.jp/) shared an exhibition space with Madhouse. In the past the company helped develop the theme park attraction Biohazard: 4D Executer (http://www.biohazard.gr.jp/4dhorror/). They also have extensive experience in motion capture and have done 3DCG work on the Tesujin 28 live action movie, Tecmo's Dead Or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball for X-BOX and Ninja Gaiden. For 2007 they were promoing for a new live action / CG street racing film titled Speed Master (http://www.speedmaster-movie.jp/) and 2 surefire anime projects that will mark their first proper foray into the entertainment medium. These are Haruka Naru Heki Koku No Horushiido and the tentatively titled Oni No Kusari. For Haruka Naru Heki Koku No Horushiido little data exists, there was simply an illustrated poster board present on exhibition. Oni No Kusari is considerably more advanced, an TV anime series and manga are planned and MAKA MAKA mangaka Kishi Torajiro has signed on to do the original character designs.

Though I don't remember how many times the english and japanese wikis provided me with wrong info.IMO, the japanese wikipedia is still far more reliable for names than any one of those automatic transliterator sites/programs. In any case, the title of the new Zero no Tsukaima season has already been discussed in Zero no Tsukaima's subforum. We settled on Futatsuki no Kishi due to the following post:
I just flipped through the June issue of Dengeki G's, and the title for the second season was written as "Futatsuki no Kishi",

From Anime News Service (http://www.animenewsservice.com/):
Macross Director To Animate Life Of Hatta Yoichi
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Macross and Space Battleship Yamato Director Noboru Ishiguro (http://www.artland.co.jp/) will helm production on a new anime film portraying the life of 20th century engineer Hatta Yoichi (1886-1942). The man is known for modernizing the agricultural water supply of Taiwan during the Japanese imperial occupation (1895-1945). Hatta was active in Taiwan from the Taishou era through the beginning of the Showa era. Among his great accomplishments are the construction of the Chianan Irrigation Waterworks and the Karasuyama Dam. Mushi Productions (http://www.mushi-pro.co.jp/) president Ito made the announcement at a memorial festival commemorating the 65th anniversary since the engineer's death held at the Karasuyama Dam on Wednesday. Around 40 Japanese attended. The tentative title of the work will be "Paaten Rai (Hatta Ga Yatteki Ta)!" (Hatta Came!), production budget will be 150 million yen. Ishiguro-san is already developing the scenario. The story will center on a Taiwanese boy who was born to a poor farmer and becomes a hero as an assistant to Hatta. Theatrical opening in Beijing, China and Taipei, Taiwan are planned next summer. Ito said they are quite eager to tell the story of Hatta who loved Taiwan, and is also loved by the Taiwanese people for his selfless dedication to improving society through his agricultural irrigational projects. Hata hailed from Ishikawa Prefecture, Kanazawa city. He graduated from the Tokyo Imperial University Department of Engineering Works in 1910 and first found employment as an assistant engineer of the Taiwanese governor-general prefectural home affairs bureau Civil Engineering Division. He bagan construction of his first major project at age 28. In 1918 he began working on the Karasuyama dam and resevoir which took 10 years and 54 million yen to complete. The dam helped to greatly transform a draught ridden area. The construction is maintained as a park presently and you can see a memorial and bronze statue dedicated to Hatta there. He was killed when a ship he was on was sunk by a United States submarine in the vicinity of the Goto islands in May, 1942. His wife followed him shortly thereafter, jumping from the damn to her death on September 1st, 1945, following hearing the news of Japan's defeat. Hatta's achievements today are evaluated highly (espcially among the elderly), moreso in Taiwan than Japan. They are also still taught in Taiwanese junior high textbooks.

Rozen Maiden: Ouverture - Anime - Fansub TV (http://anime.fansub.tv/series.php/932/Rozen%20Maiden:%20Ouverture/)
Rie Tanaka has a knack for delivering memorable lines spoken by characters she plays, such as Chii's (Chi's) cute, adorable "pantsu pantsu" ("panties panties") in episode 4 of Chobits, Koyomi (Yomi) Mizuhara's tough, aggressive "Double chop!" in episode 4 of Azumanga Daioh, and Eriko Futami's sweet, gentle "I love you, darling" in the KimiKiss love simulation game.
Rie Tanaka excels at spewing invective, mockery, condenscension, anger, and hatred: 1) Bianchi's "Poison Cooking!" in Katekyo Hitman REBORN!"; 2) Tomoe Marguerite's "gomikuzu" ("trash") in episode 15 of My-Otome; 3) Tomoe Marguerite's "Matte!!!" ("Wait!!!") in episode 25 of My-Otome; 4) Suigintou's "Nyuusankin totteru(u)?" ("Are you taking your lactic acid bacteria?") in episode 8 of Rozen Maiden; 5) Suigintou's "Shinku!!" in episode 2 of Rozen Maiden Ouvertüre; 6) Suigintou's "Junk ni shite ageru(wa)!!" ("I'll turn you into junk!!") in Rozen Maiden overall; and so on.
No voice actress plays mean, spiteful bitches (e.g., Isabella in Soukou no Strain) and evil, if not crazy, villains (e.g., Morganna Mode Gone in .hack//SIGN, Suigintou in Rozen Maiden, Tomoe Marguerite in My-Otome) better than Rie Tanaka.
This is the same Rie Tanaka who voices such sweet, kind, gentle characters like Maria in Hayate no Gotoku! (Hayate the Combat Butler), Mariel in Hanaukyou Maid-tai (Hanaukyo Maid Team), Mary in Soukou no Strain, Hikari Kujou (Shiny Luminous) in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, Ren Mikihara in Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, and Lacus Clyne in Gundam SEED / Gundam SEED DESTINY.
(Well, some people - inside and outside Japan - think that the last character is really evil.)
Among anime fans in Japan and elsewhere, Rie Tanaka has become inextricably linked with Suigintou's famous trademark lines, "Nyuusankin totteru(u)?" ("Are you taking lactic acid bacteria?") and "Junk ni shite ageru(wa)!!" ("I'll turn you into junk!!").
For example, because of Rie Tanaka's delivery of the line "Nyuusankin totteruu?" ("Are you taking your lactic acid bacteria?") as Suigintou in episode 8 of Rozen Maiden back in late 2004 - a line which Japanese fans say originated in the anime, not in the manga - Japanese (and non-Japanese) fans now commonly associate Suigintou with Yakult, a popular Japanese drink containing lactic acid bacilli (bacteria) reputed to have health benefits.
A couple of weeks ago in an anime character thread for Maria from Hayate no Gotoku! (Hayate the Combat Butler) at Japan's 2ch forums, or message boards - probably the largest in the world - a Japanese poster wished Rie Tanaka's sweet, kind, gentle Maria would shout, "Junk ni shite ageruwa!!" ("I'll turn you into junk!!").
Going by hundreds - if not thousands - of posts at Japanese forums and message boards the past two and a half years, a lot of Japanese fans wish Maria and other Rie Tanaka characters would yell, "Junk ni shite ageruwa!!" (http://p2.chbox.jp/read.php?url=http://anime2.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/anichara2/1181178578/288)
<<Animation DVD Sales Rankings and Figures in Japan>> (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=475533)
Japanese fans can obtain sales rankings and scanned sales figures of DVDs from Oricon, Japan's counterpart of the US's Nielsen, through various channels, such as websites (e.g., ORICON STYLE (http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/), goo (http://anime.goo.ne.jp/ranking/dvd/weekly.html)), ORICON STYLE magazine, maybe once in a while a magazine like Animedia ... and Japan's huge 2ch (http://www.2ch.net/) forums, probably the world's largest.
One or more reliable sources at 2ch regularly or semi-regularly post sales rankings and sales numbers of animation DVDs, Japanese and non-Japanese, based on data from Oricon.
A reliable source who posts daily on animation DVD sales threads at 2ch, on more than one occasion, has described in detail how and where he (I am assuming that it is a he) obtains his facts and figures concerning scanned DVD sales from Oricon. Others are free to verify his usually very thorough information. He mentioned, among other things, subscribing to one or more services from Oricon. He is considered a "god" of animation DVD sales information by fellow 2ch posters, who ruthlessly root out fakes who post phony information, a common occurrence on 2ch's anonymous message boards.
Big Japanese companies like NAMCO BANDAI Holdings Inc. (http://www.bandainamco.co.jp/) and TOEI ANIMATION CO., LTD (http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/) publish annual character sales figures and annual copyright income sales figures, respectively, on their official websites.
I have posted links to, and scans of, Namco Bandai character sales figures and Toei Animation copyright income sales figures in numerous posts on other English language forums. Due to ANN policy, I cannot post links to many of these posts. But you can still search for them on Google, etc.

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny was the only television animation series to have single DVDs crack the list of the top 100 bestselling DVDs in Japan during 2006.
The regular edition of Howl's Moving Castle (Howl no Ugoku Shiro) sold something like nearly 800,000 copies during its first two weeks of release in Japan back during late 2005, which do not count in DVD sales figures in Japan during 2006. According to the ORICON STYLE website, (http://www.oricon.co.jp/news/ranking/2762/) the regular edition of Howl's Moving Castle sold 708,000 copies alone during its first week of release in Japan.

PROLIFIC JAPANESE VOICE ACTRESS TO ATTEND THE NEW YORK ANIME FESTIVAL AS A GUEST OF HONOR
Norwalk, CT, July 17, 2008: The New York Anime Festival (NYAF) today announced famous Japanese voice actress Rie Tanaka will appear at its 2008 event as a Guest of Honor. Ms. Tanaka is most known around the globe for voicing Lacus Clyne in the anime series Gundam Seed, Chii in Chobits, and Suigintou in Rozen Maiden. The New York Anime Festival, an anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture convention from the creators of New York Comic Con, takes place September 26th through the 28th at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.
"We're excited to welcome Ms. Tanaka into or show," NYAF Show Manager Lance Fensterman said. "She's given voice to some of the most popular and enduring anime characters in recent years, and we know she has an eager fanbase wanting to meet her in America."
While Ms. Tanaka is most known for her roles in Gundam Seed, Chobits, and Rozen Maiden, she has contributed her voice to characters in over 50 animations, with some standouts including Simca in Air Gear, Yomi in Azumanga Daioh, Sei in Burst Angel, Hiroko Matsukata in Hataraki Man, Monica Lange in Macross Frontier, Tomoe Marguerite in My-Otome, Saki in Steel Angel Kurumi, and Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke in Strike Witches. In addition, Ms. Tanaka is also the voice behind songs featured in many of the series she's worked on including Azumanga Daioh, Burst Angel, Chobits, and Gundam Seed.

So it's going to happen eh, this has potential.
Please, no new live action shows to be mentioned in this thread. There's already a thread for it here (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=32633) (though I don't bother that much with it anymore).
The seinen manga NEEDLESS (http://ultra.shueisha.co.jp/UJ126/UJ126_needless.html) (serialized in the seinen manga magazine Ultra Jump (http://comipedia.com/magazine/ultra-jump)) will be getting a Drama CD (http://ultra.shueisha.co.jp/00_HP2/hot_news/hot_main.htm#Anchor1163787).
Release date: September 14, 2007

From now on you can also mention manga and novel/light novel adaptations of anime.
Though I say manga/light novel "adaptations" of anime, but the manga/light novels might not follow the anime at all, they might have a very different story from the anime. either way you can mention the manga/light novels in this thread (be it follows the anime or not).
Some examples:
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann will be getting a shounen manga in Dengeki Comic Gao! magazine.
Romeo×Juliet got a shoujo manga in Asuka magazine.
DARKER THAN BLACK will be getting a shoujo manga in Asuka magazine.
Ahh but please don't mention manga adaptaions of light novels or light novels adptations of manga :eyespin:
This is the last thing that will be added to this thread. (hopefully :P LOL)
Main purpose of this thread:
New announced anime
Other stuff (secondary stuff):
New trailers
New drama CDs
Manga and novel/light novel adaptations of anime

Synopsis
Hinamori Amu is a fourth grader who because of her stubborn demeanor, is misunderstood by her school friends and family. One night, upon watching the psychic Saeki Nobuko advocate on TV about one's guardian spirit being a powerful existence that will help you out, Amu wished for the courage to change into the person she wanted to become. The following morning, three checkered eggs laid on her bedside, from which three girls, Ran, Miki, and Sue appeared, calling themselves the Shugo Chara.

First ZOMBIE-LOAN and now Shugo Chara!? PEACH-PIT must be having a field day these days. Now if only a new Rozen Maiden sequel were in the works...
Being a Nakayoshi title, this will most likely replace the Kamichama Karin time slot.

Starchild has opened a site for the anime:

Based on a manga thats serialized in the seinen manga magazine Young Magazine (http://comipedia.com/magazine/young-magazine).

From Manganews (http://manganews.net/seriesinfo.php?id=2501):
In the Minami house there are three sisters: Haruka, Kana, and Chiaki. Each sister cannot be more different from the others. Haruka is both industrious and motherly, perfect traits for the eldest girl and therefore head of the household. Kana is spunky and deeply naive (alright, stupid). Chiaki is cool but capable of tenderness, especially toward the much-admired Haruka.
Unlike most other manga series, Minami-ke does not depend on outlandish situations or characters to evince humor. Instead, hilarity arises from the sisters' interaction with their peers at school and each other at home. Sometimes touching, sometimes slightly naughty, but always funny, Minami-ke is one manga that should not be missed.
Mangaka: Sakuraba Koharu
Genre: Seinen, Comedy
==========
Sakuraba Koharu is also the mangaka of the seinen manga Kyo no Gononi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyo_no_Gononi) (which also got animated).

Huh.:D:D:D:D It can't be, thy precious has returned to me after so long. So many feelings rushing through me, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to check it out. All I can say is Sunrise seems really busy this year. They have to finish up Code Geass, they are working on iDOLM@STER Xenoglossia and now they have a Gundam series to do as well. Hopefully all goes well with this new one. A fresh start is definetely needed outside of Cosmic Era and I was gunning for a new AU for a while now (even had dreams about it). I'm glad to see some of the characters look determined instead of angsty and wishy washy as well. I'm marking October on my Calendar as the mecha revival is now fully complete with more Gundam on the way.

Serialized in the seinen magazine Young Gangan, Sekirei is an ecchi manga aimed at young men by Gokurakuin Sakurako, a female manga artist and illustrator better known for her BL (boy's love) / yaoi works (professional and doujin).
Synopsis: Sekirei stars a guy named Minato, a typical Keitaro-grade loser. He's failed college examinations twice. His life changes, however, when he meets Musubi. Unknown to him at the time, Musubi is a Sekirei, a cyborg designed to fight other cyborgs, usually resulting in ecchi situations (ie, ripped clothes.)

Suigintou Has Her Own Radio Show (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=LHCA-5069)
Rozen Maiden's popular, black winged antagonist and once-upon-a-time, otherworldly evil villain queen, Suigintou has a radio show called Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i (Suigintou's It's Ennui Again, Tonight~). Fans write in to tell Suigintou their problem so she can solve it for them, or to try to persuade her to accept them as her medium.
This being Suigintou, however, she gives no helpful advice, refuses all requests, and puts people down in her unique, condescending manner.
Hilarious.
Not only does the Japanese voice actress (seiyuu) who plays Suigintou in the Rozen Maiden, Rozen Maiden Traumend and Rozen Maiden Ouverture animation (anime) series reprise her great voice acting role as Suigintou on the Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i radio show, Rie Tanaka (Hiroko Matsukata in Hataraki-Man; Lacus Clyne, Meer Campbell in Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny; Chii {Chi} in Chobits, etc.) also plays the woman voiceover artist and the singing girl in the commercials.
And once again, Rie Tanaka memorably delivers Suigintou's famous lines, "Nyuusankin totteruu?" ("Are you taking your lactic acid bacteria?") and "Junk ni shite ageruwa!" ("I'll turn you into junk!").
The success of the first Suigintou no Koyoi (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=LHCA-5069) mo Ennu~i CD (http://www.amazon.com/Rozen-Maiden-Ouverture-Suigintou-Konya/dp/B000N3SWJK/) has spawned a second Suigintou no Koyoi (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=LHCA-5073) mo Ennu~i CD (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Q366W2/), slated to be released in Japan on June 27, 2007.

Drama CD original character Narashino , who talks in Kansai-ben (Kansai dialect) - among other things, she uses the honorific suffix "-han" instead of "-san" - is not listed as one of the choices in the poll.
Since the release of the Sekirei drama CD (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=FCCC-66) on July 25, 2007, #1 Tsukiumi ([s]273 votes 302 votes) has widened her lead over #2 Matsu (223 votes), followed by #3 Musubi (110 votes).
(At one point earlier this year, I seem to recall, Tsukiumi had between 255 and 260 votes, while Matsu had between 221 and 223 votes.)
Tsukiumi in the Sekirei drama CD reminds me of Suigintou in Rozen Maiden, Tomoe Marguerite in My-Otome, and Isabella in Soukou no Strain. In addition to all of them being voiced by Tanaka Rie, they all intensely dislike the main heroine in the story - Suigintou hates Shinku, Tomoe hates Arika, Isabella hates Sara, and Tsukiumi (sorta) hates Musubi.
While Suigintou and Tomoe suppress their anger most of the time, Tsukiumi has an extremely short temper and often explodes in fits of rage, yelling and screaming in the unique trademark fashion of Tanaka Rie.
Unlike the evil, crazy, psychopathic villain Tomoe, or the sad, pitiful, one-time villain Suigintou, or the mean, nasty, spiteful bitch Isabella, however, the seemingly always angry Tsukiumi acts tough, but (as someone else elsewhere has noted) is really just an innocent girl wanting to be loved.
In the Sunday, September 30, 2007 (http://www.tanaka-rie.com/diary_7/?20070930) entry on her blog, Tanaka Rie indicates that she has landed a lot of regular roles in anime and will announce them later.
Will Tsukiumi in a Sekirei anime series be one of them?

I was wondering why I couldn't find any character pictures and statistics on the site, but then it hit me TRPG= Tabletop Role Playing Game. I wonder how this will work without anything beyond paper and possibly a rulebook to go on.
There are demons of King Solomon appeared as cute girls in the setting.

The story will take place in 2307 AD of our modern calendar system—which is different from the fictional Universal Century calendar of the first Mobile Suit Gundam series, the Cosmic Era calendar of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, and the four other previously used calendar systems. It will be the first time a Gundam animated project officially takes place in our modern calendar system. (There were two apparent uses of AD dates in the first Mobile Suit Gundam series and Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam series, but both dates were edited out of the later movie compilations of those series.)

It appears that the KimiKiss anime retains the same cast, at least in part, from the KimiKiss game.
One year ago in my Otome Kiss (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=576194) thread in the My HiME / My Otome forum, I posted the KimiKiss game cast.
Japanese fans have mentioned that several voice actors from My-Otome / Mai-Otome have gone out to the gal game, Kimi Kiss, (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Kimi+Kiss) released in Japan on May 25, 2006.
Hoshino Yuumi (http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/game_site/kimikiss/character/index.html) CV: Koshimizu Ami (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Koshimizu+Ami) = Nina Wang
Satonaka Narumi (http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/game_site/kimikiss/character/index2.html) CV: Mizuhashi Kaori (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Mizuhashi+Kaori)
Mizusawa Mao (http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/game_site/kimikiss/character/index3.html) CV: Ikezawa Haruna (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Ikezawa+Haruna)
Sakino Asuka (http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/game_site/kimikiss/character/index4.html) CV: Hirohashi Ryou (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Hirohashi+Ryou)
Futami Eriko (http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/game_site/kimikiss/character/index5.html) CV: Tanaka Rie (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Tanaka+Rie) = Tomoe Marguerite, Fiar Grosse
Shijyo Mituki (Shijou Mitsuki) (http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/game_site/kimikiss/character/index6.html) CV: Noto Mamiko (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Noto+Mamiko) = Yukino Chrysant
Nana (http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/game_site/kimikiss/character/index7.html) CV: Nogawa Sakura (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Nogawa+Sakura) = Shiho Huit
Kawada Tomoko (http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/game_site/kimikiss/character/index8.html) CV: Kawasumi Ayako (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Kawasumi+Ayako)
Hiiragi Akira (http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/game_site/kimikiss/character/index9.html) CV: Fukuyama Jun (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Fukuyama+Jun)
According to Japanese fans at 2ch, (http://www.2ch.net/) Nakahara Mai, (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Nakahara+Mai) who plays Tokiha Mai, plays Kuryuu Megumi (http://game9.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/gal/1149438959/57) in Kimi Kiss.
Some Japanese fans have remarked that Futami Eriko (http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/game_site/kimikiss/character/images/character_5.jpg) resembles her voice actor, Tanaka Rie. (http://rie.bird.to/images/profile3.jpg)
But it also looks like that the other main characters in Kimi Kiss may be, to one extent or another, modeled after their voice actors (e.g., hairstyle).
Note: KimiKiss game character links no longer work. Nakahara Mai indeed voices Kuryuu Megumi in the game. Tanaka Rie has since grown out the bangs in her hair for a more grown-up look, fitting given her many recent mature woman roles in anime: Matsukata Hiroko in Hataraki-Man, Lula in RED GARDEN, Fila Marik in The Third ~Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo~ (The Third: The Girl with the Blue Eye), Bianchi/Bianki in Katekyo Hitman REBORN!, Ikeuchi Riyoko in MOONLIGHT MILE, etc.
Hoshino Yuumi speaks with a high, bright voice, sounding little like Nina Wang, Paraietta in Simoun and Kallen Stadfeld in Code Geass, and sounding more like Nadja Applefield in Ashita no Nadja (and Tsukamoto Tenma in School Rumble, for that matter) and other youthful sounding Koshimizu Ami characters.
When hearing Nana talk, rather than Shiho Huit, imagine Hinaichigo in Rozen Maiden saying "oniichan" all the time. (Nana is the younger sister of the male protaganist in KimiKiss ({voiceless Aihara Kouichi in the game}). Nana sounds like a Nogawa Sakura character.
As the polar opposite of the psycho evil bitch Tomoe Marguerite - and Suigintou in Rozen Maiden and Isabella in Soukou no Strain and Morganna in .hack//SIGN and the deep voiced, sexy lady assassin "Poison Scorpion" Bianchi in Kateko Hitman REBORN! - who spews venom in a loud, abusive voice, the seemingly always cool Futami Eriko speaks with a soft, whispery, gosammer voice... yet a Tanaka Rie character very different from Lacus Clyne in Gundam SEED, Kujou Hikari/Shiny Luminous in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, and Chii (Chi) in Chobits.
Shijou Mitsuki sounds like what Noto Mamiko characters (including Yukino Chrysant) usually do: like Noto Mamiko.

Lodoss OVA, Lodoss TV, Crystania and Rune Soldier are based on the Sword World TRPG system in the Forceria campaign setting, I believe.
Outside of anime, Heavy Gear and Battletech got their own animated series in the past.

That's what it looks like. They're probably going to cover the Tokyo arc alone, which is good, since it's the best arc of the series. The major relelation is revealed in this one. There's no way Bee Train could've done it justice.

could this new "Blue Drop" manga (serialized in the seinen magazine Champion RED) also contain yuri ???
Well, according to Yoshitomi's official webpage (http://homepage3.nifty.com/garigarikun/), it's a revival of the original manga. Soooo, it seems likely that it'll continue on rather like the original. Though the description doesn't seem to say much about girl-on-girl action and the picture has a girl and a boy.

Here's info about the original one volume manga BLUE DROP (was serialized in the shounen magazine Dengeki Comic Gao! (http://comipedia.com/magazine/dengeki-comic-gao)), from Lililicious (http://www.lililicious.net/projectDet.php?id=60) group:
A collection of sci-fi one-shots from the creator of Eat-Man, set in a world where people are still dealing with the repercussions of a war fought with aliens many years ago. We'll be scanlating all but the first one-shot in the collection.
A continuation of Blue Drop has just appeared. As we haven't read it yet, we don't know whether or not it's yuri.
In "Blue Drop ~Broken Angel~," an ordinary high school girl finds herself in extraordinary circumstances. Will she fall in love with her protector?
"Kaijin" focuses on a pair of girls whose relationship is threatened by jealousy, bitterness, and forces beyond either of their control.
Yui turns up again in "Blue Drop ~The Angel's Promise~," where she fights to keep a former schoolmate from being forced to sacrifice her life.
Genre: Shounen, Action, Yuri
One volume (Serialized in: Dengeki Comic Gao!)

The light novel series is published under the C★NOVELS Biblio label (which seems like a general label; not a shounen label, and not a shoujo label)
So the difference between Light Novel and Novel is that the Light Novel has manga style illustrations?
And oh how I love Kenji Tsuruta's artwork *__*
Rion, more or less. A "light novel" is simply an illustrated novel, as near as I can tell :)

Light novel is more like an illustrated short story. Usually very quick and short on plot.

Hero Tales (from Fullmetal Alchemist author; Hiromu Arakawa)
http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/4485/a80465gk8.jpg
The July issue of Shōnen Gangan Powered (on sale June 22) has confirmed that Jūshin Enbu: Hero Tales, the latest manga from Fullmetal Alchemist's Hiromu Arakawa, will be animated for television. The previous issue had advertised an "important announcement." The Chinese-mythology-inspired story revolves around a boy named Taitō, the prophesied seventh star of the Hokuto (the Big Dipper), who must journey with his sister and friend to recover a legendary sword. Shōnen Gangan Powered is a bimonthly spinoff of Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine, where Fullmetal Alchemist runs.

^I hate it when they don't say which animation studio is doing it. Might as well tell the mass who's doing the animation and who's directing it.
Well, it can't be helped. Anime News Network just brought up this article. Muchless that they only have the profile for the manga version.
Juushin Enbu is actually old news, I think; I remember reporting (http://www.animeonline.com/index.php?page=news_details&action=details&id=101513) on it back in May ^^;

Studio Flag is doing the animation, so sayeth Moon Phase (http://moonphase.cc/Html/anime.html).
Juushin Enbu is actually old news, I think; I remember reporting (http://www.animeonline.com/index.php?page=news_details&action=details&id=101513) on it back in May ^^;The anime version was only rumored at the time as a "big announcement regarding this manga title". In +95% of all cases, this means an upcoming anime version. Actually, I personally like to be uptight about this issue until a real confirmation is dropped, even though this is becoming more and more a fact of the industry.
BTW, glad to see you checking out this forum. ;)
Never say I don't listen when I'm spoken to ;)
Why are they animating a manga that doesn't even have 1 volume out
Anyway a site for the anime has opened: (nothing on it though)

More news on Jushin Enbu (Hero Tales) from ANN
The newly launched website for the Jyūshin Enbu: Hero Tales television anime series has announced the project's Fall 2007 premiere date, as well as its staff and cast. The first volume of Hiromu Arakawa's manga compilation has been scheduled for August 11, the same day as her Fullmetal Alchemist manga's volume 17.
Hero Tales' original story of mythological fantasy is credited to a Huan Jin-Zhou—an apparent pseudonym based on the Chinese characters for the "Golden Week" holidays. Osamu Sekita, the director of the Heavy Metal L-Gaim videos and a unit director on several Gundam series from the first one to Seed, will helm the project. In addition to drawing the manga, Hiromu Arakawa will be designing the characters that supervising animation director Naoki Sōsaka (Gundam Seed C.E. 73: Stargazer, Naruto) will adapt.
Video Girl Ai and Saber Marionette J's Mayori Sekijima will edit the scripts that Studio Flag (Naruto, Galaxy Angel) will animate. Tamiya Terashima is composing the music after having done the same for Key the Metal Idol and Tales from Earthsea.
Leading the cast as the hero Taitō will be Kenichi Suzumura, a prolific voice actor known for playing Rakushun in The Twelve Kingdoms and Hikaru in Ouran High School Host Club. Banjō Ginga (Gundam's Gihren Zabi, Metal Gear Solid games' Liquid Snake) will play the general Keirō. Acting as Taitō's friend and sparring partner Ryūkō is Takahiro Sakurai (Final Fantasy franchise's Cloud Strife, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion's Suzaku).
Media Factory will sell a limited volume 0 DVD, with a promotional video and a roundtable discussion with the main cast, at Animate stores in Japan and Tokyo's Comic Market 72 on August 17.
A 4th season MAJOR (http://www3.nhk.or.jp/anime/major/) anime is scheduled to start broadcast on January 2008.
The anime adaptation of the fantasy TRPG Night Wizard will be titled: Night Wizard -The ANIMATION-
Staff for Night Wizard -The ANIMATION-
Original Work: Kikuchi Takeshi & F.E.A.R.
Director: Yamamoto Yusuke
Character Original Concept: Ishida Hiroyuki

Massive increase in animation quality, but I can barely stand the song, I had to mute it. What ever happened to that unsettingling theme song to the original series that fit it's overall nature perfectly. When exactly did Higurashi turn into a Harem anime. Anyway please god don't them use this song by some act of providence, Higurashi was one of those rare series that had a theme song that actually fit its atmosphere, I don't want that to change despite market pressures to promote pop idols and CD Singles.

Does anyone know of any plans to ever do a full series of Yokohama Kaidashi Kiko? Have just discovered the manga of this (thanks to the folks at Cafe Alpha), and watching the 2002 OAV just whets the appetite for what a full season of 26 episodes could do with the series. I've been searching through this thread, but I've only seen mention of YKK in reference to other series...

The "Melancholy" arc of the novels was entirely used up within 2 DVDs, as those who buy the region 1s will know. So my answer to your question is "both".:D
eggplant, I hope you don't mind, I added those images in this news post (http://lightnovel.org/2007/07/05/suzumiya-haruhi-gets-a-second-anime-season/).
They appear to be from 2ch, so I think you're fine. (If I'm wrong - sorry, eggplant!)
Since I guess none of you can actually read Japanese, I'll have to tell what it says. From looking at it, the story of season 2 will begin with the tanibata events (when Haruhi wrote that stuff in the school court on the 7th of July), then to go into the book 4 story line (which will be godly). It also anounces a PS2 game where you are Kyon and have to create a video game (where Haruhi can be the hero if you want, as well as a new figure of that Haruhi with a sword, I might buy that), announces a Wii game by Kadokawa, and a PSP game with a story (with minigames). This is not fake, this is Newtype. And, Tsukasa doesn't know what Haruhi is.
edit: I'll also note I half expected them to call this season "Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu", but they kept it the same, it looks.

O.o
Well I do know how to read Japanese (as do a few many others here), so stop being stuck-up :P
But this is good news. Time to sell my remaining body parts to buy the R2 dvds.
Aquarion: The Movie [The Chapter on the Myth of the Orb of Genesis]
From ANN
Moon Phase reports that the movie edition of Genesis of Aquarion is scheduled to premiere this fall in Japan. The Sōsei Shinwa-Hen (The Chapter on the Myth of the Orb of Genesis) movie will be based upon the two videos, Uragiri no Tsubasa (Wings of Betrayal) and Taiyō no Tsubasa (Wings of the Sun), that were produced after the original mythological robot television series. The showing will also include a humorous theatrical short titled "Ippatsu Gyakuten-Hen" ("The Chapter on the Sudden Reversal of Fortune").

The trailer looks extremely good as usual just as it was for the Afro Samurai, but the dampener to the enthusiasm comes from those code-names where one of them is called the Bomb. Ok, she is a bomb, but I don't know if I'll be scared of any assassin who is code named Bomb that comes after me. "Hello, I'm Bomb and I've come to kill you." I think I'll die laughing before the assassin gets the pleasure of killing me. What would be the Japanese alternative to Bomb? Bakudan? The name still doesn't sound cool.
Anyway, looking forward to it even if the plot is nothing but an excuse to show some cool animated action.

There are currently two manga adaptations, the Nagasawa Tomo version serialized in the the monthly Margaret (now The Margaret) magazine, and the Hibiki Reina version sporadically published in the Cobalt magazine.
Two TV and one OVA series anime adaptation have been aired or released. It is unknow whether the 4th Season will be a TV series or an OVA.

Maria-sama ga Miteru 4th Season
The Japanese magazine Cobalt has announced that the Maria-sama ga Miteru 4th Season anime adaptation of its popular light novels has been greenlit. The story revolves around the student council of Lillian, an all-girls Catholic high school. An accompanying interview with voice actresses Kana Ueda (Yumi), Haruna Ikezawa (Yoshino), and Mamiko Noto (Shimako) indicates the creators' reluctance to say whether the fourth season will be televised (like the first two seasons) or released directly on video (like the third season).
Five Killers
Former G.D.H. International Vice-President of Creative Affairs Eric Calderon (Afro Samurai, Linkin Park's "Breaking the Habit" music video) posted on his personal website a pilot video for The Five Killers, a 12-episode animated television series under development at the animation studio Gonzo. Calderon's story features five killers being hunted down by an assassin and the tagline, "3 Die. 2 Survive. 1 Lives… Forever."
The project's staffers includes pilot director Tomohiro Hirata (Trinity Blood), writers George Krstic (Megas XLR co-creator, Star Wars Clone Wars writer) and Mark Waid (Kingdom Come, JLA, Voltron comics), and designer Shigeki Maeshima (Robot). Calderon made one of the first public mentions of this project in a tongue-in-cheek question to his former boss, Gonzo CEO Shin Ishikawa, during Anime Expo 2007's keynote panels.
A Starchild site (http://www.starchild.co.jp/special/ryofuko/) of an upcoming OVA called Ryofuko-chan is up. Hmm isn't Ryofuko a moe~ anime that the male protagonist(Souta) from Souta-kun no Akihabara Funtouki manga watches? at least thats what I remember from reading a review about it quite a long time ago >.<The manga Ryofuko got its own serialization, but it is an anime in Souta-kun no Akihabara Funtouki. I personally haven't read it, but the JP Wikipedia's entry certainly says so. I'll correct the post.
Hmm... there's still something unclear to me >.< (LOL)
So Ryofuko is the anime that the protagonist (Souta) watches. A spinoff manga of this anime-in-manga started in the April 2007 edition of the shounen magazine GFantasy thats titled: Magical Musou Tenshi Tsukisase!! Ryofuko-chan.
Whats unclear to me: is this 4 episode OVA based on the Ryofuko anime inside the manga Souta-kun no Akihabara Funtouki, or is it based on its spinoff manga Magical Musou Tenshi Tsukisase!! Ryofuko-chan ??? :eyespin:
Edit:
Also notable to mention that the mangaka of this spinoff manga is Suzuki Jirou (the same mangaka of Souta-kun no Akihabara Funtouki).
Most likely the formal basis of this OVA will be the anime Souta watches (as that's what Starchild's site mentions). Although I wouldn't be surprised if it took after the serialized manga. In any case, the serialized manga offers the most insight into the concept of the upcoming OVA at this moment.
I see, thanks :)
Hopefully people still remember that Souta-kun no Akihabara Funtouki manga is also getting animated :)
And now the Ryofuko anime that the protagonist of the manga Souta-kun no Akihabara Funtouki watches, is also getting animated :eyespin:
