The manga that got serialized in Morning is as mentioned from volume 10 and above.
So if I understood you right, there was no second version of Piano no Mori at all. It's always the same manga? That would be good... for instance, I always had the impression that there were several versions of Tokko.

Yes, there's only one Piano no Mori manga. Its just that the first 9 volumes (which got serialized in Young Magazine Uppers) got republished with new covers.
The manga started in Young Magazine Uppers and continued in Morning.

A new Ikkitousen anime, Ikkitousen2 so to say, has been announced.
You can already tell be looking at the official site that they tend to stick a lot more to the manga then the original series did. Also - the characters from the second part of the manga are all there.. so its hard to say if they'll be starting from the start of the series, carrying on where it left of.. or just retelling the story in a whole new way. Shall be good finding out~

Woa. Thanks for the info. I wouldnt mind a whole new and better remake (like Kanon2006/negima!? sort of). Recently there seem to be a lot remakes.
The Ikkitousen story was kinda cheezy and exxegareted heroic/sterioutype at times, while the setting of the story and the atmosphere were pretty good. It was like a anime show with great potential, but it was kinda messed up (even with the animation quality). It could have been another Tengou tenge, and while it might have been interesting and exiting at times, all in all it was rather disapointing.
Thats why I hope for a remake, just in case the manga is any better.
And i got shocking news.
I dont know why anime nation news and blogs are writing about the new Naruto anime coming out spring or early 2007, but as far as my crappy google translations are concerned, we might have to wait untill summer 2007 (which means ~July 1rst/2nd/3rd/4th, around that time). That would mean we still gotto bear with anouther ~30 crappy episodes.

I'm very happy for Unison-Shift now that Nanatsuiro★Drops is getting an anime. I finished the main heroine's path today (just 11 hours ago) and I have to say that this game was truly a wonderful experience. I really hope the anime goes along with Sumomo's path.
I'd be kind of disappointed if it went Nona's or Nadeshiko's way, especially when you know how long Sumomo has had a crush on Haru and how much courage she had to build up to approach him.I really hope for a surprise from Studio Barcelona, and as somebody already mentioned, yes, seiyuu need to stay the same. If they do a good job, they are surely getting my money. Unison-Shift's game was worth every yen of it.

Well, I don't know which series you are talking about, but this game is the sequel of 顔のない月 (Kao no Nai Tsuki, loosely translate to "faceless moon", and still looks better than most avg games in the market even after 6 years).
There is a h anime conversion for the first game, but seeing that this time the news is being posted on Avex, I am guessing the anime for the second game is not h.

Wow.. a Carnelian anime I'm looking forward to ... well, no wonder the production staffs are all there since Carnelian is the same studio which made Yami to Boushi.
And since Kao no Nai Tsuki has a quite decent storyline to boot other than the H contents, a non-H anime is very likely to be made to help promote the new game launch.
Higurashi Second Season? Hopefully they will cover the complete Onisarashi-hen and Yoigoshi-hen side stories rather than making a whole new plot or viewpoint.

Of note is text on the top of the page (reading "1st Season -Lift Off-") which perhaps points toward greater things to come in the future for this just announced series.
Moonlight Mile does look promising and sounds ambitious, but [Woland] mentioned the manga it's based on is not very good. I'll check it out though, especially as it's broadcast in HD *drools*

Yeah, it's due somewhere around December. Its listed on moonphase (http://www.moonphase.cc/Html/anime.html)'s list of upcoming anime. I hope he's got time to do a proper job on Nodame Cantabile. My biggest worry is J.C.'s animation... their digital imaging/composite department is great (especially in Honey and Clover, awesome effects) but their actual animation is quite cheap, most of the time :(

But Sushio!! Jesus CHrist and all the other $deities and $gods out there. I'm probably getting too excited over this but at this rate I can be guaranteed at least 3 episodes of Exciting Animation Stuff unless of course something gets majorly screwed up.
Just that... what is the story going to be about... I'm scared that with all these mecha things coming out I'm going to get oversaturated and sick of them even if they're decently done...
And a new brooding-looking BONES anime eh. I have a feeling it'll be aimed at girls. Okamura Tensai sure as hell is very lucky with his proposals; I heard Wolf's Rain flopped in Japan but here he is still going on strong...
I'm actually quite glad with the flood of mecha for next year. I sat through much of this year and last grinding my teeth at the endless conversions of mostly boring and trite dating sim games with a few decent exceptions, which weren't really dating sims at all. So its kind of my turn now as a fan of the 70s-90s period this is something of a revival for me. As long as they don't mess it up like they're doing with shows like Soukou No Strain and the genre doesn't head in that shows direction I'll be a really happy camper very soon. Also hopefully they still provide for other folks needs and this doesn't become an alternating thing. I'm honestly a bit worried that the anime market is going to start seesawing back and forth every year between old school hotblooded stuff and newer sentimental stuff. Everybody should get to win here.
Yeah, I know what you mean. There hasn't been many good mecha anime out lately, most of the ones that came out were, well not out very good. But you know what there are so many naimes like, same goes with movies, that basically nearly all original idea is gone. Basically they're a modified copy of the original or something. But eh who knows, I LOVE ANIME AND CAN'T WAIT FOR SOME NEW GOOD ONES TO COME OUT!!

I think the whole "Anime is getting boring lately because there were nothing but lame eroge conversions" is pretty exaggerated. In fact, in the last few years, I've seen many game conversions which were actually GOOD (Nanoha, Canvas 2, SHUFFLE, Air, Kanon 2006, Tokimeki Memorial).
I agree about the mecha shortage, but the only way you'll get annoyed by "too many dating sim/eroge conversions" is if you watch too many dating sim/eroge conversions. In my opinion, every season has had at least two must watch titles, which isn't too bad. You'll only suffer if you somehow have the time to watch anime all day and every day, but if you usually follow 3-4 series a season anyway, then there's plenty to watch unless you have VERY specific tastes.

Regarding Darker than BLACK, I got a look at the article in close detail. (Hey, I'm not putting my $15+ to waste...) As you can see in the website, interestingly the characters seem to be called by the Chinese pronounciation of their codenames. Hm.
The main character, 黒 (Hei (Black)) is some super top-class agent, at The Organisation (well, it's just called 'soshiki'...)
He's one of the best in this group of people with supernatural powers, called... "keiyakusha" (contractee? Don't forget the name of the show is Darker Than BLACK - Kuro no Keiyakusha... The Black Contractee?)
The scan describes him as a 他人に心を許さない孤独な男 - a solitary guy who won't allow others in his heart. Ah, is this the 10249th time I've heard of this?... And am I going to fall for it again? ._.
Currently he is posing as a timid Chinese university student called 李舜生 (Li Shun Sheng, if I am not wrong).
The seemingly lead female, 銀 (Yin (Silver)) is a support staff in Hei's team. She seems normal but she's got absolutely no emotions at all and is sometimes called "Doll". She's also blind, but her other senses have been honed to such a level that she can... instantaneously understand the physical situation around her for a radius of 50m (半径50m以内の状況を瞬時に把握する)
Then there's your customary oyaji, 黄 (Huang (Yellow)). He's the team's manager and supervisor, collates information and acts as the team's connection to The Organisation, but he is not a "keiyakusha". (Going by the site it seems that he's a bit jealous of them, too?) His age is unclear but it seems that he's younger than he looks. He's the type of guy who'll do anything for money.
And finally there's 黒猫 (just plain ol' Mao - the kanji should read "Hei Mao" which is black cat, but "mao" just means cat.). Hay guys, it's a cat who can talk and acts as the team's information gatherer... but that's becausehe used to be a man - and a "keiyakusha" to boot, but for the time being he's posessing a black cat and I think he's lost his original body (本来の肉体を失ってしまった). The parts of his mind that couldn't be supported by the cat's brain are stored on a LAN server where they're connected wirelessly to the brain...
Well at least that's interesting, I've always wondered at the back of my head how, in those serious stories where people change into animals, the human memory and thought processes and whatnot could possibly fit into and be carried out properly by an animal brain (or, why they don't have enlarged heads or something like that).
The show is billed as a 独自の世界観が光るスパイアクション (a spy action show featuring a characteristic worldview?). Seems like it's the director's pet project; he really just had the idea of doing a spy show set in Tokyo brewing in his head I think...
Except that it's not really Tokyo, because now there's a 10m wide, pitch-black dark space called "Hell's Gate", stuck right in the middle of it. It is impenetrable and is called an 異空間 so perhaps it's some sort of alternative dimension. And I ahve to go now so the rest might come later when I feel like it, but it's probably been posted on this forum anyway, by now...
But somehow it seems kind of uninspiring, to be honest. The character designs are, at least...

He arranged an original composition from the game called, "An Old Story That My Grandmother Heard ", into a vocal theme. Despite a broadcast starting time 30 minutes later than usual, episode 11 of Hataraki Man still drew a pretty good television audience rating.

Very, very few late night animation (anime) series in Japan have ever managed to pull off an overall television audience rating of 4.0% or more. Hataraki Man has just accomplished that. And NANA almost certainly will when it ends its run.
The Hataraki Man anime apparently has done much better than expected, drawing in and keeping audiences despite, among other obstacles, a number of broadcast delays and the lack of a live action version to boost awareness and interest among the Japanese general public.
Japanese posters at 2ch credit the fine cast of Hataraki Man, led by Tanaka Rie as the main character Matsukata Hiroko, for its excellent performance with Japanese viewers, particularly with salaryman, or working men and women - people who, by and large, do not normally watch anime.

The show is billed as a 独自の世界観が光るスパイアクション (a spy action show featuring a characteristic worldview?). Seems like it's the director's pet project; he really just had the idea of doing a spy show set in Tokyo brewing in his head I think...Well I'm Interested after hearing the type of story, plus I'd watch it to find out more about that Black cat :D But somehow it seems kind of uninspiring, to be honest. The character designs are, at least.Character designs.. I cant say they are great but they could be worse, still... I think they could of worked on the main male character a bit more.
Regarding Darker than BLACK, I got a look at the article in close detail. (Hey, I'm not putting my $15+ to waste...) As you can see in the website, interestingly the characters seem to be called by the Chinese pronounciation of their codenames. Hm...
...But somehow it seems kind of uninspiring, to be honest. The character designs are, at least...

Hmm...DtB doesn't immediately grip me as something ground-breaking or fresh, but I'm still curious as it's BONES and Okamura and pet projects can often be lovingly fashioned (or off-puttingly self-indulgent). Character designs are a bit meh, but I suppose they're not overly decorative so maybe they're going for some degree of realism. Though Hei sounds like a text book emotionally isolated male lead and the goth/loli/doll Yin seems to be pandering to the usual crowd. Wonder if Mao likes sitting on people's heads? The first thing I thought when I saw 'talking cat' was Kenran Butou Sai! Nya~Nya~.

It would have been published under an imprint for young women if it was a josei manga, but it was published under the Afternoon KC imprint thats aimed at young men, so it is a seinen manga.

Hmm,
Seinen/Josei baseball anime > Shounen/Shoujo baseball anime is what I mean.
But what am I saying? It isn't as if these labels have become relevant in deciding what I like or not (except ones that follow typical formulas)

I go by what the publisher says, and nothing else :p

But thats what is important here; what its "technically" is, and nothing else. If I'm going to deal with other stuff, then there is no end to this. by other stuff I mean, those that judge any manga be it by its art style, content, gender of mangaka or even the percentage of male/female readers of the manga.
I go by what the publisher says, and nothing else :p
If the publisher chooses to move the manga to a josei magazine and publishes it under a josei imprint, then I'll call it a josei manga, but other than that its a seinen manga.
Yeah, I pretty much agree about that, I'm not so much into josei manga, but I so loved the anime adaptation of Honey and Clover :)

Hmm...DtB doesn't immediately grip me as something ground-breaking or fresh, but I'm still curious as it's BONES and Okamura and pet projects can often be lovingly fashioned (or off-puttingly self-indulgent). Character designs are a bit meh, but I suppose they're not overly decorative so maybe they're going for some degree of realism. Though Hei sounds like a text book emotionally isolated male lead and the goth/loli/doll Yin seems to be pandering to the usual crowd. Wonder if Mao likes sitting on people's heads? The first thing I thought when I saw 'talking cat' was Kenran Butou Sai! Nya~Nya~.
That's one of the things that make me glad we have a Kinokuniya, even if we get the mags 1 week late...
But regarding the character designs - at least I am so thankful they're not all glittering and sparkly like the Ayakashi Ayashi ones. Although they still somehow have a similar 'feel' to them, vaguely anyway... Same thing with Wolf's Rain and even Kenran, there's this something similar about the type of character designs they work with, isn't there? Heck, even with Eureka 7... something about the lines and the eyes or something..
Here's just hoping they get the atmosphere right, even if the characters may be so-so. Hey, I loved the mood of what I saw of Kurau...
Pet projects could really go either way, just like you mentioned. I somehow don't see this going the way Noein did though... well, we'll wait and see.

About time that Kara no Kyoukai got animated! I'm really excited about this.
The only thing that sort of ticks me off is that apparently the animation studio which should handle this is going to be Ufotable, which isn't exactly a great one, in my opinion. Well I atleast hope they will remain as much faithful as possible to Nasu's original story without altering it drastically.
Actually, ufotable, despite being one of the newer companies on the anime production scene, isn't really all that bad. Sakuga-wise, animes they have produced are all quite stable (of course, we're talking about a movie here, stable sakuga should be a given). Personally, I don't think there's any problem with ufotable being the anime production company for Rakkyo. The important part is the actual staff that's going to be in charge of directing and making up the scripts and storyboards (from Animplex?).

This is El-Hazard in japanese: エルハザード and whats mentioned on MoonPhase is this エル・カザド, which is El-Khazad (or something like that I think >.<).

Hmm, thats the manga I'm talking about, Keiko Takemiya is the author of Chikyuu he... manga, which I think this TV anime thats starting in April is based on.
Chikyuu he... is a manga by Keiko Takemiya that got serialized in Manga Shounen between 1977 to 1980.
Usually when an anime is based on a manga or a light novel, the author (and illustrator) of the work would be mentioned, but no author is mentioned, thats why I'm not sure if this anime is based on that manga or maybe its just an original work anime that has the same title as an old manga but no relation to it at all >.>
(But if its really based on her manga, then this wouldn't be the first time, (as mentioned by Sonhex a few posts above) since Chikyuu he... manga got adapted into an anime movie in 1980.)
Manga Shounen is a manga magazine that serialized Sci-Fi manga for boys (a Shounen Sci-Fi manga magazine), it started on 1976 and got defunct on 1981.

Yes, Terra e is the same as the Takemiya Keiko manga which became a movie (very nostalgic for old timers like myself).
Interestigly enough, Terre e is going to replace Tenpou Ibun Ayakashi Ayashi's time slot, which is going to be shortened from its original 50 episode run due to poor ratings.
Although this may be an irregular case, I don't think bringing back a classic manga is going to change the ratings. They certainly need to appeal to the fangirls who made SEED and FMA staple anime titles in terms of popularity, which I suppose TBS is counting on with the Gundam sequel from fall.
Here are the ratings for Ayakashi Ayashi and its predecessor, BLOOD+ for the first eleven episodes.

Haha, exactly my reaction when I read that.
And I'm glad to see I'm not the only fan of Yutaka. Kawamori and him are probably my most favorite mecha designers among the anime industry. :)

So Terra e might be adapted into a TV series, then. I wold be overjoyed if it was really the case, as serious, classics shoujo manga are not often given this chance. Maybe Jyu Oh Sei and Nana helped ? Anyway I can't help but think it's a little regretful that we had to wait for so long. Izubuchi Yutaka to do mecha designs is well and good, but I hope the staff will keep the mood of the original manga and not make it into a Gundam clone. The same for Nobuteru Yuki, as I used to be a fan of him long ago but all his works since Chrono Cross look ugly.

If I remember correctly, both Samurai Champloo and Mushishi were dropped from the original channels on which they aired, then after a break returned and finished normally.Well, actually, it's being syndicated on a half-dozen+ other stations too, so moving it to a different timeslot itself wouldn't necessarily be the issue. I assume what probably happened is that TBS/MBS/etc. were financial partners who invested in the first two quarters with an option for two additional quarters depending on ratings. Unlike the past-midnight stuff, 6pm is pretty lucrative; if this show doesn't pay the bills, they'll want to find something that does. The production team could have tried to get more investment from the publisher to make up for the networks pulling back, but I assume they calculated that the DVD sales wouldn't warrant further investment. So for now, they're just cutting it in half. If the DVD sales end up being surprisingly good, they can always bring it back for a second round (in a later/cheaper timeslot). Anyway, somewhat off-topic, but that's my theory, for what it's worth.

And now that I think about it, it was never officially announced that Ayakashi Ayashi would be 50 episodes; everyone assumed that would be the case due to the timeslot. So that would fit in with what you said about the broadcasters paying for a trial run.

I can't wait to check out 'El Cazdor'. I guess this is the project that the guys at 'Bee Train' had been referring to after they finished 'Madlax'. I read about the new "idea" they were planning to do in a past issue of 'Newtype USA'. They were interviewing the creators on 'Madlax'. So of course they joke about some of the ridiculous stuff in 'Madlax' but enjoy it notheless. But they hinted at another show they wanted to do involving their love of girls and guns. At that time there was no word of what it would be. I'd had forgotten all about it. I figured I'd hear about it eventually if it was a go. Now I see it's going as planned.
Now that I own 'Noir' I can't pick up 'Madlax' and check this out in 'April'. Of course the new 'Kiddy Grade' sounds interesting too. Already creating much comments. :) I did enjoy the first series though I did feel something was missing. I still have yet to pick up the last two volumes. If I had waited I could have bought the entire set for $48 during 'TRSI's Xmas sales.
I guess 'El Cazador' will be what I'll look forward to because I really don't seen anything new that I'm interested in at this time. But the year is still young so I'm sure I'll find something.

Hahahah!!! It's funny that you mention that because that was something that came to mind when I heard about the new project. And again according to the interview they talked about how 'Kajiura Yuki' has become a part of the 'Bee Train' family. So I was like,
"Well, I guess they'll be pulling 'Yuki Kajiura' into this."
If it's got that "Euro" feel to it she'll be perfect for this. But seeing how the show is slated for 'April' they're probably almost finished. I'm curious to see what she comes up with now. Don't be surprised folks will start complaining about her music. As far as I'm concerned I really don't care. To each his own. I like 'Kanno' and 'Kajiura'. So I'm not really picky. Whatever 'Kajiura-san' comes up with I'm sure I'll like it and buy it. More than likely if I like the show, and more than likely I will the album will be added to the rest of the soundtracks I have by her. 'Noir' being the first. Sorry, no '.hack' or whatever "hack" for me. Don't know enough to care.

Yasushi Akimoto (6 Angels, Azuki-chan, Nurse Angel Ririka SOS) is heading up a new OVA project in Japan entitled ICE. Rather discretely and without much fanfare details were announced at Comiket 71. Akimoto has in the past written the One Missed Call screenplay for Takashi Miike, he's also a professor at Kyoto University Arts And Design. Ice is a science fiction story where men have been killed off the face of the Earth through a catastrophe and only women survived.
The 3 OAV series is being directed by Kobayashi Makoto who worked on 6 Angels in 2002 and in the past did mecha designs for Gundam Z, Gundam ZZ and 1992's Giant Robo. Covering the character designs post is Masaya Onishi who worked with Studio Pierrot on many productions including Gegege No Kitaro (1985-88), Bleach and Key the Metal Idol. Yasushi Hirano will write the script, he also worked on 6 Angels and in the past wrote the third season of Lupin III and Gundam Zeta. Korean Musician Won Ill will score the original soundtrack. Producer Hiroaki Inoue worked with Tezuka Productions before joining Gainax as a founding member in 1984, he later helped AIC develop the Tenchi Muyo! boom in the early-mid 1990's. P.P.M will produce the Animation on ICE. The first volume hits retail in Japan on May 25th and releases will follow a monthly schedule through July. Seiyuu include Junko Minagawa, Kurumi Mamiya, Otori Yoshino, Akira Ishida, Yuko Oshima, Tomomi Kasai, Natsuki Sato, Masaru Imai and Haruna Ikezawa. My personal solution for my own application in spelling is that if the Japanese pronouncement of an english word has a "R" sound then I spell it with a "L", and if a word has the overriding pronouncement of a "L" then the word most likely needs to be replaced with a "R" when spelling. Of course, there are exception but it seems to work for me in most occasion when the subject is anime. :)

Yessss!! Koyasu as Neuro! I don't know if he can pull off being creepy enough, but I guess he can do anything... but then again, that's just for the drama CD. Koyasu has a MILLION lead roles in drama CDs but rarely carries the role over to the TV anime version. I doubt Koyasu will stay for the Neuro anime, but will keep my fingers crossed.
Anyway, it's a manga from Weekly Shounen Jump about a creepy detective named Neuro who is a demon that "eats" mysteries and forces a girl named Yako to assist him.
Genre: Mystery, Action, Comedy(?), Shounen
Every time a WEEKLY JUMP manga is announced to be animated, I guess which JUMP manga will be animated next... this is the 3rd time in a row I've been right, ehehe.

While it's true that they didn't say where they got that information and it might not be 100% accurate, I've never known any of their announcements to be wrong (I don't ever recall them reporting a TV anime in the works that turned out to be only a rumor). So while there's no real confirmation source yet, I'd say the possibility of this being true is very likely. I'll just hope the information was indeed correct.

It was announced (http://www.rbbtoday.com/news/20070119/37741.html) today (http://bb.watch.impress.co.jp/cda/news/16874.html) that the Japanese ISP company So-net and GDH (holding company of the animation company GONZO) reached a partnership agreement with the intent of creating a new type of network entertainment business. Included in the plans are the animation of So-net properties, including PostPet (http://www.postpet.so-net.ne.jp/) and Livly Island (http://www.livly.com/main.php).
A PostPet anime was made in 2004 under the name, Post Pet Momobin.
Too bad Gonzo couldn't use the money to save their Mardock Scramble project.
While on the topic of cancellation, the anime RGB Adventure, currently airing on BS-i will be cancelled with the airing of this Sunday's episode.

Personally, I thought RGB Adventure was one of the worst anime series ever aired, therefore am not disappointed about the news.
Guess this is news, rather than an announcment, but according to Sponichi Annex (http://www.sponichi.co.jp/entertainment/news/2007/01/17/06.html), Toshio Suzuki stated that Hayao Miyazaki's next film will be officially announced in March.
Miyazaki's next (and possibly last) film has been shrouded in secrecy but there's plenty of speculation abound that it's an adaptation of another children's book called 'I Lost My Little Boy' by Chinese author Yishu. That rumour is best taken with a pinch of salt though :)

Nice to see Mr.Fullswing getting an anime =) I didn't love the manga but it was interesting enough, I would think it would get 24 episodes but with the amount of volumes it has, it could go for longer.
I would love to see a anime for Soul Eater! and a few other manga like Bamboo Blade, otogi matsuri but... I wonder if that will ever happen >.>

An anime adaptation of both Mr.Fullswing and Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro are still not mentioned on MoonPhase, so treat this as a rumor until an anime adapatation is confirmed.

Hirai bashing is as old as GSD bashing. Character designs do not dictate the quality of a series, unless the director is also named Hisashi Hirai.
Oh, and JEEG isn't totally confirmed yet aside from a mention in MoonPhase so take it with a grain of salt.

Just look at the cover to novel volume 1 of Giniro no Olynsis...I swear, he merely xeroxed a colored lineart pic of Athrun and slapped it on the cover...
Anyway, I was just showing my complete agreement to the comment on Hirai. I'm always willing to give any anime a shot despite whatever its characters look like. Heck, I even gave Giniro no Olynsis a shot, and I didn't even drop it because of the way the characters looked. But Hirai has little to no ability to differentiate his character designs.

i don't know what happened to him, but he was able to give a distinctive style to his characters from a relatively old but far more superior series (Infinite Ryvius). sCRYed does a bit of a good job of differentiating too, i think, but it looks closer to the ones he did recently.

Well I've heard Soukyu No Fafner is an amazing mecha series marred a bit by crappy character design. Yet I'm working my way toward it in my list. He doesn't make an anime suck but man does he suck at his job. I'm worried as to why he still finds work as it does not make any sense. I know the Japanese tend to tilt towards Homgeniety but come on!

I don't think I said it ruined it, at least I'm absolutely certain I said it didn't ruined it. I think what I said was its an amazing series marred (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/marred)by crappy character design. Does anyone else think I said he ruined it. Don't put words in my mouth. There is a huge difference between the words mar and ruin. Hirai is a hack at this point and needs to either get better or retire.

Whatever the Bishoujo game is its a surefired hit. I've come to accept that this is what sells today whether I enjoy the genre or not, it's just how it is.
But please tell me there IS something deeper to the plot this time than guy and a harem and/or school setting. I cannot watch it if that isn't the case. I've seen one of them in To Heart 2 and part of Tsuyokisu and thus I feel I've seen enough for a lifetime at least. I've liked Higurashi and Fate/Stay Night and what I've seen of Kanon but that's because they are multilayered in terms of plot and have characters that go beyond the archetype.
The characters look cute, but that would never make up for a lack of plot and a story behind the face. Sometimes I wonder if these are merely commercials for the game to whet a fans appetite into playing the game and getting some actual story.
